Beautiful, Solid, Comfortable...

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, Reliability, Easy to Drive, Gas Mileage, Cargo Room
Cons: Make sure you have the intake gasket replaced on all 3.4L V6's!!!
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this to anyone needing a minivan. Gas mileage of a car and room of a full-sized van.

We bought our 2003 Pontiac Montana with 95,000 miles on the odometer. We loved the looks and options it came with and the reviews were better than the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan (the other van we were looking at). We've never been happier with a ... read more

2003 Montana (Should I keep it?)

by
Feb 28, 2005 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: VersaTrak & independant rear suspension is much better. Stowable rear seat is a nice touch.
Cons: Poor front suspension. I think the tires were low mileage (check before you buy).
The Bottom Line: I don't think I would buy/lease another. Too much time in the shop.

Well, living here in Alberta, we needed a van that would have all wheel drive for the tough winters and room for our 3 boys and all their stuff. As we had owned a 1998 previously we thought it would be great to get the new 03' with VersaTrak. It came ... read more

Used to have an Odyssey - like this better!

by
Jul 19, 2004 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: rides great, very roomy, back-up safety system is great
Cons: Both side doors aren't automatic, radio a bit too loud in back
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend it. It's a very reliable car and has many great extras, like the back-up safety feature. We are delightfully surprised by this vehicle!

As my title states, my first foray into the minivan world was the purchase of a 2002 Honda Odyssey. I loved this van and would've kept it but it was a lease and we knew that we really wanted to buy. We couldn't afford to buy an Odyssey, so we decided ... read more

2003 Montana, Best Van I've owned to date

by
Dec 11, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great looking, cup holders everywhere, smooth ride, best van I've owned by far.
Cons: At this time, I honestly don't have anything negative to report.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this van to anyone, van lovers or not. Immense interior, great looking on the outside, and not a problem mechanically that I have found yet.

I chose to write this review before reading anyone else's review. This will help prevent my input from being swayed. I bought a 200 Pontiac Montana just two months ago, trading in a 1998 Ford Windstar (for which you'll find a pretty bad review on this ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfortable, good on gas, reliable, and most importantly, fast!
Cons: smaller back seats, not much room between middle seats
The Bottom Line: Great van for anyone who needs space, but also like being able to put the pedal down once in a while.

My mom recently started to search the car market after our '95 Chevy Astro started to get unreliable. One thing you should know is that Iím a 16-year-old guy. From the time my mom started looking, I was pushing for the nice little Subaru Loyale sedan that ... read more

Looks like a van, drives like a car

by
Jun 25, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Drives like a car, Sporty(4 a van), love the DVD package.
Cons: very little storage under driver and passenger seat. No ideal place for spare change.
The Bottom Line: The Montana is worth the money. If a mini van can be cool, this one has done it. If you need room, safety, and features; go drive this van.

Well, what can I say. I never thought I'd like a mini van. Its just one of those vehicles that you c ... read more

Feb 12, 2003 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: There is enough room for me and my two children without being cramped.
Cons: There is really no way of bringing up the outside look.
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend any one to purchase this vehicle. I feel they could do better.

The Montana is a nice van,but my problem is that it lost it's pickup in less than 7,000 miles. My gas mileage is not what I expected I put 20.00 in the tank and the next day I had to add more. (I had drove less than a hundred miles.) The trunk space ... read more

Growing up my Dad worked for Dodge & he always drove a brand new Caravan... So I learned to drive behind the wheel of a minivan. Fast forward 15 years to present day & I have hardly touched a minivan of any sort since my teenage years. I've owned loads ... read more

Fell in love with the 8 passenger roomy interior. Middle seat does not go down to well. Drives pretty well. I have had this van two years and it has never been in the shop except for maintenance, Rear window wiper fell completely off for no reason. ... read more

Pros: Great vehicle from May to September
Cons: HEAT DOES NOT WORK! SUCKS! BAD!
I have a 2003 Montana with approx. 25,000 miles on it. It has been in the shop repeatedly over the past two winters. The dealership (in conjunction with the area service manager and GM's technical support) have finally said: "We can't fix your heat, deal ... read more

Pros: Competitively priced, nicely equipped, very reliable.
Cons: Way too many automatic safety devices, but they all do these days.
I didn't want my wife driving a "mini-van", especially from GM, but I gave in and bought it in September 2003. The incentives were very generous compared with the competition. We had a full size van before, and loved it. But, I must admit, we are ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Great gas mileage, comfort, and road handling.
Cons: Cruise control awkward to use in comparison to steering wheel mounted controls.
On this years holiday, we covered 600 to 700 Km on many days, and we exited the van with no major cramping or back ache. Had excellent gas mileage considering the size of the vehicle ( 29 to 31 mpg - Canadian ). The V6 engine gives more than enough ... read more
