What will break next?

by
Apr 18, 2008 - Updated Apr 19, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: zippy, fun to drive it has a bumper to bumper warranty
Cons: EVERYTHING BREAKS! You will get to know your repairman by his first name
The Bottom Line: This car had constant problems. I spent too much time in the repair shop there was ever a time that SOMETHING wasn't broken. Cheaply made. Lots of road noise.

I bought this car new and within two months I had already taken it back to have both window motors replaced. This is where my story begins... I finally traded it in late 2007 after the warranty expired because I could not afford to pay constant repairs. ... read more

Jan 22, 2008 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Looks, Infinity Stereo, Fun to drive
Cons: Name something and it will inevitably go wrong... THE CAR IS JUNK... STAY AWAY!!!
The Bottom Line: Car is unreliable and proven to be by quite a few people.

I have a 2003 GT V6 with a 6 speed manual and 95000 miles on it. Over the years the car has given me nothing less then a headache. After my FIRST clutch went out around 48000 miles the dealership told me not to repair the car with the stock clutch ... read more

My favorite sports car! Luxury for cheap!

by
Jun 11, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: price, style, quality, fun, attention getter, roomy front, stereo system
Cons: eventual hatch noise, small backseat
The Bottom Line: If you don't want to spend $50,000 for a quality, luxury sports car, get the Tiburon!

I bought my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon brand new in 2002. I previously owned the 2001, and as soon as I saw the new body style, I was drooling and knew I was going to get my hands on the 2003 as soon as I could. The 2003's looks are crowd-stopping. I don't ... read more

Hyundai Tiburon… Wait! Hyundai?

by
Apr 20, 2006 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smoooooth tranny, beautiful styling, cheap
Cons: Some interior peices seem cheap, poor gas mileage
The Bottom Line: Nice looking cheap car, my choise would probably be Civic or Celica, but this is still a good car.

My roomate bought his 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT used last year when his slow-dying VW Jetta stopped dying so slowly. He drove it off the lot with 22k on the clock, all the while the poor Jetta was spewing coolant on the dealer's lot. My roomate isn't a ... read more

Falls Apart, bad service, gets me from point a to b, but that's about all.

by
Mar 29, 2006 - Updated Apr 1, 2006 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: looks nice, peppy, handles well there is nothing else that is good.
Cons: things-which-broke: key, window motor and track, clutch hydraulic, passenger side auto-lock, blade_motor_and_gears, sun roof.
The Bottom Line: Horrible NEVER BUY ONE OF THESE OR ANY OTHER HYUNDAI, horrible workman ship and quality/reliablity and horrible service.

I have owned mine since new, let me give you a list of what has broke: year 1: rear windshield wiper (gear teeth stripped and motor blew. clutch hydraulic broke (don't know how) and neither did the service techs. this also wreaked my clutch. ... read more

A Very Very Very Good Car, But Not Great

by
Dec 9, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good styling, cant-be-beat warranty, fun to drive, good acceleration
Cons: Cramped back seat, a few recalls
The Bottom Line: Fun and affordable

I have owned this car for 2.5 years and it has been a really good car, but not great. I say not great because I have had a few problems (all of which were corrected promptly by the dealership)but these problems have not lowered my enthusiasm for the ... read more

Dangerous Marine Animal

Oct 24, 2005 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Real head turner, good power, good handling, fair price.
Cons: Excessive road noise, cabin noise, fuel consumption.
The Bottom Line: I havent owned it long, but it seems to be well made, and fun to drive. The owner before had it serviced several times (I carfaxed) so hope its fixed.

I finally put my 89 Lincoln Mark 7 on the chopping block and bought an 03 Tiburon Tuscani. Comparing the two would be unfair so I'll try not too. I researched Tibs for a month and looked at several before I bought one. I have to admit, the warranty was a ... read more

Tiburon has problems, but warranty has taken care of that

by
Sep 28, 2005 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: style, comfortable seats, handling, acceleration
Cons: electrical problems, gas usage, poorly designed sunroof
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car because of its dependability and excellent hyundai warranty.

I bought the 2003 Tiburon in 2003 (GT V6 2.7L auto), and have had it for almost 3 years. The car has done very well for me, never having any type of problem with the engine, transmission, or exhaust. Because of this, I am very thankful although all of ... read more

I really like this 2003 Hyundai Tiburon!

by
May 19, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Affordable, attractive and stylish, fun to drive, responsive, nimble. The fog lights.
Cons: The high-beam switch. The alternating-speed wipers. O2 sensor needs to be replaced frequently.
The Bottom Line: Test-drive one and see what you think; that's the ultimate test (it's as reliable as any of 'em and better than a lot of 'em).

I've had this car for almost 2.5 years. I plan on buying another one shortly (the 2005 version). I have been accumulating a lot of highway miles on this one--almost 50K. I bought it for: the looks; the V6; the antilock brakes; and the price--affordable! ... read more

Oct 3, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Awesome Infinity system, very comfortable ride, head-turning styling.
Cons: Blind spot, Michelin tires will wear FAST.
The Bottom Line: Would happily purchase again.

As a previous owner of a 1998 Turbo AWD Eagle Talon, I wanted to find something somewhat comparable when that vehicle started to show some age. I had a few friends who owned Hyundai's and I must admit the warranty played a MAJOR part in the overall ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Inexpensive, nice looking, great standard 'options', confidence-building warranty
Cons: Poor visibility, limited acceleration, no back-seat space, poor gas consumption
The Bottom Line: Good buy for those on a budget

Last July, when my ten-year old Geo Storm finally gave up the good fight, and died at the side of the road amidst clouds of smoke and steam, I was forced into buying a new car. I should state right up front that I consider cars to be wonderful ... read more

Performance on a budget

by
Jan 22, 2004 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfortable driving, great looks, good power for the price.
Cons: Could use a bit more power at the mid-range, back seat is a joke.
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this to anyone looking to buy a solid performance car but doesn't want to pay the $25,000 price tag of comparable Japanese cars.

So I was getting a bit tired of my 1996 Mustang GT and got myself looking into what I might buy to replace it. I knew I wanted something sporty, but at the same time I had a moderately tight budget of about $20,000 I was trying to stick under. I ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, sporty. Tons of things come standard, good sound system
Cons: Backseat, gas mileage
The Bottom Line: For what you pay, you get a ton of features and one of the best looking affordable cars out on the road.

I bought a 2004 Tiburon (Auto I4) and am more than happy with the car. First of all, you can't beat the value. You get power locks, power windows, power mirrors, remote entry, alarm, CD player and air conditioning standard on the base model which retails ... read more

Grown-up racer at an unbeatable price

by
Jan 6, 2004 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Styling, loaded with options, V6 torque well-suited to real world driving
Cons: Fuel consumption, some harshness/rattles, relentless understeer
The Bottom Line: Where else can you spend CDN$25000 and have people honestly mistake your car for an exotic?

When my last car, a 1993 Mazda MX-6 with 226000 kilometers on the clock, started presenting me with regular repair bills for three hundred, five hundred, or nine hundred dollars, I knew it was time to move on. Rather than carefully considering my ... read more

The Bottom Line: Want fun for little cash? Here's your ticket to ride!

This is an updated and revised review of the 2003 GT model with automatic. Everything remains stock except for the wheels and tires (which I upgraded to 17" and Toyos) and a few cosmetic changes. I don't consider the Tiburon to be a true ... read more

Sharp Little Shark

by
Sep 25, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Build Quality, V6 Performance
Cons: Urban Fuel Consumption, Some Electrical Gremlins
The Bottom Line: Assuming the electrical glitches are due to abuse by rental customers then this is a very nice vehicle overall.

This is not going to be an in depth review of the 2003 Tiburon, simply an opinion based upon my thoughts of the vehicles during the time I have driven them (two of them) and also having previously owned a 1986 Hyundai Pony (or Excel in the USA) I thought ... read more

2003 Tiburon GT V6, 6 speed

by
Jun 8, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, GT V6 power, 6 speed, Looks, 10 year/ 100,000 mile warr., features
Cons: backseat room, gas mileage
The Bottom Line: In short, I love this car. Turns heads, and with a 10 year/100,000 mile warr., no going wrong.

A great sporty car loaded with features without a terribly high price tag. No other company stand behind their cars with a 10 year/100,000 mile warr. either. Handles the road nicely, with enough pep on the V6 model to let you play when you want. The 6th ... read more

Smiling Shark!!

by
Apr 17, 2003 - Updated Dec 30, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Overall Styling, Features, Price, Handling, Sound System
Cons: Head Room, Back Seat Leg Room, ABS not a stand alone option
The Bottom Line: Looking at an RSX, Eclipse, Celica, or Stang- do yourself a favor, check out the Tiburon. You'll be pleased with the comparison, and leave with that extra 5 grand.

I looked at the Tiburon after looking at several other cars. I purchased the Tiburon about a month ago and I, frankly have never been more pleased with a new car. I purchased the GT-V6 with the 6-speed manual with Leather Interior. As stated in ... read more

Pros: Great Looks,Enough power out of the gt-v6,Great standard features.
Cons: poor quality sound system, too quiet for a sports car.
The Bottom Line: The Tiburon is a steal for a cheap fast and furious car.

First, I would like to say, that anyone not wanting to buy a Hyundai for reliability reasons, should reconsider.Ever since the early 90s, to present Hyundai has completly changed on the spectrum of reliability. In the 80s, you couldn't give a Hyundai ... read more
