Pros: Roomy, safe and powerful, this is your father's sedan with some nice updated touches. Cons: A small blind spot and poor fuel economy. The Bottom Line: Big family and aversion to SUVs? The Crown Vic is a cost-effective solution to the Grand Marquis and a better sedan than the other domestic lines produce in this class.
You do not have to be a policeman or codger to enjoy driving the 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. Having a family of teenagers and a fast growing aversion to most minivans and SUVs will also do the trick. We put the vehicle police love to hate through a grue ...

Pros: Room, power, quietness, cornering, controls, comfort. Good used ones are cheap. Cons: Not the best mileage but it's a full-size car. The Bottom Line: I believe this in one of the best cars I have ever owned. The engineering and quality are unmistakable.
I have owned a lot of cars and I'd place this one near the top. Recently my Mercedes E420 was totaled in an accident and I needed to buy something quickly to replace it as I drive a lot for work. I went to the CarMax and test drove a few cars. I ...

Pros: Value, roominess, V8 torque Cons: dated interior, flat seats, V8 rumble The Bottom Line: I would definitley recommend this as an option to anyone seeking a roomy family sedan.
In my search for a new car I gave serious consideration to a Crown Victoria. I test drove a model with leather seats and the sport and handling package.
Personally, I find the exterior styling to be rather handsome although it immedaitely says...

Pros: Size, power, bulletproof road cruiser Cons: Resale value, little nitpick design items mentioned above The Bottom Line: A good consideration for value, if you know you'll drive it for a while
As a salesman, I require a lot of space. I also wanted a comfortable car for those long trips. Luxury autos were out for fear of being extravagant, and American-made RWD was on the list, also. That really only left one option, the Crown Victoria. I ...

An Awesome car

Pros: Full size comfort, V8 power, rides smooth Cons: cars slow down in front when they see the cop headlights
I bought this vehicle used this spring with about 20000 miles on it. Now, it has 37000. So far, everything has been perfect with it. Has only needed to go into the shop for routine maintenance, and to readjust the left front door hinge (no biggie). The car rides smooth and comfortable. I've even slept in the front seats at stretches. A recent change to Crown Vics is the rack and pinion steering, which with the suspension used makes the vehicle handle remarkably well for something so heavy. I run around curves just as fast as all the smaller cars. It has great power, and it comes very smoothly when you hit the accelerator. My average fuel mileage is always 21-23. Car is very roomy, with plenty of trunk space. We took it on a trip to the mountains this past weekend, and it was comfortable for the long trip, and it kept up with the little 4cyl imports going up the hill at about half throttle, when they were pushing hard.
The bottom line is that this car is roomy, comfortable, smooth, responsive (both in acceleration and handling), and very reliable

Pros: fit and finish, v8 full frame car (safer than uni bodys)awesome car for the price Cons: sterio system is a reach and needed a replacement radio twice under waranty
i purchased my crown vic new in the summer of 03 and i love it. i got the base sedan (which has plenty of options)but has hubcaps instead of mag type wheels, manual parking brake release which i found only comes with police or fleet crown vics. i later found out it was part of a fleet order that went bad, also the police crown vics dont have the transponder keys like the rest have. the dealer wanted to get rid of it so i got a great deal 20,500$ with just 6 miles on the odometer. it has great power for all around driving, good gas mileage for highway driving ( im not a leadfoot driver, i set the cruise controll on the highway and average upper 20's mpg). interior is comfortable but the radio is hard to reach . the exhaust system is a lower grade stainless steel but will probably last the life of the car. i think it is a lot of car for the money. exterior fit and finish is outstanding as well!

Pros: Best value in a full sized sedan today. Great ride, dependability, decent gas mileage. Cons: Needs left footrest, power steering pump noisy, rain runs into trunk when opened.
I bought this car in Oct.of 2003,it had 18000 miles on it.I believe it was a lease car originally. It now has 61000 trouble free miles.
This car is a pleasure to drive on a long (or short) trip. I get an honest 28+ mpg on long freeway trips. The car is comfortable, quiet and has ample power if you call for it, especially at lower speeds. I would absolutely buy another IF I ever need another. I have done nothing to this car except have the check engine light reset shortly after I bought it. I purchased the extended warranty which so far has been a waste of money. This is not an exciting car to drive, just enjoyable. Rear wheel drive, rack & pinion steering,V8 engine. Got it all. Mine is white, and I replaced the grill with the police style one (black mesh)
I should get a credit on my insurance, as everyone tends to behave themselves around me, as it is mistaken for a police cruiser all the time.

All time pinnacle of the American sedan

Pros: Powerful, safe car that does not make any luxury pretensions. Cons: Large parking space is required. Otherwise this car is perfect.
Every time I turn the key in my Crown Vic my satisfaction with this car grows. The engine is by its inherent design perfectly balanced with the soothing V8 burble and without the high speed counter shafts that create the "sewing machine" noise on 4 or 6 cylinder cars. When I go out on the highway, the precision of the handling, the quiet power, and the smooth steady ride make driving a treat. The car's safety rating and collision tests speak for themselves. The seats are spacious and comfortable, entry and exit are easy. Dashboard and controls are simple and logical. There are none of the electronic gimcracks that serve to complicate and confuse.... no GPS displays, no DVD. This car has just what is needed: climate control, radio/CD, and a very useful compass. Trunk space is superb. This car never disappoints. I would not trade this car for a Mercedes or an Avalon at the same price. The Crown Vic is the final evolution of the great American sedan which started with the Model T.
