Pros: magnificent art displays and colors Cons: if your not an art fanatic, for go a PC
In 1995 we bought a Mac Performa 630 CD. For the next 2-3 years it was cool and all,
but then all of a sudden it needed to be updated- in other words "buy a new computer!" It
got really old really soon. The good...

Pros: Unmatched ease of use; powerful processor; true plug and play; many side benefits Cons: Less support from mainstream computer industry; some models have only USB ports for peripherals
This rambling opinion can apply to all Apple products, probably...
I've always been a fan of leading edge technology- although I haven't always been able to afford it- and have had a computer of some kind stretching back to the Commodore...

Pros: You'll have a cooler computer than your PC friends. Plus more desk space and futuristic video editing software Cons: Less available software, and the problems of interfacing with a majority PC world
Don't Shoot that iMac!
Recently another reviewer, John Runner, a PC owner writing for Epinions.com, wrote a review of the iMac in which he expressed a rage towards the new Apple machine so heartfelt and visceral that he was asked, by...

Pros: Great start-up computer for the newbie. Cons: Availability as of now...
I purchased an iMac when they were first released. I still use it and have had no problems whatsoever with the system or software that came included or that I installed. As far as the reason for me having one is two-fold:
1. I design web sites...

Pros: comes in plenty of colors Cons: no floppy disc, only 1 external port for Printer, bad mouse, slow processor and graphics, horrible sound
I can't even believe that this computer was designed. First of all, everybody knows PC's are better computers than Macintosh computers, but of all the hair brained schemes Mac came up with this has to be the stupidest and most counter-productive one...

Pros: Small, FAST, quiet, excellent connectivity Cons: Lousy mouse
When Apple first released the iMac I thought it was a brilliant idea for a first-time computer user, but I couldn't imagine that I would ever buy one. I'm a graphic designer who's always owned the most powerful computer that I could afford and I just...

Pros: Well-designed, user-friendly OS, good price Cons: Mouse might be uncomfortable for some, poor graphics card (on original iMac)
My family has been a Mac family since the original in 1984, so when it came to buying a computer for college, the iMac was the first choice, and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I have the original Bondi Blue iMac (the last one out of the first...

Pros: great colors, easy set up Cons: aside from the colors and your choice of external storage, you can't personalize it much
Ok, so I am not a mac fan. But I do have to admit that for the most part, this is a great computer for those people who have never had a computer, who just like to check email and get on the internet, or those poor people who just don't want to use...

Pros: Speedy, stylish, a good value for the consumer. Cons: Doesn't run Windows, but who says that's a con? ;)
Six months after we purchased our first Apple iMac computer, we had to shell out another $1199 for another. No, nothing was wrong, either. The iMac was perfectly, fine, except that my roommate, with his Compaq Presario, couldn't seem to stay away from...

Pros: Sleek, compact and ease of use. Cons: Some incompatibility communicating with PC's.
I originally bought a PC computer. Took it home, unpackaged it and hooked it up...about a 2 hour process. I am a computer neophyte and wanted something that would be user-friendly and easy to learn. What a mistake I had made! I was horror-stricken by...

Pros: Trend-setter, Great OS Cons: Mouse shape & Keyboard size
I've worked extensively on both PCs and Macs and I love the iMac about 99%. It's pretty much common knowledge that the Mac OS is and always has been superior to Windows. When is the last time you heard about a bug on a Mac?
Ok, the iMac design...

Pros: Elegant design, speedy, compact Cons: All-in-one unit design prevents some types of flexibility (but that's like blaming the toaster for not being a microwave)
Yes, buying an iMac does mean that you will have to fore-go geeking rights. You can't make this baby into a multi-processor machine, nor can you install the latest 3D graphics card or have dual monitors. If this is important to you, of course you won't...

Pros: Inexpensive, cool design, good speed Cons: Bottom-of-the-line Mac
Most of the reviews on the iMac here are on the old iMac, which was not very powerful, and, although attractive, it sorta sucked. But the new iMac is a waaaay big improvement. Its cheaper, 999 bucks, great for students and people who dont have thousands...

Pros: easy to use, kids like the colors Cons: monitor is too *$# small, uncomfortable setup
I spend upwards of 13 hours a day at the computer working on web design, and for a serious professional, the iMac just won't cut it. Not because it can't handle the workload, but because of that itty bitty monitor. I use a 21 inch and a 17 inch side by...

Pros: Easy to setup, Great video editing features Cons: Windows-compatible crashes, unintuitive interface
I did it. 14 years of Windows was enough for me. All these years all I heard was how wonderful, easy to use and crash-proof the Mac is, and I finally snapped. You want to know what did it...it was an observation by Scott McNealy from Sun Microsystems...
