Pros: Affordable, mostly reliable, decent fuel consumption, wagon is spacious with no similar entry level competition Cons: Cheap looking and feeling, coarse drive, dull. The Bottom Line: If price is your main consideration, shop carefully and it should be perfectly serviceable.
If a well built compact car that is also FUN is your goal perhaps look elsewhere.
This is a long term review of the 2004 Focus wagon model.I bought this for my mother almost four years ago to replace a minivan she wasn't comfortable driving. She felt the minivan was too big but was accustomed to the kind of space offered--that ... read more

Pros: Nice handling. Excellent standard equipment sound system. High driver's position due to seat design. Cons: Mediocre mileage for vehicle class. Poor fit and function. Brakes squeal even when new. The Bottom Line: If you have an opportunity to buy this vehicle used, I think it's OK if your expectations are not too high. I wouldn't pay book for it though.
I bought a 2004 Focus Wagon in April of '04. I had long been a devotee of the Subaru wagons and when they gussied them up out of my price range, I bought a 1998 Saturn SW1, an excellent car which the geniuses at GM discontinued. So when it came time to ... read more

Pros: Her reliability is awesome. Coupled with versatility and gas mileage, It's a good buy. Cons: The only draw back is Interior space, but hey it's a compact.
I have owned the station wagon form of the 2004 Ford Focus for 3 years now, and she has been great! I have put her through the ringer, literally. I drive her for 125 miles a day, at least half down gravel roads on a delivery route, and also

I bought a brand new 2000 Ford Focus and had the radio go out while still under warranty. Then at about 90,000 had to unexpectedly replace the ignition switch.(When I tried to start it,the key wouldn't turn leaving me stranded in another town.) I

Pros: cheap, reliable Cons: gas mileage
For the last few years the Focus has been a cheap, reliable car. It doesn't have a lot of frills, but it does get the job done. Myself, wife, and 2 dogs have made numerous road trips in comfort and had plenty of room. The only point I have been
