Pros: 6-speed transmission, Optional navigation system, Versatility. Cons: Engine could use more low end power, Hard to find, V6 fuel economy. The Bottom Line: The 2003 Pontiac Vibe represents a good value, although I suggest shopping around first.
When I first saw the Pontiac Vibe GT, I honestly thought it was the new SVT Focus Wagon. In-fact, I said to my friend who was with me car shopping, "I didn't know the Focus SVT came in wagon form" (which it doesn't). This was said from a...

Pros: Looks better than similar Aztek, room for four adults, cargo space Cons: Soggy seat and suspension, awful driving position, higher price than Matrix The Bottom Line: The Vibe GT thoroughly fails to deliver on the sports car driving dynamics promised by its engine and advertising.
About five years ago auto manufacturers began to realize that consumers sets of needs did not always match up with existing product categories. What if someone wanted to image and handling of a sports car, but the carrying capacity of an SUV? Or the ...

Pros: Low price; stylish; high gas mileage Cons: Not much power; little cargo space The Bottom Line: Pontiac Vibe is a good vehicle, but the folks at Pontiac need to make certain improvements to make it a great car. Maybe in 2004, they will.
If you're the type who likes to attend car shows and check out the latest potential vehicle models, then you probably enjoy the anticipation that a new line of car or truck can bring. It's always fun to sit back and wait for the new vehicle models to...

Pros: Good Looking, Versatile, Nice Highway Manners Cons: AWD Version has least power, Funky Cargo Cover The Bottom Line: A worthy alternative to compact wagons, but falls short of true sport wagons such as the WRX. Reasonably priced even with options.
“That guy is giving me a creepy Vibe” a friend once said. Even without a dictionary definition we all know what she meant. Like the word “vibe,” the vehicle Vibe is one of those things you can’t quite put your finger on when looking for a written...

Pros: Fuel-Efficient, Toyota engineered engine, safety ratings, and fun to drive Cons: Instrument Panel hard to read sometimes with sunshine glare The Bottom Line: Are you looking for a great ride, fuel-efficiency, comfort, an overall quality Toyota made car, and many extras? Look no further because the Vibe has all that and more.
Update: 4/2008 We still love this car, and the gas mileage is a great feature with oil spiking to over $100 a barrel. We haven't had any problems, and the car is still like brand new. We keep it maintained regularly. We would buy another in a ...

Pros: Tons of Cargo room, AWD is great in snow, great gas mileage, high seating position Cons: None!!!! Well, just noisy breaks. The Bottom Line: The vibe is an awesome combination of functionality and value, with lots of space, plenty of pep, great handling, good gas mileage, and oh yeah fun! I love it!
I absolutely love my Vibe! When I went to buy my Vibe, it was difficult to find reviews from actual owners of Vibes, so I decided I would write a review after a few months to help others when trying to decide on a new car. Ive owned my Vibe since...

Pros: New, fast, spacious, well designed. Cons: Funky reverse gear The Bottom Line: A modern cross-over vehicle that has all the benefits of an SUV but drives like a sports car, and is good for the environment. I love it.
Well, it's not really a GM product, as it comes from the Toyota/GM Nummy plant.
At my age, I am certainly not in GM's target demographics for this car, and that's just too bad. It's a free country. After driving a little less than 35 years...

Pros: Toyota reliability with Pontiac styling. Cons: High demand + Low availability = Wait for delivery & Little price flexibility. The Bottom Line: Sturdy feel. Import level engineering and quality. Definitely a winner... if GM gets them out en masse to dealerships. The Vibe should be on top of your short list.
I received my Vibe on March 22, 2002. It took the dealer here in Jackson, MS a full week to find one with the features I wanted (more below) and one in the color I wanted (Envy - lime green) has yet to be manufactured with the features I was requesting....

Pros: Great space, excellent gas mileage, rack capability. Cons: Ride, visibility--but not enough to worry about. The Bottom Line: Every vehicle is a compromise. This vehicle is my ultimate compromise. I wish I could buy two and store one for when the first wears out. Buy it!

Pros: good cargo space, sporty look, roomy back seat Cons: dashboard rattles, heater problems, poor rear vision and winter performance, deteriorating paint and plastic parts The Bottom Line: Look for alternatives. Better quality in another car will pay in the long run.
So many reviews of the Vibe read as though they were lifted from a GM advertisement--sporty car with all of the utility and ruggedness of the SUV, but without gas guzzling and handling like a truck. Allow me to recount the experience of someone who has ...

We have a 2003 Vibe and are very pleased with it: Features: 1) all-wheel-drive: This has got to be the most stable vehicle I've ever driven in heavy snow. I've driven much heavier front-wheel drives, rear-wheel drives, and even 4wd vehicles in the ...

Pros: Versatile, peppy, handling, options for the price. Cons: Extremely poor winter handling, e-brake location, reverse location/beeper, tranny not smooth The Bottom Line: I would recommend the car to anyone that has a lifestyle appropriate to its qualities and that doesn't live in the snow belt.
Ok, I've now owned my Vibe GT for about 6 months and 15,000 miles. I purchased this car in February ...

2006 UPDATE: I still love my Vibe. I have had zero problems with it and I continue to be thankful for the 30+ MPG on the highway. The best features continue to be gas mileage, still handles solid like new, and other than oil changes and tire rotations ...

Pros: Cost, mileage, interior volume, value for money Cons: Haven't found any after 2 and a half years. The Bottom Line: What a great little car. We love it. Ultra reliable and comfortable, great on mileage and has lots of room. If you want to drag race look elsewhere.
If you need a fuel efficient, comfy, relatively spacious mini-SUV, this car is for you. We have the base model with the 5-speed. I added the side airbags and ABS for safety. We currently have about 33000 miles on it and haven't had a single ...
