Pros: Nice computer and price! Cons: Needs a better modem and DVD rom.
I have owned several different types of computers including Macintosh and have found that for this price, the etower 466id was the best buy for me. I didn't care for the modem that can with the unit so I installed a US Robotics. The DVD drive does not...

Pros: Good for families, good graphics Cons: Tech support leaves much to be desired!
I bought etower 466id at the urging of the Nationwide salesclerk "the one I have in my home." I bought it (both the line and the computer) and set it up. The last thing to be plugged in was the mouse, but the port was bad and I had to drive...

Pros: DVD Express, E-Machine Internet Service Cons: HSP Modem
Well, I have searched for a low priced, dependable computer and I have found one. The e-Machine 466id has a lot of features and for the most part, it really runs good. The first day, my daughter and I gave it a test drive and ,much to our surprise, we...

Pros: Price was affordable Cons: No service repairs allowed
I purchased this product as a Christmas present for my children. By March, we were having trouble with it shutting down. I had purchased it at Circuit City and luckily had purchased the extended warranty. Called the store, and was told to bring it in...

Pros: cheap, cheap, cheap, oh god was it cheap Cons: essentialy no tech support, no goodies, limited expandability
I needed a new computer. I didn't have a lot to spend. I got a rain check from Best Buy for a 400 Mhz $424.99 el cheapo computer (the one they advertise as being free). When I went back to the store to check up on things they told me that they stopped...

Pros: Good machine. Cons: Company practices fraud.
The product was purchased on 12/23/99 by my boyfriend, Philip Broske. It appeared to be especially inexpenseive because Emachines offered a $75 rebate. The rebate form said the rebate was good from 10/1/99 through 12/31/99. He mailed the form, proof of...

Pros: Best Value Around Cons: The only bad thing I noticed is an occaisional pause when the Hard Disk is being heavily used. More Ram would solve this problem. I probably needed 128MB but I will wait a month or 2 to add more memory as prices are high from the earthquake in Taiwan.
WHY:
Like most people these days, I'm buying a computer to upgrade.
I have several computers but, they always need to be upgraded.
But Since I have a Nice Laser Printer, and I 19" monitor, I ...

I am a college student and recently married. Anyone will be able to guess the my wife and I are on a tight budget. When my old computer (an AMD K5 133 with 16 meg ram and a 1.2 gig HD and 16x CD-ROM drive) started acting up I knew I would have to...

Pros: Easy to set up Cons: Not very reliable
I bought an emachines computer for my mother hoping to get her onto the Internet. Instead of getting my hopes and dreams fulfilled, all I got was a kick in the butt. I got it home and hooked it all up in my mother's room. I then proceeded to boot it...

Pros: cheap Cons: Reloading software becomes annoying
I owned an e Machine 466id for approximately 3 months. I had nothing but problems with it. The worst was frequent lock ups, every time I was online it would completely lock up within 30 minutes. Multitasking was also a problem, (I thought that was what...

Pros: It breaks you get a new one at most retail stores Cons: No software, No support, No quality.
There are a lot of "No's" to this machine. No software. No support. And once again from eMachine No quality. I sell computers for a living day in and day out and I loathe this machine. Windows 98 is the only software component on this machine....
