Pros: Very economical and large sideview mirrors.
Cons: Very few safety features, not comfortable to drive.
The Bottom Line: Although this car is very economical, because it has too few safety features, I can not recommend this it.

Hyundai Accent 2003

Hard to Accentuate the Positives.

Of all the Hyundai models I have driven the 2003 Accent is the one that impressed me the least. I realize that the Accent is a very economical car to drive and it is very...

I have recently just got a 2003 Hyundai accent in silver. I got the automatic because I live in a b ...

Pros: Economical, yet very peppy
Cons: Minimal headroom in back seat for tall people (hatchback)
The Bottom Line: The best bang-for-your-buck car I found in its price range.

When looking for a car, I did my research. I was not about to drop a pile of cash on the first car ...

ACCENTuating the small car

by packardhell1

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, gas mileage, fairly roomy
Cons: Size, size, reserved about buying a Korean car
The Bottom Line: If you want a small car, go for a Cavalier or Focus, but if you want a great value (about $3000 less) than go for a Hyundai Accent.

On Saturday, March 15, 2003, my wife asked me if we could get her a car to replace her 1992 Ford Escort. She told me she liked that little car on the Hyundai commercials. We went to the local Hyundai dealer here in Springfield, IL, Green on Dirksen....

Pros: Very peppy if you get the optional 1.6 DOHC engine, Reliable, and great warranty
Cons: Seats aren't real comfortable but bearable. Passenger seat is little hard to fold forward.
The Bottom Line: If you want a economical great looking reliable car with a little zip its for you!

I purchased a Hyundai Accent GT around May of 2003 for $10100 and here is how its been. When you look at the car from the outside it actually looks more expensive than it costs(this car has the most glossy black paint I have ever seen!). I got the GT p ...

Pros: Economy, Quality, Great in snow (with snow tires of course)...... Excellent bang for the buck.
Cons: Seat Comfort, a couple of irks, strange steering...
The Bottom Line: This little car performs well in all conditions and does everything I ask it to, and more. Test drive one and you will see, too.

I leased my Hyundai Accent in July 2003, when I had finally had enough of my terrible 2002 Saturn L200, which I couldn't sell privately as nobody wanted it. Hyundai offered to pay out what was remaining on my Saturn loan and take it as a trade in. ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Handling, quality construction, features
Cons: engine power
The Bottom Line: For the money it is a great value. It does everything well and puts the fun back into driving. Easy to park, too.

No, the Accent is not the perfect car, at least not for everyone. But it nearly makes the mark for ...

Best budget car on the market!

by ingoldm
Oct 06 '04

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: AMAZING gas mileage, 100,000 mile bumper to bumper, great exterior design, lots of hatchback room
Cons: Seats not so comfortable, only 104 hp, plastic wheel covers (on the base model)
The Bottom Line: I think it's a great car for a first time, or budget conscious buyer. You can't beat the warranty, and the looks rival much more expensive cars.

I did a ton of research before buying my Accent since it was my first new (as in never been owned before) car purchase. Its a great car for the money, especially when you figure the price is on par with 2-3 year old used versions of it's competition. ...

Pros: Price is the only pro we have discovered, so far.
Cons: Not mechanically sound, unreliable & VERY POOR SERVICE FROM DEALER AND MANUFACTURER.
The Bottom Line: Feel as if I cannot trust the sales people or service people & am always wondering what is going to go wrong next with my "new" car.

Horrible, horrible horrible!! I purchased a 2003 Accent, last years model, but supposedly brand new...I have made 4 trips to the dealer so far, car is sitting there right now, and I just purchased it 2 weeks ago...First problem we discovered, after we ...

2003 Hyundai Accent

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Cheap. Fuel efficient.
Cons: water soaking the backseat, two inches in the trunk, squeaky seat belts, wind whistling noises.
The Bottom Line: The Hyundai Accent is not worth the headache or the money. Take the bus until you can save enough for a better class of car.

I just purchased a 2003 accent used, in beautiful condition, with low kilometers. My previous car had been a 1999 Accent, reliable to drive, tough to kill, but with a water problem in the trunk/backseat area. When replacing the old car, I went right ...

A Great Car
by MQB0010

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Excellent Warranty, Rides Smooth, Fun to Drive
Cons: Slightly Cramped in Back
I recently purchased a 2003 Hyundai Accent. This car has been nothing but GREAT! I drive about 500 miles each weekend and the car has been great on GAS. It has also had absolutely no mechanical problems. The warranty on this vehicle is also unbeatable. I took it in for a 7500 mile checkup recently and it only cost me 70 for a tune up, oil change, and addition of engine fluids that were required to keep the car in tip top shape.

The car also drives very smooth and nicely. The pickup is somewhat fast. It has a CD player and power everything. These things really add to the comfort.

I HIGHLY recommend this car for people who are looking for a first new car or a RELIABLE vehicle. Like I said earlier I have had no problems and expect none in the future.

Pros: Smooth driving, handles well in traffic, great gas mileage.
Cons: The defroster does not work as fast as i would like in the AM.
My experience in driving the "2003 Hyundai Accent " has been a very enjoyable one. It drives smooth and never gives you any trouble. The tank can get over 300 miles and the money you save on gas alone can go for days.
I bought this product because at the time, it was the only one that i could afford. Now i know that it was the best choice for me as my first car. I have had nothing but good experiences with it and am now glad that I purchased it. It is a great starter car, as well as one to last through out the years.
There is not much to this car that I dislike except the size. I have never been the one to like a small, compact car. I would have rather bought an SUV, but as far as compact cars go, this one is a winner.
