Well, Better Late than Never!

by beckish Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jul 04 '00
Pros: friendly employees
Cons: occasionally mail gets lost, expensive
I always use the U.S. Postal Service for my regular mail; bills, birthday cards, Christmas cards, packages. And for the most part, the service I have received has been acceptable. Most of the time it takes several days for a letter to arrive that is...

Letters, packages, and bills, oh my! UPDATED 04/07/01

by mrssmoopy Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Apr 13 '00
Pros: Cheaper than Priority mail, and gets there almost as fast!
Cons: Higher damage ratio then Priority Mail on packages
I live in central New Jersey, and this area is growing by the second. In the short time it has taken me to write this Epinion, three houses were built on a farmer's lot! The suburbs of the Trenton, NJ are becoming "city-like" by the way of every...

US Postal Service First Class Mail--Who Is Perfect?

by CindyJean Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jul 15 '00
Pros: speedy, reasonable prices
Cons: sometimes mail gets lost
Is the United States Postal Service perfect? No. Is it the best system available? That would have to be a definite YES!

My husband thinks it is my personal mission to finance the USPS. I am an avid writer of letters, I have several pen...

Where the Heck is My Mail?

by Moonvine , Jun 09 '00
Pros: You can mail a letter anywhere in the U.S. for 33 cents
Cons: You don't know if it will end up at the intended destination
I’ve had a hate/hate relationship with the United States Postal Service for years now. I think it started in high school when they delivered my SAT scores to the wrong address – fortunately I lived in a small neighborhood and the recipients recognized...

Postage rising, AGAIN??

by Tysmommy96 , Dec 31 '00
Pros: Gets delivered within a decent amount of time
Cons: Damaged mail
I send out mail every day and a lot of it too. I am really upset about the postage being risen once again. I mean, when I sit and think of how many damaged pieces of mail I receive and how many of my letters come in those little plastic body bags saying...

I'm basically fed up with USPS

by kzdad , Apr 16 '00
Pros: Pros? HA! NONE!
Cons: The post office has gone to the dogs
It wasn't my intentions to write anymore on the USPS as I've already completed one on a different service of theirs, but I have to get this out, wondering if I'm alone in this area of disappointment.

Like everyone else in the world, I also use...

Low Class Delivery

by Rocketgirl , Mar 25 '00
Pros: Bills arrive with no problem
Cons: No TLC
When it comes to snail mail, unfortunately we are at the mercy of the U.S. Postal Service. We have no other choice. So you would think that since they have the corner on the market, that their service could be a little bit better, wouldn't you?

POSTAL SERVICE--I SHOULD HAVE BACKTRACKED.

by MARIEROY Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 01 '00
Pros: The service is not slow at all locations
Cons: The service is slow at some locations
I’m again happy that I have a place to come to where I can air a complaint.

In this case the U.S. Postal Service and in particular the one in Bristol.

I had to go there yesterday and I chose this one because it was...

Knock it all you want... its still the best deal going!

by poseidon Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Dec 08 '99
Pros: All the service provided at a cost of $0.33
Cons: Why not guarantee overnight mail?
Let's face it. Everyone at one point in time or another has a major gripe about the post office. The mail is too slow, they don't deliver as promised, the lines are too long, they lose stuff, etc.

Look at it from their point of view, though....

US Postal Myths

by terrid , Dec 31 '00
Pros: Still a good service for the price
Cons: Not as good as everyone thinks it is
First, let me say that I believed these too until I joined the post office. Boy, was I wrong.

Myth one: The post office pays well and has great benefits. If you have been working there for 30 years, you get paid well. However, everyone...

Certified Mail, Delivery Confirmation, Insured Mail All A Waste Of Money

by upsisbetter , Dec 05 '03
Pros: Stamps are cheap, mail usually gets there, International Registered Mail is tolerable to most countries.
Cons: Everything else about the postal service is of questionable integrity, very unreliable!
I have been doing large volumes of business with the U.S. Postal Service for over three years now, working for an independently owned "mail & parcel center" (not mailboxes etc. but very similar). I can't tell you how many times I have seen Delivery ...

Good but could be better

by BadgerFan , Sep 26 '00
Pros: Excellent Bang for the Buck
Cons: Service could be better
Although most people gripe about how much they have to pay to send a letter, 33 cents is pretty cheap considering what we are getting in terms of delivery speed. I would however, be willing to pay 40 cents or so if the postal employees would be a bit...

First Class Deal

by Woody35 , Feb 24 '00
Pros: Cheap, generally reliable
Cons: Post office should have more do-it-yourself
Even though we all complain when postal rates go up by a penny or two every year or so, there's no better 'deal' in this world than the US Postal Service. If you've ever lived in another country where postal rates can be much, much higher, you'd know how...

They have my life in their hands

by STPezatcha , Jan 11 '00
Pros: At Least they are on TIme
Cons: Getting rid of the word "service"
I use the USPS almost everyday in my life, to get mail...and most likely to send mail. To tell you the truth, I never really had a problem with the USPS, they always send things out ON TIME! (and that’s really really important). The USPS is always...
