Pros: always provide us with great service, very easy to use, many locations to work with Cons: could seem expensive
It's odd when it comes to some things that people decide to review, because a lot of time normal services are overlooked until you have something negative to say about them. With me, I use FedEx all the time, and it has become such a routine part of my ...

Pros: Sometimes my packages get here on time. Cons: Drivers avoid delivering packages like two magnets of the same pole.
FedEx sucks. Their drivers are among the laziest people on the face of the planet. They must need assisted respiration to even breathe. What's the point of getting my package here in 2 days, if you're only going to stick around long enough to ring the...

Marking Business Delivery Residential to Avoid Delivery Time
by kurt92168 ,Mar 05 '06
Pros: In general FedEx normally gets it right Cons: Deceptive marketing practices/Doesn't honor promises
On 4 different occasions (in the San Diego Area) we sent packages to business locations (office buildings I have been to) and the FedEx driver has been late. They mark the tracking information as residential to avoid having to have someone sign for package. In addition their policy started in September 2005 they started charging a fee to obtain a signature on a package. I don't have a major problem with the fee except they make it difficult on their web shipping to select that option. In general their services have declined in the past 6 months... what is going on??? We are getting ready to pull our account and go back to UPS which seems to be getting it right once again.

Fedex always SUX

Pros: NONE Cons: Expensive, not reliable.
Never use Fedex if you absolutely have to get it there. I have used overnight, second day, ground. The tracking service sucks. I've seen my tracking number say that the package was on the truck and out for delivery. The next day they changed it to say it was shipped two days later than it actually was and moved the delivery date up three days. Emailing them gets you nowhere. Use any other service except Fedex. How can it be on the truck out for delivery and the next day not even be in my state????? They suck!!!!! They lie, they change the status to suit themselves.

FedEx...slower than pony express.
by neecer ,Dec 15 '05
Pros: Nothing was broken in my packages. Cons: slow deliver, puts things in rain and snow unprotected.
My latest shipment of inventory for my home business rode around on a fedex truck for 5 days before it was delivered to me. All this time, their website kept telling me each night "Local weather delay, delivery attempted." Oddly enough, UPS delivered 3 of those days with NO PROBLEMS!!!
FedEx is always late. Once, I had a shipment of inventory sent from the same place on the same day. one came by UPS, the other by FedEx. I received UPS (with a great smile and conversation w/ my driver) on Friday at noon. I received FedEx the following Wednesday at 7:30pm.
So, in our business operations, if a company will only use FedEx to ship, we buy elsewhere. It's not worth the headache of never knowing if their drivers will feel like getting to your house that night or not.

FedEx 2day air only takes SEVEN DAYS
by horatio324 ,Aug 30 '05
Pros: Cool name. Cons: Umm, they DONT deliver.
I recently purchased an item online from circuit city; living about 100 miles from the closest one, I shop a bit online. I PAID FOR FedEx 2day delivery. I RECEIVED the package SEVEN days later. I called on day 5 and asked, "Where's my package?" and they said, "Oh we sorry - it got bumped to another truck". On day 6 THEY called and said, "Our driver is lost - can you give us directions?" Ack. Then it finally got here on day SEVEN. This is FALSE ADVERTISING from FedEx or Circuit City, or both, that they can get anything to you when they say they will. This has been my fourth, and LAST experience with FedEx, as the other three times were just as much as a cluster as this one was. May their stock fall and they get 4 flat tires! Ahhhhhhhh!

Fed Ex Is The Absolute Worst
by truthbetold2 ,Jan 25 '06
Pros: None. Cons: Lazy, rude, incompetent, inconvenient and simply do not give a damn about addressees.
First, they left an illegible slip. You cannot read the addressee. Secondly, they wrote down the wrong tracking number (They inserted extra numbers). Other numbers within the tracking number were illegible on the slip. It took me 20 minutes dealing with a hellish computer activated phone response system before somehow managing to get through to a rude human being.
I had asked the seller to send the package to arrive next Monday, explaining that that is the only day that I can and will possibly be home to sign for the package. Fed Ex made the first delivery attempt today, which is Wednesday. I asked and they will not delivery the package on Monday. They insist on making failed deliveries tomorrow and Friday -- although they know this is pointless -- and then sending the item back to the seller who is on the other side of the continent. Also, they will not let me drive to a Fed Ex location and pick up the package. At least with UPS, lame as it is, you can drive to some obscure UPS branch and wait in line to pick up your item.

FedEx needs better Maps or drivers that can read
by hglintner ,May 15 '05

And now it will take 2 more days to come back Can't these guys read a simple label or maybe they have no idea where they are. and then the driver my or may not leave it at my door. Causing me to drive to their terminal 15 miles away. But what is really disturbing is this happens quite often. well no more when I need something shipped I will insist the don't use Fed Ex.

Fedex poor very poor service!!!
by hermes777 ,Aug 15 '05
Pros: They are still traded on the stock market!!! Cons: Hopefully not for long!!!
FEDEX,is probably the worst experience I have ever had with a package service, and I will try to avoid using them in the future.I sent an item for repair to the USA,and the item was repaired, and sent back after a period of several months.I must not only pay the repair,I must pay the shipping, repair, and the duty on the entire value of the item sent for repair, as I did not think to have a complete and recent evaluation of clearance from customs on the German side, of the Item sent.I was absolutely appalled with the FEDEX employees attitude, sarcastic, rude, and definitely not a company to rely upon under any circumstances whatsoever.A company I would strongly say is disorganized at best, and becoming worse.

FedEx--lousy service
by seriousgear ,Feb 16 '07
Pros: NONE Cons: A delivery service that doesn't deliver or provide service.
I've had it with FedEx. The ground driver on my route consistently leaves my packages at another business. Why? Our businesses have the same first 4 letters in our names--at least that's all I can figure out. Today the 2 day driver came with the package that was supposed to be here yesterday while I was at the business next door, having left a sign saying I'd be back in 5 minutes. He couldn't even be bothered to leave the package at the next door business. What a lousy excuse for "service".

Fedex Loses Million+ dollars worth of my paintings then tells me to P#SS OFF
by sirflying ,Jan 24 '06
Pros: Masters at avoiding responsibility for their bumbling and apathetic method of doing business. Cons: Not enough space..I could give you a million..Literally
I have been trying to get Fedex to retrieve my box of Paintings (Early Dufy and Van Dongen oils) that their driver left at the wrong address(a construction site). As there was nobody there he also neglected to get a mandatory signature or call any of the contact numbers on the box....I get promises every day to go out and get the box and to call me with the status but to date neither is happening(even after emailing Owner Fred)..My insurance is not paying as they say it was the gross negligence of fedex that lost the box and one of their demands was signature required(as was mine). They said I have to go after fedex and fedex is saying their disclaimer limits damages to $100 and are not working too hard at retrieving it(in fact they act as if they don't have to rush..it is my problem apparently). I have been told that their actions in this matter makes their disclaimer worth less than toilet paper...I hope so. I certainly feel like doing a DHL or UPS commercial right about now.

by napcdan ,Sep 28 '06
Pros: Can't think of one. Cons: Poor service. Even worse communication.
What a terrible experience. From Florida to California, then 3 days and counting to get it from the adjacent city to me!

FedEx is the Worst!!
by stitchmine ,Sep 19 '07
Pros: None Cons: Unreliable, late delivery, poor service that can’t tell you anything
If you are looking for a shipping service for your business you should go anywhere but FedEx. They are not the company the once were. Late delivery and poor service permeate this shell of a company.
I am still waiting (6PM) for the delivery of a 2-day business shipment. 200 bags that we need to embroider and we held production awaiting delivery. Stupid us. We thought FedEx would provide the same service as UPS. Were we wrong. No can tell me anything but its on the truck. Unfortunately the vendor we dealt with uses FedEx. No more dealing with vendors unless they use UPS or can use our account number.
My suggestion is go with UPS for delivery. STAY AWAY FROM FedEx!!!

you do the math
by alaskana ,Jan 30 '08
Pros: They are reliable but slow Cons: Priority mail is much cheaper and just as fast
Our local FedEx drivers are great, but 2 day service to Alaska stretches into many days. I could see adding an extra day because it's Alaska, but FedEx adds a few extra days. Here is the tracking for FedEx 2 day from California to Juneau:
Ship date Jan 29, 2008
Estimated delivery Feb 4, 2008 by 5:00 PM
Destination JUNEAU, AK
Service type FedEx 2Day Service
You do the math.

Poor customer service, Poor delivery flexibility.
by collinsdp ,Feb 21 '07
Pros: Great ability to track delivery on-line. Cons: Poor ability to deliver in a timely manner.
I'm waiting to receive my new laptop which is being delivered via FEDEX. However FEDEX delivers while I am at work and the sender is requiring in person delivery signature confirmation. Since I work during the day...that won't happen anytime soon and I'll wind up having to drive over an hour (out of state) to their drop off location. They cannot or will not use the local (in town) FEDEX office because FEDEX Ground and FEDEX Air are two separate companies. How silly is that??? So something I should receive today (Tuesday) I'll wind up getting on Saturday.

Fed Ex Does Not Deliver
by threshf1 ,Sep 01 '06
Pros: None. Cons: They call it 2Day but its really Hold for pickup.
Fed Ex repeatedly fails to deliver packages. Today was another example. when I track the package on their website they claim to have shown up at 11:00 but never did. I was home the entire day and they never showed. They didn't show the day before either yet claimed they did.
When I called to ask for a re-delivery they said the driver can't make it today so I had to go to them to pick it up. My apologies to the good Fed Ex drivers out there, but there are none on my route.
UPS and USPS seem to be able to get it right, but Fed Ex cant.

FEDEX RIPOFF
by nofedex ,Feb 22 '05
Pros: NONE Cons: Poor customer relations (I'll Use DHL from now on)
I ordered a 600 dollar Camera from Butterfly.com on Wednesday and the order information is given to Fedex on Thursday but they don't pick up the camera till Friday. On Monday I was told that the camera was on the truck and would be delivered by 7pm. I called back because the camera was not delivered and I was told that they received the camera a day early so they did not send it out because I payed for 2 day service and because it was picked up on Friday (which doesn't count) they wouldn't deliver it till Tuesday. I don't know what school fedex went to but I waited 5 days for delivery.

Awful Service - Not on Time
by fedsux ,Sep 20 '07
Pros: None Cons: Everything. Lost work hours. No packages. Awful customer service. No package.
I live in one of the largest cities in the United States, in a normal neighborhood, in a house. UPS and all of the other carriers have delivered numerous packages to our home without a problem. According to FedEx though, our address cannot be found. Exception. Exception. Two day service - never. What did I pay for? No note left. The web site is updated hours later. Today, in fact, they said that they came by my home at 9:06 am - the door was open. Nobody was here. Note: Tomorrow is the final "attempt" - and I will not go into the phone calls with the unfriendly and unhelpful customer service reps.
If I ever place another order through a major retailer again, I will insist that they not use FedEx or I will do my business elsewhere.

fedex sucks
by pumperray ,Nov 14 '07
Pros: none Cons: too many to list
fedex is the worst excuse for a company i have ever seen. i had 1 driver(contract) that had his stuff together, but he quit. he told me he made less than a dollar to deliver my package, 6 miles out of town, plus he had to lease and maintain his own vehicle! no wonder they have crap for employees. as near as i can figure i get 25% of my packages shipped by fedex. never, i repeat never have a problem with ups. fedex needs to go out of business if they can't do the job.

Fedex is a disgrace
by iansmccarthy ,Feb 21 '09
Pros: I cannot think of any Cons: Lazy, incompetent and lying. dismissive of complaints
Like so many others I have found that Fedex so called service is nothing short of disgraceful. I live one mile up a mountain on a private road. On several occasions Fedex left valuable packages by the side of the main road beneath our mailbox, and then claimed that the driver had got a signature from us. I now order online only from companies that offer UPS or USPS delivery. If all of us would do this Fedex might react. It is also noteworthy that if you go to Fedex's website there is nowhere where you can email a complaint.

FedEx truth
by mjvicens ,Mar 15 '08
Pros: None, none whatsoever. Cons: Terrible drivers, awful customer service, and when they make a mistake don't expect reimbursement.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. I'm really not sure where Fedex finds its drivers, but I am that they can't correctly deliver a package to save their lives. I give everyone at least one second chance, but these guys have burned me twice! Not only did they not deliver my package, but they denied my claim when I told them they delivered to the wrong house.
Since then I've only gone with UPS or the USPS and they haven't made a mistake yet.

bigger is not better
by thevidiot ,Oct 13 '08
Pros: none Cons: They're too big to function properly, much like our government and our economic system.
I had a VERY IMPORTANT package that HAD to be in Israel on Sunday, AM. I got to them on Friday here in NYC. What happened? Well, it first went to Newark, NJ. Then, it decided to take a side trip to Memphis, TN (I guess it wanted BBQ) and then, I guess it decided it felt like a quickie vacation in Paris for the long Jewish holiday, so it will be arriving there tonight, Monday. Now, since Israel is closed until Wednesday, it will have to spend a few days sipping wine and eating French pastries. Had I know that was the route it would take, I'd of taken it myself! Ever since FedEx became "Fedex Kinkos" their service has tanked. "When it absolutely, positively has to be there" my a$$.

Boycott FedEX
by linenoise12 ,May 01 '09
Pros: They spent a ton of money on their logo. Cons: Customer Service, Drivers and everything that has to do with it.
FedEX couldn't deliver to the White House. I was suppose to have a package delivered to my office, FedEX said it didn't exist and they changed the address to a completely different town and DELIVERED THE PACKAGE. I called FedEX, they said there's nothing they can do because my address didn't exist and the shipper changed the address. I call the shipper and they said FedEX changed it. I never got my package and was out $200.
I constantly recieve deliveries for a street that's similar, but completely different to my street. (Lakeview Circle v. Lake Side Drive) Luckily, the telephone number is on most of the packages, but I saved the guy's number so when I recieve the package he comes and grabs it. It happens so frequently, We're on a first name basis.
If it's advertised that my package will be delivered by FedEX before I purchase an item, I either try to change the shipper or avoid the seller completely.

Fedex sucks!!
by reallyannoyed ,Nov 20 '09
Pros: None Cons: Um, everything: bad customer service, unreliable, not flexible.
I really hate being forced to use FedEx -- why can't companies at least offer you the choice of FedEx or USPS? I had problems where I used to live with them because I couldn't get down the stairs to the door before they were back in their truck and down the street. Now, if I can't be there when they deliver the package, they want me to drive 30 mi. to the nearest pickup station myself. Now, what is the use of ordering through the mail if I have to drive 30 mi. to get it? None. They won't allow the recipient to decide whether or not the package is left outside the door (dumb) and they also won't allow the recipient to change delivery locations (even dumber). Hey, who ordered this package and is paying for the delivery? THat's right, I am, so leave my frikkin' package where I tell you to!
