Pros: Cost-effective, you get your money's worth, and beyond reliable. Cons: That I paid full sticker price- I leased, then bought the same vehicle. The Bottom Line: You can't go wrong. The Civic is their least expensive model, but they don't skimp on quality. My intention is to drive this until the doors fall off.
I signed a 4-year lease on a 2003 Honda Civic LX on May 31, 2003. For $172/month, it was the best deal I could find (I didn't want anything over $200.) The closest that anybody came at that time was about $198 for a Chevy product, but I had my heart set ...

Pros: Good looking, Fun, solid, great on gas! (37.2 mpg so far), cheap when bought used... Cons: Road noise, semi-hard seats, center A/C vents, busy in city traffic... The Bottom Line: If you're looking for dependable, fun, and frugal transportation in a well built package with legendary reliability...get a honda.
I was searching for a decent used car to replace my tired '97 Ford Ranger, the Ranger could have kept going for many years to come but we do want a family sometime soon. So, my search led me to a 2003 Honda Civic LX coupe, very basic, with low miles. ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, low maintenance costs Cons: Somewhat small The Bottom Line: Cannot say enough about the reliability. Very practical, very reliable. A great first car.
I purchased my used 2003 Civic w/ 28,000 miles on it from a local dealership. I was a little wary about purchasing a used car from a private individual, and the dealer provided me with a warranty at no cost, so I felt reassured. I also had m mechanic ...

Pros: Excellent fuel efficiency, great factory equipment, reliable engine package Cons: None The Bottom Line: I'd definitely buy this car again. It has been more reliable than anything I've ever owned in the past.
What we have: 4-door sedan LX style Manual transmission 1.7 liter engine We purchased this car in 2003, when it only had 36 miles on the odometer. At the time we decided to purchase we were not really in the market for a new car, but we knew that ...

Pros: Great handling, minimal gas consumption, durable, roomy. Cons: Minor annoying problems common in the line. Would recommend purchasing extended warranty. The Bottom Line: Definitely recommended if you want an economy car that still has ample room and handles well.
We bought this car brand new and haven't looked back since. It's a nice, stylish sedan that you don't mind taking other people out in and it also has a sporty feel to it and accelerates quickly when you need it to. It's great on gas, which has been ...

Pros: Relatively roomy, Honda reputation, Strong engine Cons: Disappointing overall quality, Disappointing fuel economy, Road noise The Bottom Line: Its still a pretty good car overall, but I would definately recommend a close comparison with a Toyota before you buy one. Personally, I would not buy one again.
First of all, what I have: 2003 Honda Civic LX 4dr 1.7L engine Manual Transmission I purchased the car in 2003 with 3500 miles on it (was a demonstrator car or something). Since then I have put nearly 80,000 miles on it and am about to sell it ...

Pros: 48 mpg in city driving. Cons: Poor body design, various problems, unfixable dashboard rattle, just another subcompact. The Bottom Line: If you want hybrid technology don't settle for a small, uncomfortable and noisy car as we did with this one. The new Prius is a world of difference.
We traded this car in on a 2005 Prius while it still had some warranty miles on it. Broken motor mount at 23,000 miles, computer problems, rattle in the dashboard that was maddening and unfixable (there is service memo on this problem to Honda shops but ...

Pros: Great mileage, better looking than Prius or Insight, and more peppy than you'd think. Cons: Bad on snow and ice, limited options. The Bottom Line: With my new snow tires, I love this car. I love this technology. I'm not going back to gas-only again, if I can help it.
I love my '03 Civic Hybrid. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, and I'm looking forward to several more years behind the wheel. I bought this car because I'm a pragmatic environmentalist. I believe that green technologies will only be developed as the market ...

Pros: Drives well, good rotation angle; decent pickup and mileage (see details) Cons: Lower than mfgr mileage; seats suck and cup holder incorrectly placed The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a good commuter car go for it. Much better than Corolla, Protege, Sentra, Sonata or Kia. Not a family car (prefer Accord or Camry).
If you do not like in Northern Virginia this may not be a big deal for you - but in NoVA the hybrid is allowed on all Interstates where there is HOV2/3 (High Occupancy Vehicle) limits on minimum number of passengers. The hybrid is a greater commuter ...

Pros: Comfortable, efficient, reliable, quiet, good financial choice(for a new car). Cons: Trivial interior trim rattling, questionable environmental value. The Bottom Line: If I were buying new I would seriously consider the Civic Hybrid and the Prius. But I would question that hybrids have a lesser environmental impact than some conventional models.
This is my first (and last) new car, it now has 30k miles. We live in upstate NY so most of my experience with this car is in winter conditions. I'm an engineer in linear systems. Cost: $20k minus approx. 3.5k in tax refunds = $16.5k I'm an avid ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, attracts attention, great resale value! Cons: Not a pretty car, sometimes sluggish acceleration The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to singles or small families who are cost and environmentally conscious.
I settled on the Civic Hybrid because of the fuel economy and the reputation Honda has for making cars with great resale values. Since I bought mine in 2003 I have totally fallen in love with it. It is a "compact" car but my six month old daughter's ...

Pros: CVT is awesome. Car handles good. A/C is powerful. A nice car, overall. Cons: Software glitches abound. Strange features. Loud rattle in dash. disappointing mileage. The Bottom Line: A nice car wrapped around some confused computers. Not as weird as the Prius. If bugs can be fixed it would be an excellent car.
I have owned numerous cars, including 3 Toyotas. I have always wanted to own a Honda, but never seemed to get around to buying one until the Hybrid came along. Being a renewable energy fan and watching gas prices skyrocket, I decided to get the Civic ...

Pros: Gas Mileage, Gas Mileage, Gas Mileage.... And the sported up the interior. Cons: Some workmanship detail issues, inconsistent gas mileage. The Bottom Line: Great if you want to increase gas mileage and for tooling around town. Also good for road trips.
My wife and I were gas guzzlers. In the summer of 2003 our gas bill was consistently north of $200/month, topping out at $300 one month. She drove what some people call the yuppies mini-van (1998 Nissan Pathfinder) @ 15MPG, and I drove (and still do) ...
