Pros: AMD processor support, high speed memory support, very expandable Cons: None
I finally had to upgrade my wife's PC after three years, she was needing to run some graphic design software and her computer wouldn't run any of it. Her old PC was running an old Pentium II, 128 MB memory and a 8 MB video card. As you can see, this is...

Fist off, I must mention that this board (A7V333) comes in two flavors, the Raid/Fire wire version, and the slightly cheaper Non-raid/Non-Firewire version..I have several builds with both boards with the Athlon XP 2100+ and both are truely awesome.....

Pros: Fast and Feature Packed. Cons: iPanel, and memory reader products are hard to find.
I bought my A7V333 for the built in USB 2.0 support, and for future upgrades.
This board supports DDR 333 and the latest AMD processors. It has built in ATA133, RAID, USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Dolby 5.1 sound. It has headers for Smart Card and...

Pros: On-board sound, good BIOS controls for system optimization Cons: IRQ conflict with Windows98(?)
In putting together a new PC, I wanted to use components that are at the high end of current technology so that's why I chose the Asus A7V333 motherboard.
First, it has the latest chipset (VIA KT333) giving it a possible 333MHz memory bus. If...

Pros: Great options, overclocking feature, and ASUS reliability Cons: not stable when using a gig or more of RAM
When preparing for college, I decided to build my own computer. Upon making this decision, I had a multitude of parts, companies, and styles to choose from. Since a motherboard is so critical to your system, I wanted to buy from a company with proven...

Pros: Lots of features, fairly easy setup Cons: BIOS too little information, MyLogo doesn't work, no need for RAID, software documentations non-existant
This is generally a good board. I had set up several systems of 2.1GHz AMD Athlon XP with it. The thing I wish it would provide is more information on the actual working of the setup. For instance, I do not know whether my DDR 333 is actually running at...

Pros: Good Price vs. Features, decent layout Cons: Sloppy execution in secondary and supporting software and features
I've been an IT guy for years, but some of the younger 'tuner' crowd knows a lot more about the current state of the art of computer mainboards. But, I did my research before buying the A7V333 and I'm happy with it overall.
I have had some...

rock solid
by audiphilenut ,Nov 12 '03
Pros: No on-board Graphics card
reliability Cons: non
I the asus a7v333, back in october, 2002, The only problem I have ever had was my first one came in DOA. It lessened my spirit being this was the first box I built myself. I spent hours troubleshooting the box to no avail, and luckily I decided to buy it at a local shop so it was a breeze *atleast for me* to return it. Asus spend of returning products may not be the swiftest but I have to admit it was worth the patience, finally I recieved the new one and to this day have yet to have any problems. This board is true rock solid board. My only new test is to see how well it re-acts with 1GB of ddr 333 memory, and my AMD overclocked *by the bios default overclock setting of 1700MHz on an amd xp1600* For as keeping to factory specs this board is excellent, would recommened to any one looking for a board they intend to keep for along time.

I like this motherboard. For the price though there are other manufacturers that make a better product at a better price. The design of AMDs heatsink and the motherboard are terrible. The AMD heatsink that comes with their chip required the user to push down on a quasi spring and latch it to the motherboard. ASUS has put several little chips in the line of fire. On slip of the hand and its toast. When you install your heatsink I recommend using a piece of padded double sided tape to cover the little chips. This should save you some agony.

by richteralan_dt3000 ,Oct 05 '02
Everything work... UDMA6/133 works perfectly under Windows XP. Memory option works perfectly and all the way to PC2700. Check your RAM because the mobo requires high performance RAM(I'm using SAMSUNG). Boot speed is fast(too fast, kind of). Flashing BIOS is really convenient, as you can do it everywhere, in windows, during boot-up or boot by floppy.
I recommend everyone with this ASUS A7V333

I noticed in one write-up...
by coma__dt3000 ,Feb 06 '03
I noticed in one write-up on this board from MusicMaster saying that this board is capable of running 333 FSB processors. That information is incorrect. The 333 simply means the board can handle PC2700 memory which really means 333mhz. However, with these speeds on the memory you are allowed to overclock your FSB via bios but not anywhere near 333. I have a peltier water cooled heatsink along with about 800cfm of airflow evenly distributed throughout my case and I've managed to get my fsb to 282<---- which makes a considerable difference in 3dm2k scoring along with the quake 3 demo fps testing. From 266 @ 134fps to 282 @ 156 that's about an 17% increase in over-all performance. Just wanted to clarify this to all you readers out there looking for a this board as once again it does NOT support 333mhz fsb processors. Coma

by prophotoimages_dt3000 ,Jul 05 '02
Good board but....A7v/133/266 allow extra drive to be used. The 333 must be used in a Raid setup only. Maybe Asus will come out with an updated a7v333 that will allow IDE 3/4 to take an independent drive without the Raid
