Pros and cons of the 2003 tj sport

by
Dec 4, 2008 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Handles well, heater good, good mileage for modifications I made.
Still have power train warrantee
Cons: D35 (3.07) std D44 (4.11) wud be stronger
Defrost is not very good on windshield
The Bottom Line: Its for enjoyment & pleasure, built strong to last, fuel mileage sucks (wind resitance of a brick) I highly recommond one (only a jeep owner wud understand)

I bought mine second hand at a very down to earth price. Its equipped with a 5 speed manual 3.07 gearing (std), the heater is great in winter no need for a winter front, it has the power you would expect from a 4lit in line 6, I have made a few ... read more

Pros: - Terrific car if you are young - Plenty of attention
Cons: - Gas is HORRIBLE (TX - 16 gallon tank ONLY 200 miles) - Loud
The Bottom Line: Recommend for young and want attention. I will always keep my Jeep but go about things differently. You learn from experience. Read and take in, it helps to know

I have a Jeep Wrangler Sahara (02') and love/hate it... I have a body/suspension lift with 35 inch ProComp Tires... Terrific turning radius!!!! Problems Later down the road... - Gas is horrible (TX 16 gallon tank w/ ONLY 200 miles) - ... read more

Wrangler as Daily Driver.. 2003 Sport model

by
Sep 8, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Nimble; tight radius turnability; offroad capability; a handy little workhorse!
Cons: Non-aerodynamic; high dashboard for a short girl :)
The Bottom Line: Jeeps are great for nimble-bodied people who don't mind having to climb up into them!

I recently started driving, at age 27. I had been leary before, and all of the other vehicles that I test drove (pickups, SUVs, even a few larger sedans) felt wrong for me. I am newly married and do not plan on having kids; I needed a 4x4 because we have ... read more

03 SE 4cyl

by
May 31, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Small, fun to drive, very upgradeable
Cons: lacks power at highway speeds, not enough room for a large family
The Bottom Line: Nice to have if you like the open air and off road feel. If you are debating between it and a luxury vehicle you are comparing apples and oranges.

I purchased my SE in May of 2003 and now have about 41,000 miles on it. All and all it is a decent little vehicle, you just need to keep in mind it is a Jeep. It was originally purchased as a daily driver for my fiancÚ and now is a summer driver for ... read more

Mar 26, 2006 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: It's a wrangler, turn radius, it goes anywhere. it's got character
Cons: The expected noise,rough ride
The Bottom Line: You gotta love it and accept it for what it is and you will be happy..If you expect something it ain't, you will probably just complain.

If you understand and know what your getting(the best performing, and only, 4x4 for the price)when you buy it then you should have no complaints.. If your expecting a 4x4 luxury SUV or ANY luxury at all, this ain't it, and you will probably whine about ... read more

Love/Hate Relationship

by
Jun 23, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent for off-road, cruising around with the top down. Fun Fun Fun!
Cons: Terrible at everything else.
The Bottom Line: Ignore the comfort/roominess comments. Bottom line is if you think you'll like it, you'll love it -- otherwise, you'll hate it.

If you think you'd like a Wrangler, then you'll love it. If you're not sure, or you're looking for a second or commuting car, you'll hate it. Passengers over 30 years old will hate it. All but the most fearless dogs will get scared riding in the back ... read more

Pros: Great suspension, good gas mileage, sporty, cool and fun!

The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want - it's a good buy.

If there was ever a Jeep enthusiast, it's me. My love affair with these sturdy little buggers began more than a decade ago when my roommate at the time bought an '86 CJ7. He hand sanded the body down after repairing the bad spots and had it painted a ... read more

Never Again

by
Apr 19, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Fun to drive, never get held back due to weather, 4.0L engine
Cons: it's a lemon, Chrysler needs to be threatened to make standard warranty/lemon law repairs
The Bottom Line: I will never buy another Jeep, Chrysler, or Dodge product again. They sold me a lemon and refuse to take responsibility for their product.

I've had mine in the shop 6-7 times already and I've only had it for 7 months and 12,000 miles It's a wrangler...I expect it to be noisy, uncomfortable, and annoying...but it's so much fun to drive. My brakes WILL NOT stop squeaking. Jeep's ... read more

Born to Rock Crawl!!!!!

by
Feb 17, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: For competition grade 4x4 use, you only need to add a new suspension and tires.
Cons: 35" tires is about it on size with the stock axels, but that is enough.
The Bottom Line: Save to money and buy the lesser Wranglers unless you really intend to use it in the most extreme situations possible.

While fairly awesome stock. Add an advanced suspension, and your ready to compete in Rock Crawling events. A different take on this vehicle than some of the other reviewers. If you do not plan on modify'n it and using the Rubicon to really tackle ... read more

Feb 9, 2004 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Traction, Power, Traction, Looks, Traction, Handling, Traction, Suspension
Cons: Speed limits on the Air Lockers, Gas Mileage
The Bottom Line: If you plan on really going off the road a lot, get the Rubicon. If you plan on only cruising the beach, buy a cheaper Wrangler.

Yes, I've gotten my 2003 Wrangler Rubicon stuck many times. Now that that's out of the way, lets get down to the nuts and bolts of this vehicle. Sitting on 31-inch mud tires, with body armor, extra skid plates, and RUBICON prominently displayed on the ... read more

I'm Impressed By My First 4x4

by
Nov 29, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Classic styling, torquey 6-cylinder, comfortable seats, affordable 4x4.
Cons: Fuel efficiency, storage space.
The Bottom Line: Recommended for young drivers who like to explore off road. (The ride might be a little stiff for older folks.)

I bought my 2003 Jeep Wrangler X on November 11th, 2002. I have the soft top and full-size metal doors with glass windows. It's been a little over a year now and it has grown on me. I don't really have a good reason for choosing a Jeep. I traded in my ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Awesome fun, huge cred, Visibility with the roof down.
Cons: Lack of luggage space, economy, Visibility with the roof up.
The Bottom Line: This is such a great vehicle - wonder why they don't have to advertise them? BUY ONE TODAY!

First Things first - this car has virtually no luggage space. If there is only two of you, it will be less of a concern, as the rear seat neatly and simply folds up, thanks to a handle on the back of the seat, easily accessible from inside or outside the ... read more

I've just picked up a 2003 TJ Sport. In the US they're known as Wranglers. I haven't blown through a full tank of gas in it yet so an up date will follow later on. With that being said, I'll try to give you a low down on what I've found out so far. ... read more

Cloud #9

by
May 11, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Go anywhere, do anything. Curbs no problem! Decent Safety Ratings.
Cons: Could use a little more power from the engine.
The Bottom Line: I definately recommend it because of its outstanding quality throughout the years. Jeep is a community that will never stop sharing. This is definately a great value.

If you want refinement then this is not the vehicle for you. If you want to be different without having to spend alot and be part of the Jeep family (we wave at each other when passing) then this is the car for you. You only need to buy one. They never ... read more

Pros: Unstopable off road, very fun to drive, real head-turner in Intense Blue
Cons: Limited storage, not fast, terrible fuel economy
I love my Wrangler Rubicon for what it is. It is rough, noisy and drives like a Jeep. It is not fast or smooth and it does not handle like it is on rails. It is awesome with the top down and bombing around off road. It is far more capable than my ... read more

Cons: Seats don't move back enough and gas milage isn't the best.
