Mighty Mite!

by iindigo , Mar 20 '02
Pros: Lots of software at a great price, great for beginners
Cons: No real owner’s manual, won’t run BeOS
This is a great machine. I’ve had it for two years now, and the only problem I’ve had with is the mouse going dead - and that was my fault. The cord on it got stretched out and the connection was broken.

It may not look like it, but it is a...

iMac is the best "First Computer" computer

by jpatakas2k , Jul 07 '01
Pros: Simple, easy to use.
Cons: OS is very basic, no floppy drive!
Greetings,

I wrote an article before on my Pavilion 5190, as many probably have read already. I use a Compaq iPaq at work, and use the Mac iMac as well.

I think the iMac would be the perfect computer for the first time buyer....

Do not buy unless you get the extended warranty

by scottm170 , Jun 07 '01
Pros: inexpensive, easy to use, well designed
Cons: Cheaply made, breaks down after warranty expires, very expensive to fix
I a writing to warn anyone who is considering buying an iMac to make sure they buy the extended warranty. Recently, my iMac was having trouble booting up. So I took it to my local service provider for repairs. The next day, the repair company called back...

So easy to use, no wonder its #1

by limpdog77 , Apr 29 '01
Pros: It is very easy to use and can be very fast.
Cons: Not a lot of games or software are compatible for this computer.
The iMac is very fast and has a lot of memory. Even though there are not a lot of games or software that are compatible for this computer, its is still fun to use. The iMac comes with a 56k modem, and is still sold at a very reasonable price. This...

Don't Judge a book by its cover

by ral111187 , Apr 15 '01
Pros: Nice look!
Cons: Not enough space or benefits!
I recently bought an iMac for myself thinking it would be a great computer. I was wrong. First off, I was not please with the tech support, they were extremely rude and unhelpful. There also is not enough space, only 32 MB of ram, so I always have to...

iMac is a long-lasting family computer!

by nstanosheck , Apr 09 '01
Pros: Easy to use, rare crashes, child and adult friendly.
Cons: The 15" screen may be small for some, but I think its fine.
I bought one after dealing with Windows 95 for far too long. This thing doesn't crash often & is simple to use. An excellent family computer. I still have my original one 3 years later and still love it.

Personally I prefer the original color...

Use your iBrain, and buy an iMac!

by bigbang , Mar 31 '01
Pros: Cool system, good OS, quality software.
Cons: None that I can see, maybe apart from occasional crashes.
History
The iMac was introduced a number of years ago (in the ancient days when OS 8 had just come out...), and caused a bit of a stir in the PC market. It was the only computer that shipped at the time WITHOUT a floppy drive. Cos the Mac...

The New iMac

by jgiannone , Mar 11 '01
Pros: It's perfect and has almost everything.
Cons: Can't insert mini-disc; no DVD storage; no floppy drive.
The new iMac comes in Indigo, Graphite,
Flower Power and Blue Dalmatian. You can create your own movies with iMovie 2. It can go up to 600 mhz. The keyboard is bigger and the mouse is bigger and runs on an optical laser sensor instead of a...

I love my iMac...when I can turn it on!!

by nplus1 , Mar 09 '01
Pros: Easy to set up, nice sound and inexpensive
Cons: small keyboard, "hockey-puck" mouse and poorly designed power button
First let me say that I'm quite pleased with my iMac purchase, and think it was the perfect computer for my particular needs.

I wanted to get my girlfriend her 1st computer. She had little prior computer experience, and I wanted her first one...

Overpriced at any price

by byronfast , Feb 15 '01
Pros: Nice looking package, USB ports everywhere.
Cons: Fragile as a snowflake, and not easy to use at all.
I bought my used iMac for my (not computer literate) girlfriend because I thought it would be easier for her to learn, and would be less of a maintenance headache for me. I could not be more wrong.

It is definitely not easier for her...

Fast, reliable and easy.

by Den350 , Feb 12 '01
Pros: Space saver, Reliable, easy to use, lots of web resources.
Cons: Limited software and local brick & mortar retail suppliers
I consider myself a fairly skilled computer user having experience in networking, mainframes and light programming. I was highly disappointed with my experience in Windows operating systems and sorely missed IBM's OS/2. Enter the IMac. Just when I was...

tasty imacs!

by nekobear , Feb 11 '01
Pros: small, fast, easy to use, appearance
Cons: no floppy drive with purchase
I've always been a Macintosh user. I love macs. When I heard about the imac, the first thing I loved was the look to it. It was small, which is a huge plus for me because i hate large, bulky, in-the-way, computers, and came in tons of tasty "flavours"....
