Tech support is no help at all,

Pros: Very reliable.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.

eMachines 466id Just Fine for the Price

by anniebob , May 09 '00
Pros: Priced right, meets basic needs
Cons: Could have more RAM, may not be enough for advanced users
I purchased my eMachines 466id from Office Depot in October 1999. My Microworkz computer which was less than a year old died, and even though I purchased an extended warranty, they refused to honor it, so I was forced to replace it, and I had to do it...

eMachines - a good *cheap* PC

by shanebryant , Jul 18 '00
Pros: Very affordable
Cons: Included software is minimal (but what can you expect considering the price?). No AGP bus. Speakers and modem are inadequate.
The day finally came that I realized I could no longer play new video games on my PC. It was a 133mhz Pentium, and without a 3D accellerator card, it was useful for word processing and little else (and playing my old games).

Pros: cheap
Cons: Reloading software becomes annoying
I owned an e Machine 466id for approximately 3 months. I had nothing but problems with it. The worst was frequent lock ups, every time I was online it would completely lock up within 30 minutes. Multitasking was also a problem, (I thought that was what...

NO!

by jimdoney , Dec 16 '99
Pros: It breaks you get a new one at most retail stores
Cons: No software, No support, No quality.
There are a lot of "No's" to this machine. No software. No support. And once again from eMachine No quality. I sell computers for a living day in and day out and I loathe this machine. Windows 98 is the only software component on this machine....

Good Luck So Far..

by bloondee , Jun 30 '00
Pros: Very easy to set up and use.
Cons: Plan on a fight for your rebate check.
I received my E Machine as a Christmas gift. Although I was a little apprehensive about E Machines in general, because of the low price and the mixed reviews I had read, I have had very good luck with mine. It is very easy to set up and use and my...

Great Machine, Great Price

by gafergus , Aug 25 '00
Pros: Great Price, Great Performance
Cons: None Yet
My old machine was not cutting the mustard anymore and I actually was having some Y2K problems. The cost to upgrade it was not looking like a good option so I started pricing machines. I wanted faster, more memory, larger HD and a DVD/CD Drive. I was...

Pros: Low price, works great, Excellent Tech Support

E Machine

by debl , Dec 20 '99
Pros: Low pricing
Cons: Bad customer support
We recently purchased an E Machine from Outpost.com.
We needed something quicker than the slow computer
we had been using. This is a decent machine, but not
great. It is fairly noisy. We did find customer support
pretty useless. We...

Mu huge mistake
by solidruslan666 ,May 22 '04
Pros: none
Cons: Can you spell worthless.
O.K lets get this straight, this is a budget pc it has a lot of problems and can never hope to compete with dell, hp, or compaq. I am going to describe the different aspects of this pc. Just bear with me. If you have any sense in you you will not buy this computer after reading this review or all the others.
CPU: It has an intel celeron cpu clocked at 466 megahertz (MHz). It has very little L1 and L2 cache.
Graphics: Can you spell ch-op-p-y. It has 4 megabyte ati rage pro turbo agp graphics. It can only run Half Life with software emulation. Oddly the computer has no agp slot.
Memory: It uses cheap @$$ pc 2100 memory. It has only 64 megabytes ram.
Hard Drive: An 8.4 gigabyte Seagate hard drive. It is very slow.

Overall this computer is very bad, slow and no one in their right mind will buy it. End of story!!
