My 2003 Kia Sorento

by seastarz
Feb 28 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Interior, Reliability, Overall Look
Cons: Lights
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car again and I have recommended it to several people. It is a high quality car without having to pay for a name.

I bought my Kia Sorento in 2003 under the influence of my husband. I never in my life thought that I would drive a Kia, but after the test drive I was hooked! The interior is very luxurious and has definitely held up over time. I commute 70 miles/week ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Warranty games with Kia, electrical, gas mileage
The Bottom Line: Do not waste you money! You will spend a lot of time trying to get it fixed.

I am sorry to those that say that "Kia...that is supposed to be a great vehicle...aren't they the ones with the really long warranty??" Beware....There is a reason for the very long warranty -- you will NEED it! We have owned a 2003 Kia Sorento from new ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Stylish, nice features are standard.
Cons: Vehicles should be dependable for at least 100k miles.
The Bottom Line: I would like to help someone avoid the pitfalls of purchasing a sub-standard vehicle. I wouldn't buy it again, and neither should you.

I purchased a brand new 2003 Kia Sorento in August of 2003. I was very pleased with everything, except the gas mileage for the first 58k miles. Then the vehicle would not start and it turned out to be the intake manifold. It was replaced under the 60k ...

Dec 13 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, Ride, Handling, EVERYTHING!!
Cons: A little slow
The Bottom Line: Buy this SUV if you are looking for Lexus style and quality, without spending the Lexus price.

WE have had our 03 Sorento for about 3 months now and we love it. We have been getting about 20 mpg, so I think it depends on how you driver it. I am not heavy on the gas pedal because I know that it is not the fastest on the street. Other then that I ...

Pros: Styling, Towing capacity, Full 4x4 operation, Quality fit and finish
Cons: Fuel mileage
The Bottom Line: Great ride.

My wife and I spent quite a few months test driving different SUV's. We seemed to be getting nowhere fast in our search for the SUV that would best suit our purpose. Those we had looked at were, Hyundia Santa Fe, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Saturn ...

Kia Sorento Still Running Strong

by navek
Aug 13 '05

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fit and Finish, Quiet Smooth Ride, Comfortable Seats (front and rear)
Cons: Gas mileage could be better, but not bad for an SUV of this weight.
The Bottom Line: Solid Vehicle - do not be scared away by the Kia name plate. The Sorento is Toyota quality at a Kia price.

I have a 03 Kia Sorento EX for my company vehicle, which I was allowed to pick out based on the company's price allowance. So I was looking for bang for the buck. The Sorento delivers on that point. Most of the folks as work laughed when I told them ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: A great looking vehicle, good price, long warranty
Cons: Unreliable! Kia is very difficult to deal with!
The Bottom Line: Bottom Line is spend a little more money and get a reliable SUV..you will be happier in the long run.

Yes, I own two Kia Sorentos. I bought one in Nov of 2003 and enjoyed it a great deal and thought it was a steal for the warranty and what I paid for it. So, I bought my wife one as well (a 2004 Model) a year later.. That is where the story takes a sad ...

A Very Solid, Second-Hand Purchase

by kedsand1
Feb 14 '05 - Updated Mar 14 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Captivating styling; well-suited engine; maneuverability around town; leather and luxury are inexpensive
Cons: Sub-par gas mileage; as-yet undetermined reliability; live rear axle overcompensates for road imperfections
The Bottom Line: The Sorento is a great buy at any price, considering the amenities, looks, and performance. But, you may pay at the gas pump in the long run.

Well, my wife and I have owned our Kia Sorento for about two months now. Considering the low resale value of the Sorento (probably due to Kia's not-so-stellar reputation), along with the numerous amenities included in the EX version we bought (leather ...

Pros: Body on full frame. Solid all around.STILL QUIET WITH 25000 MILES..11/03/2004
Cons: Low fuel economy.NOT THAT BAD..UPDATED 11/03/2004
The Bottom Line: You cant beat it for the price. Price not being the object, the quality is first rate. Full frame, side curtain airbags, class lll hitch and fun to drive.

I liked an article by Planecrazy. He is a car guy to the core. After shopping around for a couple of months, I ordered a Nissan Murano. They had one come in and I took it for a test drive.NICE RIDE. I have the need to pull a trailer once in a while and ...

Cons: Fuel mileage
The Bottom Line: If you are not concerned about fuel mileage the Kia Sorento offers best bang for the buck.

My wife and I spent quite a few months test driving different SUV's. We seemed to be getting nowhere fast in our search for the SUV that would best suit our purpose. Those we had looked at were, Hyundia Santa Fe, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Saturn ...

Great vehicle at a fantastic price

by mikeinfla
Jul 20 '03 - Updated Dec 15 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Stylish and sporty with all the extras for $5-10K less than competition
Cons: So far, only the gas mileage. Update 12/15/2003: over time gas mileage now almost 20mpg!
The Bottom Line: If you want a fully-loaded luxury SUV, and don't require a 3rd row of seats, check out the Sorento. It's very well built and costs thousands less than closest competitor.

The first vehicle we test drove before buying a new SUV was the Sorento. Because of its total package (warranty, styling, luxury package, etc.) and affordable pricing, we set it as the standard for all others to beat. Next, we test drove the GMC ...

Pros: -Power -Value -Styling -Sure footed 4x4 capability
Cons: -Gas mileage -Accessories (for now)
The Bottom Line: Forget about dropping loads of cash for a great SUV...give KIA a shot and you won't regret the decision!

I have owned my Kia Sorento since February 2003, and can't stop scratching my head at how a company could hit a home run while launching its first SUV! I've never owned a large truck, but am a veteran of quality-made vehicles: I've owned a Toyota, a ...

May 05 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: I bought it, so it must be nice!
Cons: Could handle better around curves
The Bottom Line: If you buy a Sorento, go all the way. Get the luxury package, you will love it.

Let me start this review by saying I am picky.

I looked at several SUVs before making my decision. I did not like the Liberty Jeep because it reminded me of someone driving through the woods and I did not like the tire in the back. The Sante...

Kia Sorento

by kckiper
May 04 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Goodies! (Sunroof, Keyless Remote Entry System, 6-CD changer, heated seats, ABS, spoiler, roof rack, etc.
Cons: woodgrain interior, gas mileage.
The Bottom Line: Do your homework on mid-size SUV's and don't buy before you test-drive a Kia Sorento.

This is the first SUV I have ever bought. I had a 2000 Dodge Caravan that I traded in for a Sorento EX 4X2, with luxury, spoiler, and ABS. I wanted an SUV this time because I didn't want to give up cargo and passenger space. I also had money to spend on...
