Pros: Smooth drive train. Build Quality. Driving position. Agile handling. Cons: Transmission gearing. Trunk access. Some cheap looking or nonfuctional interior trim. The Bottom Line: While it may fall a bit shy compared to German counterparts, reliability and build quality more than compensates.
I traded in a 99 BMW 328i for this car. A comparison of the two sports sedan would show a an edge to the BMW in ride and acceleration. Handling in the Lexus, while very responsive, showed it's tighter suspension in a harsher ride. Both cars are fun to dri ...

Pros: Excellent styling, nice handling, high end audio system, reasonable price. Cons: Upper dash is ugly and cheap The Bottom Line: For reliability, excellent handling and second to none quality, this is the vehicle to own.
Recently I traded in my 2002 Mercedes Benz C240 on a brand new Lexus IS300. I opted for the crystal white paint scheme with a full tan leather interior. I chose the 17" graphite polished wheels, rear deck spoiler, E Shift Automatic Transmission and power...

Pros: Build Quality, Quiet, Handling, Great Stereo, Comfort, Lexus' infamous service Cons: None. Its a Lexus The Bottom Line: A great car to drive and live with. Buy it and pocket the change.
A couple of months ago, I finally got the nerve to sell my 2001 Volkswagen Beetle (read my other review "The Friday Cars").
Before I decided on the Lexus, I had a look at alot of reviews about the car on epinions, motoring reviews and other...

Pros: Stylish interior/exterior, n/a engine with boost potential, sporty yet roomy in one complete package Cons: Sporty side allows road to rumble through cockpit, sound system highs need help, major understeer The Bottom Line: If you would love to find a car with underlying sport potential and family sedan practicality, then this is the car for you.
The Lexus IS300 is a fantastic car for those who want a mix of sport & luxury without the 3 series price. Obviously this is the answer to the European domination in this market up to this point in time. The car handles well but could use suspension...

Pros: The fact that it turns heads. Cons: The lack of power The Bottom Line: Overall, very good car, but underpowered.
This car has to be one of the most exhilerating cars on the road. It is sleek, sporty, and has world class handaling. I bought one back in September and I couldn't be more proud of myself. Everywhere I go I can see people point at my car with an ahh on...

Great luxury car for the price

Pros: Fantastic reliablity. Cons: Low profile tires that are easily damaged. Wind and tire noise.
This is an interesting vehicle. Being part of the Lexus family, it was obviously intended to be a luxury car. It is not really that - it is more of a quasi-sports car. With paddle shifting, you get the feel of a stick shift without all of the hassle. The gas mileage is pretty good for the size of engine and type of vehicle (18-25 MPG). The sound system is better than most vehicles and the multi-CD changer works flawlessly. The heated seats and climate control work well (even for rear passengers). The rear seating is adequate (not fantastic, but not bad).
The car does have its flaws. Its low profile tires create two problems. The first is that the tires are expensive and are prone to blowouts if you hit the smallest pothole. We have gone through nearly 3 full sets in just under 75K miles (good thing for lifetime tire replacement insurance). The second is road noise. This car is very noisy. Both tire and wind noise present a real issue if you want to converse in the vehicle.
At around $30 grand out the door, this is a well designed luxury vehicle.

Pros: Does everything well and is trouble free. Cons: Gas mileage. Just doesn't quite handle like an Audi.
I traded in a 1998 Audi A4 after 49,000 miles and more repairs than anyone would believe in a modern vehicle.
The Lexus does everything right... the Audi did everything more right... when it worked... which was rare.
After a year of ownership absolutely nothing has gone wrong with the Lexus. It handles great (but the Bridgestone tires 'gotta go), has plenty of power, and is very comfortable on long rides. You can toss it around and, unless you look back, you'll never realize you're in a wagon (strongly suggest you don't toss the car around with a 21" computer monitor in the back... but it's nice to know you could).
I still miss the Audi but I've learned to accept that a weekly trip to the dealer comes as part of the package. After a year of ownership I am convinced I made the right choice. Never liked kraut anyway.
