Pros: It has a jaguar badge. Cons: It does not deserve a jaguar badge. The Bottom Line: This is no Jag its a ford for wannbe Jaguar drivers. If you want a Jag buy an S type, XK or XJ.
X Type=Reliable-Yes, Practical-Yes, Fast-No, A Jaguar-No Way
I have a 2003 X type 3.0 SE Saloon. I bought it new and have no covered 56,000 Miles. The car is basic, any claims to be a luxury car are false. Climate control is extra, heated seats-extra, headlamp washers-extra, useable headlights-extra, SatNav-extra, ...

Pros: snob appeal...people think it costs more than it really does Cons: Horrible brake noise that "can't" be fixed. The Bottom Line: Don't buy unless you like noisy brakes and spending a lot of time getting the car serviced.
The nicest thing about this car is the snob appeal. People (at least everyone I know) thinks the car costs way more than it does (like 40k more) and it is fun to say things like 'lets take the Jag for a drive'. That is where the fun ends though. I ...

Pros: Jaguar styling and ambiance, handling, sport seats, trunk space Cons: Proportions, sport suspension ride, rear seat room, option pricing The Bottom Line: Will sell to those who want the look and badge of a Jag for the lowest price. Others will buy something else.
A decade ago Ford spent $2.5 billion to buy Jaguar. At the time, Jaguar was in awful shape. Although its cars continued to be desired for their sensuous styling, clubby interiors, and excellent ride comfort, a widespread reputation for poor quality led ...

Pros: Beautiful inside & out. The Jaguar name for less $ Cons: Too expensive for what it is. The Bottom Line: Nice car, but there are better choices. I strongly suggest that you rent the car before buying one.
I had been thinking about buying the new Jag X-type for a couple of months. I noticed that Hertz rented them at the Los Angeles airport as part of their Prestige Collection, so I decided to rent one on my next trip there, which I just returned from. I...

Pros: Fast, Muscular Good Looks, Suberb Handling Cons: Cramped Rear Seat The Bottom Line: Looks like a Jaguar, but offers all the tire smoking, butt-kicking fun of a Hemi Cuda. A good car just got better.
Since its introduction, the Jaguar S-Type has received mixed reviews. Some say it’s nothing more than an expensive Ford, while most praise the elegant interior, luxurious ride and heritage inspired exterior design. Perhaps both criticisms are well...

Pros: Styling, ambiance, power, delightful steering, ride better than expected, character Cons: Cramped rear seat, chassis not as composed as that of some rivals The Bottom Line: Although the most powerful Jaguar lacks the refinement and technical excellence of some rivals, I found it much more enjoyable to drive than the typical German or Japanese premium sedan.
Back in the mid-1980s 200 horsepower was enough to attract luxury car customers’ attention. Now it’s not even enough to get the Ford Taurus any respect. (The hyperlinks lead to ...

Pros: Its a Jaguar! Very inexpensive. Nice interior. Good handling. Agile. Cons: Too much road noise. Small cabin. The Bottom Line: If you want a high end sedan with a small price tag this is one to consider.
Jaguar has stooped down to make this more affordable vehicle yet it is still a Jaguar. It is nimble and agile, with the new sleek Jaguar look. I had a X type but sold it and got a XJ8. For those who are financially limited I note that this sedan cannot...

Pros: Good handling, comfortable supportive seating, nice interior, impressive looking. Cons: Overpriced, lacking some documented features, disappointing mileage, average sound quality and no valet key! The Bottom Line: The X-type Jaguar is a lovely car with a good disposition and features all-wheel drive.
Unfortunately my experience with this Jaguar is colored by a sorry experience at this Chicago dealership. Nonetheless, this is my third Jaguar (previously having owned an XKE and an XJS). I've also owned a number of fine cars ranging from Corvettes ...

Pros: Great Styling, excellent interior, decent performance, and all-wheel drive Cons: Only one dealer in my state. The Bottom Line: Its a modern "classic" car. I enjoy driving it more than any other car I've owned. This vehicle is a superb value for the money.
My wife and I shopped for several weeks for this type of vehicle. We looked at BMW, Lexus, Volvo, and the Jaguar. After considering them all, the Jaguar stood out because it had more interior room, its styling was more attractive to us, and its ...

Pros: great styling, elegant interior, AWD Cons: small back seat The Bottom Line: A great car with quality craftsmanship inside and out

Pros: STANDARD all wheel drive, power everything, manual gearbox, great engine Cons: little noisy on the road, but not terrible. The Bottom Line: This car is not a ford as most people see it, it's PURE jaguar.
Is it possible for jaguar to have a sports sedan that starts at $29,000? oh yes, my friend, oh yes, it is. I couldn't believe it, a JAGUAR for $29,000(well, that's what it STARTS for). But, i was in the market for a new car, and decided to check this...

Pros: Interior, Bird's Eye maple, Overall styling, AWD, Trunk space, "Not a me too" Cons: Slightly rough auto tranny shifting, Rear styling The Bottom Line: I'd recommend the X-type to anyone in the market for a unique, sporty, luxury sedan.
I have owned this car for a little over a month now and couldn't be happier (1700mi's). Originally I thought that I would have liked the BMW 3-series or MB C-class better, but once I tried the X-type, I truly loved it. The X-type styling is unique, not ...
