Pros: Roomy interior with over 40-inches of front seat headroom. Strong. Comfortable seating. Smooth ride. Cons: Gas guzzler. Transmission glitch. The Bottom Line: Good family truck.
TRADED IT, BECAUSE
To save on gas, after nearly four years and only 21K miles, my husband and I traded our Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab (Laramie package) for a Ford Escape. The Ram had been a trusty vehicle for the past few years, but it was ...

Pros: Excellent mileage, very durable, rides and drives very well Cons: Parking is not terribly easy due to width The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a big truck that gets good mileage, a V6 Dodge Ram will serve you very well. You'll love it!
I have to admit it: I am in love with my father's truck. What's not to love about a roomy, comfortable truck that gets 24 miles per gallon on road trips Very little. "Pop" bought his Ram SXT regular cab, short bed pickup new in ...

Pros: POWERFUL 5.7L Hemi Engine, Room for Six Adults, Great fit-and-finish Cons: 15 MPG average, Booming exhaust note in the interior The Bottom Line: Great every-day vehicle if you have a family as well as the need for a truck. Why have two vehicles when one will do?
I had the truck less than 24 hours and had already been asked twice "Does that thing have a Hemi?" Lucky for me it does or I'd have to dejectedly say "no." Of course, having the Hemi does have more advantages than being able to say "Yeah, it's got a ...

Pros: Flamboyant styling, spacious cabs, handling Cons: Reliability concerns, some odd styling cues, some interior bits, feels "big" The Bottom Line: Nice looking truck, the new Japanese offerings are better for most users
This review is a heavily edited version of my 2002 Ram review, updated for 2003 changes. The highlight of these changes is the coming availability of the new 5.7L "hemi" engine for 1500 models. This engine makes 345 hp and puts out 375 lb. ft. of ...

Pros: 20 rims, an "all business" exhaust tone, and a great stereo straight from the factory Cons: Loves to drink gas, Door speakers need to be redesigned. The Bottom Line: Although it's a close race between the Ram and the Titan, I think the Ram eeks out a first place.
I was going to do a review when I first got the truck, but there are several fine examples here, and there wasn't much to add, so I waited to do a "long-term" review. I purchased the truck in June 2003. This is my third Dodge, and I was waiting to ...

Pros: power, best riding truck I ever had, exc. fit and finish, impressive snout Cons: needs nerf bars or running boards, quite a blind spot over your shoulders The Bottom Line: Outstanding! No wonder it's Motor Trend's '03 Truck of the Year!
Not to insult Dodge, but as a long time GM man I always said hell would have to freeze over before I bought a Dodge. Turns out the coldest day of the year I found myself in a Dodge dealership looking for info on a Dakota. The salesman at the dealership...

Pros: Amazing changes since 2001--diesel is much quieter. Cons: Doesn't come with steps. The Bottom Line: It's great! I love it! And it's gorgeous!
I just traded in my 2001 Ram Truck for the 2003 quad cab 4X4. The diesel is so much quieter, I don't have to turn it off to go through a drive-through. This truck and the diesel have both been completely reengineered. Even though the power in my...

Pros: Lots of get up on go!! Cons: Big vehicle. Takes some getting used to. The Bottom Line: Great truck. Comfort and performance in a full size truck.
I bought a four door 1500 Dodge Ram SLT trim package with a Hemi about 6 months ago. I am still very happy with it. Engine and Mileage: OK, I know I don't need a Hemi and I don't think I am really swayed by the macho commercials. The first ...

Pros: Roomy, good power for the motor's size, no major problems. Cons: Boring, plain, questionable quality; below average handling, suspension, and steering. The Bottom Line: Overall, the best pickup I've owned so far but I'm still slightly disappointed and I am worried about long term durability.
Well, it's been OK - but not stellar. We own 2 other vehicles and this has been the least enjoyable of the the 3. The wife and I also own a Nissan Murano (our kid hauler and urban SUV) and a Lotus Elise (our radical weekend toy). If you are interested ...

Pros: Ride (for a 3/4 ton), brakes, power & styling. Cons: Automatic trans allows truck to roll back while in gear. The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this vehicle - big on power, style, drivability and will save you a few dollars at the dealer.
Dodge - no way - I'd never own a Dodge! At least that's what I said up until I drove this one. This truck is big on power, looks and drivability but lacks the big dollar sign of the competitors. I shopped around and compared between the big three a ...

Pros: See above for pros Cons: See above for cons The Bottom Line: I would buy this truck again because I feel it is the complete truck for me.
My truck has cloth seats and I don't have a lot of the options such as navigational system or dual climate control. Other than the Hemi and 4x4, I didn't need things like dual climate control and such. I have added the aftermarket things I required. In ...

Pros: Cab Room. Engine. SXT package. Cons: Ride not as good as Chevy. Interior light switch. The Bottom Line: Based on my experience so far I would recommend this truck without reservation. What stands out most is the smooth and powerful engine, very well designed interior, and good value.
I bought my 2003 Dodge 1500 this past May. Engine wise all the talk in these trucks thus far has been in regard to the HEMI. However, unless your pulling large loads regularly (or just enjoy spending your money on gas) the 4.7 liter V8 (287 CID) is a ...

Pros: Best looking, most powerful pickup, bar none. Cons: Mileage, rear axle hop, hard to park The Bottom Line: I'd still pick this even over the new for 2004 F150. the engine is that much better.
I bought a new 2003 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4WD in June 2003, as replacement for a chevy S10 extended cab (too small, only 1 jump seat in the rear, etc.) The RAM is probably the best looking, best sounding (hemi!!!!) pickup on earth. the 6 foot bed was ...

Pros: Hemi Power

Cons: Gas milage 11.5 in town, 16 on the highway. The Bottom Line: Great power, comfortable ride. My favorite out of all the vehicles I have owned!
I liked my last truck, a 2000 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 4x4, but I REALLY like this truck! When my GMC got messed up in a bad wreck, I started looking for a new one. It came down to another GMC, and the Ram, as I just don't care for Fords at all. The hemi had ...
