Pros: Power, ride quality, quietness; interior room, comfort, and versatility Cons: Could be more stylish, no sunroof or CD changer from factory, low availability The Bottom Line: Excellent minivan at a reasonable price. Shame it doesn't handle as well now, but this is the price of an improved ride.
The Japanese auto companies are not all that smart. It took them about a decade and a failed attempt or two to realize that large pick-ups, minivans, and SUVs were hot and get competitive products to market. For example, both the Toyota T100 and original ...

Pros: Honda quality, Honda ride (if you like it), double automatic doors, nice leather seats (heated) Cons: Spartan interior, Honda ride (if you hate it), Anemic Stereo, Boring Dash. The Bottom Line: Great lines, dual automatic doors, and leather seats that are comfortable for almost anyone. If you are in the market for a mini-van you must consider a test drive.
Several weeks ago my SUV finally gave up. The purchasing decision I’ve dreaded for years has come and there’s no way for me to avoid it. Not only am I now faced with a new car purchase, but a mini-van no less. Yes, take pity on me I am a Mini-van-man. ...

Pros: Safe, easy to park, simple basic features Cons: INTERIOR NOISE, lack of luxury features The Bottom Line: Nice van in 2003, look at newer models for better features
I broke down and bought a mini van when my Saab became just too tiny to carry around my daughter and all of her accessories. This was a hard decision as I had vowed in my 20's that I would never drive a mini van. My first purchase was a Dodge ...

Pros: I like to drive, and the Odyssey doesn't rob me of that pleasure. Cons: It is not the quietest--there is a fair amount of road noise. The Bottom Line: If you need a larger vehicle but are afraid of minivans, you will find yourself pleasantly surprised by the Odyssey. It's worth paying sticker price.
When I was pregnant with my second child, my husband took one look at the results of the ultrasound (I didn't want to know if it was a boy or girl, but he did...) and knew that he was going to want to try at least one more time in that little ...

Pros: Good package, steals enough gadgets from others while making some of its own, easy prices. Cons: Less nimble, feels like for older people, too much wood-trim, interior dark, look is old. The Bottom Line: For older people, it is a safe minivan. It has soft rides, can be very comfortable for long trips.
The replacement of the old 140 hp with the 210 hp was a good desision when the second gen Odyssey came out. However, the competition has been uping their goodies since then. The new Sienna is bigger, and more versatile. The 2004 Mazda MPV has a new ...

**JANUARY 2004 REVIEW UPDATE** *I HAVE NOW LOWERED MY PREVIOUS RATING ON MY 2003 ODYSSEY. THE HEATING & COLLING SYSTEM IS BELOW AVERAGE. IF I CARRY THREE PERSONS OR MORE IN MY VAN, I HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY USE THE DEFROSTER AND REAR PASSENGERS CANNOT ...

Pros: seats remove easily, lots of power, separate rear ac/heat controls, optional DVD or Navigation system Cons: not enough storage, poor availability, dealers take advantage of popularity, no outside temperature gauge The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a mini-van and don't mind paying for quality, the 2003 Odyssey deserves a good hard look.
Background:
We had looked at and actually bought a 2002 Honda Odyssey. Luckily for us, it had a bad paint job so we were able to return it and get a 2003 for the same price.
2002 vs 2003:
There is very little difference...

Pros: Engine power; handling; amenities; reliability Cons: No split rear seatback; rattles; gas mileage; noise The Bottom Line: A very good vehicle, with reservations.
We bought our '03 Odyssey used in the summer of 2005. It was a cream puff, just 6,000 miles. We have driven it on various family trips over the past year. Its been a very good vehicle - its reliable, it handles pretty well for a van and it has a lot of ...

Pros: Quiet smooth ride, good power, great use of space, overall great value! Cons: Wish it had a compass and outside temp gauge and an accurate fuel gauge. The Bottom Line: Great vehicle for the family, good value, albeit basic looking interior. If it holds up like my previous honda cars did, we'll be happy a long time.
Being a former windstar owner, I was excited to try the Odyssey which I had heard so much about. Initial impression was that it was very plain inside (like all honda products), but after comparing all the comparable minivans, we took the plunge and are v ...

Pros: Great handling, love the DVD player/"babysitter" Cons: could use some more storage compartments, sliding doors are stiff The Bottom Line: If you can find one in stock - jump on it right away - you will enjoy every mile in comfort!
I have been a Minivan driver for 5 years now. I just recently leased the 2003 Honda Odyssey after I swore that I would never buy another minivan again. Why - you ask? Because I previously drove the 2000 Ford Windstar. My Windstar had plenty of room...
