Pros: Price, outward visibility, features, warranty, controls, MPG Cons: Seat comfort, noise, tractor-like engine sounds, oveboosted steering that lacks road feel The Bottom Line: The Kia Optima is a decent car with good price and feature content and excellent warranty. But make sure that you can get comfortable...
Basing your opinion on rental cars might be dangerous. Rental cars are not broken-in properly, are abused and fed the cheapest gasoline. I recall renting a Mitsubishi Galant that behaved and subjectively felt ...

Pros: Heat and A/C work GREAT Cons: Some ergonomics, body roll The Bottom Line: Give it a spin. If you can afford it, get the V6 engine.
In January of 2005 totaled my Mazda 626 and I purchased an Imperial Blue 2004 Kia Optima LX V6 with cloth seats. After 1 year of ownership that includes a few trips in excess of 200 miles one way, here is my opinion. I purchased this car for two ...

Pros: Great warranty; good price. Nice styling. Good radio. Cons: Seats are terrible. Dash and console not the greatest. Different sized cupholders-bah! The Bottom Line: If warranty and price outweigh comfort in your book, buy it.
Bought our 2004 Optima over a year ago from a Kia dealership in Virginia. 27K miles and it has run consistently well. Doors open wide, easy to get in and out of. We have the leather interior; looks and feels sharp but the seats leave something to be ...

Pros: Reliability, the stying inside and out, gas mileage is especially good on long trips. Cons: Dents easily, maybe a 250+ hp engine, 100,000 mile powertrain and bumper-to-bumper warranty. The Bottom Line: Buy the car for reliability and looks. Better than paying more for a nameplate like Honda or Toyota. Makes sense for a family that needs excellent transportation on the cheap!
When I bought this Optima a couple years ago I was hesitant about it's reliability and prayed that I made the right choice. The sticker price of our 2004 Kia Optima EX V6 was just a little over $19,000, considering the base price of the Accord and ...

Pros: Price, fairly comfortable for small framed folks. Big back seat, huge trunk. Cons: Lower-than-expected gas mileage, inconsistent shifting in automatic transmission. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle.
Purchased used with 53,000+ miles in April of 2007. Was previously a rental vehicle via CarFax VIN # check. Was looking to downsize from my 1996 Chevy Blazer. Loved the looks of the car and the color, a nice burgundy type red. It's only a 4 cylinder, so ...

Pros: Reliability, mileage, price Cons: Small concerns: electric lock malfunctions, dash and steering wheel cracking The Bottom Line: Recommended--for the reasonable price you get excellent dependabilty
When I bought my Kia Optima used through Enterprise Rent-a-Car, I wasn’t sure what I was getting. Consumer Reports indicated that Kia and Hyundai products were better than they had been in past years, but since not much time had gone by, there was just ...

Pros: looks good, nice interior, quiet engine, good pickup. Cons: transmission sometimes seems "indecisive" at 30-40 mph.
