Pros: Beautiful, feels great, tracks perfectly, no cleaning of cages Cons: Try as I may, I can't get them to reproduce
Very soon after I bought my Power Mac G3 (blue and white), I knew I would have to get another mouse. The silly little round poor-excuse-for-a-mouse had to go. I ended up getting a Contour Unimouse to replace it and was reasonably satisfied with this...
Pros: BEAUTIFUL, ergonomically sound, improved precision with optical tracking, smooth gliding, ambidextrous, stylish Cons: Hefty upgrade price, single button, short cord, retains most of the tracking problems associated with every optical mouse
Get your motor runnin'.... Head out on the highway... Lookin' for adventure... And whatever comes our way... Yeah Darlin', go and make it happen...Take the world in a love embrace...

Pros: Best mouse I've ever used; no track ball to get dirty; wonderfully ergonomic; it's purty Cons: None
I absolutely hate the mouse that came with the original iMac and Mac G3 systems. It was, in a word, something that should have never been designed. I tried to like that little round, awkward, hockey puck of a mouse, but I never could tolerate it. ...
Pros: Optical sensor rather than a track ball, beautiful looking, fits easily into one's hand Cons: Looking at the optic beam hurts one's eyes :)
Good-bye hockey puck mouse, hello optical. After the huge uproar about Apple's older mouse, which came on all the iMacs and G3s, Apple decided to toss it out faster than a Randy Johnson fast ball. Now, standard on every Macintosh computer, comes the...
Pros: Easy cleaning, highly ergonomic, right- or left-handed with ease Cons: Doesn't handle speed well, short cable
We just installed four new Apple G4s in my store and they all came with these new Apple Pro Mouses. If you're used to the round mouse that appeared with the iMacs, you'll be ready to kiss this mouse. And even if you're used to a traditional mouse the...
Pros: Good looks, no moving parts Cons: single button, short cord, occasional jumps into never-never land
The old iMacs came with the worst mouse foisted upon consumers since the days of the Mac Classic. The new iMacs come with the best mice since the Classic - that is to say, ever.
The optical ProMouse offers, for the most part, unrivaled...
Pros: No Grimy Tracking Ball! Aesthetically Stunning. Cons: Expensive.
Like many other users of recent Apple computers, I lamented the hockey puck mouse that came standard with my system last year. But, also like other Apple users, I was somewhat used to Apple's oddness -- they're rather like Saab, which builds very good...
This mouse is beautiful, and thats about the only thing it has going for it.
Appearence:
The forte of this mouse. It looks like it was made of one piece. It doesnt have traditional buttons, rather the entire mouse acts as a button and...
Pros: PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY! simple, ergonomic, good for both left and right handed people. Cons: price, BRIGHT light, can not move the mouse too fast or the sensor gets confused.
Mention the hockey puck apple mouse to any seasoned computer user and you'll most likely hear groans. No one can debate that as an efficient, ergonomic mouse, the Apple USB "hockey puck" mouse did not cut it. However, now there's a reason to...
Pros: Ergonomic, looks great, comes with all Macs Cons: Expensive if bought without computer
My Apple pro optical mouse came with my iMac DV SE. I use the mouse every day and really like it. It is a HUGE improvement over those tiny colored mice that came with the old iMacs and G3's. They were too small for your hand and had a weird button.
...
Pros: Great style, optical technology, adjustable tension Cons: Only one button, no wheel, rapid movement may confuse the mouse
Apple fans can finally rejoice at the coming of optical mouse technology and the going of the old "hockey puck" mouse! The Apple Pro Mouse uses optical technology, which means that it uses a laser beam and a tiny digital camera to track your mouse...
Pros: Sleek, Smooth, Accurate, Does Not Clog, Easy to Use, Adjustable Click Pressure Cons: Can Skip if Moved too Fast, Can Skip On Shiny Surfaces
One of the major gripes that people had when the "new" apple computers started to come out, was the rather lacking mouse. This "hockey puck", was not only small, inconvenient, and made so it was hard to tell where the button was, but...
Pros: Accurate, ergonomic, very stylish! Cons: Expensive when not bought with computer
I got the Apple Pro Mouse with the purchase of my iMac DV in August 2000. It is a very good mouse, especially compared to those mice that used to come with the older G3s that were too small, had a small click button, and were not optical.
Pros: Stunning design, great tracking, feels good Cons: Cord feels small
When I first bought my aging iMac DV, it came with the infamous "Hockey Puck" mouse. Although I didn't mind the shape it as much as some people did, it did seem to get fouled up by dirt an awful lot.
Pros: uncommonly beautiful; no gross trackball accumulating goo Cons: cat fur does stick to the eye pretty often, causing mouse problems
Okay, I guess I already sound like a total slob, but I'm not (really). I do have five cats. Although I vacuum once a week, I can't keep up with the furry beasts. There is fur everywhere, especially around Day Seven when there are Furry Tumbleweeds in...
Pros: ergonomic; attractive, Cons: flex can be a problem; grime build up
This was my first Mac mouse (I switched over on the Mac's 20th anniversary!) and it was all quite new to me. I was familiar with plugging it into the keyboard and this makes up for it being rather a short cable (a couple of feet) and this is fine ...
Pros: sleek. Cons: over priced, knock-off of Microsoft verson, doesn't glide well.
The Apple Pro Mouse, is semi-new type of mouse. It has no internal ball, for lint and dust to be caught on. That means that the cursor will never skip or jump. The Microsoft optical mouse is the same as the Apple Pro Mouse, except it was made...
Pros: optical, nice button, looks cool, standard Cons: 1 button, no wheel
This mouse is great. The facts that it's standard and optical makes it way better than the PC standard mice, which you have to continuously clean. The thing about the whole surface being a button is a neat idea, and it help in some respects. Plus, the...
Pros: So nice and smooth, tracks great, no cleaning Cons: there is nothing wrong with perfection
This is the greatest mouse I have ever had. It fits perfectly into your hand, not as if it was a well designed mouse, but as if it was an extension of your hand. The seamless design is great. And being able to click anywhere is a definite plus. The...
Pros: precise, looks good (when clean) Cons: skips sometimes, clear shell gets dirty fast, one button, pricey
The macintosh pro mouse is a step up for standard mice for the Macintosh platform (if you buy an new G4), and is adequate as such. I got mine free at work, and so I can't complain much about it, but people who pay $60 for theirs may wish they'd bought...
Pros: Great Size and Shape, Excellent Design Cons: None!
I got my Apple Pro Mouse when I went to the MacWorld New York 2000 Keynote. This was an excellent suprise. Ever since i got my PowerBook, I needed a *real* pointing device, because, let's admit it, You can't Photoshop or Quake with a trackpad.
Pros: Free if you buy a new iMac. Easy to replace with a proper mouse. Cons: Non-intuitive, causes wrist pain. Sad step backwards for appearances.
I didn't pay for my Apple Pro Mouse, or I would have taken it back. It came included with the really cool new iMac and was the only sour note in the otherwise splendid symphony of oohs and aahs that accompanied the amazingly painless iMac setup.
...
Pros: generally works well, doesn't collect gunk Cons: short cord, can skip
Apple's known for offering reliable, if expensive, computer products. The Apple Pro Mouse is just another example.I got my white squeaker when I got an eMac for college nearly seven years ago. Back then optical mice were just becoming common, but ...
Pros: Adjustable click tension. Smooth, precise tracking Cons: A little costly
I have a somewhat different perspective. I am a writer with Parkinson's Disease. That means I get tremors in my hand that frequently result in multiple, unintentional mouse clicks and, usually, corrections.
Pros: Optical, sleek, comfortable, accurate. Cons: Wee bit expensive.
The Apple Pro Mouse finally got rid of the uncomfortable hockey puck USB mouse. The Pro Mouse is very comfortable to use. The entire surface is a button, so you can place your hand where ever you find it most comfortable. The mouse uses optical tracking...
Pros: Bigger, slicker and no mechanical ball. Cons: None.
I bought my iMac DV (Blueberry) in May 2000 and saw that the mouse was shaped like a hockey puck. I got used to the grip but the ball was attracting dust which caused the mouse to slow down. But when the Pro Mouse came out, I wanted it.

Pros: - Preety Cons: - One button
- Gets dirty easy
- Not for big hands
- rip off
Sure this mouse is nice. It is clear and you only have one button to push. Two buttons must confuse Apple people or something because this is worthless.
I use Macs and PCs. I have 2 menus set up on my computer, a right click and middle click menu and I don't know what I would do without it. It frustrates me endlessly to have to put up with this nonsense one button.
I guess Apples are just too powerful to have more than 1 button.... =P
My friend has it and I was using it. He said he paid 30 bucks for it (he is big on used parts and other good deals) but I have heard it retails for 60 bucks. That is crazy.
A REGULAR OPTICAL MOUSE COSTS $10. Go out and buy one that isn't a ripoff.
Durable mouse - highly recommended by ryter16 ,Jan 25 '04
Pros: Pretty, operates well, lasts longer, can use without mousepad Cons: Expensive, collects dust on the bottom, cord is way too short!
This is a terrific mouse. It's very pretty (and goes well with my ibook). I've had it for about 3 weeks now and it operates perfectly! It's alot better than other mouses out there. Unlike PC mouses, this Apple mouse has no tracking ball at the bottom of it making it last longer. Usually, I need a mousepad for my other mouses, but not for this one! It works perfectly fine without one. I highly recommend this!
Just as there are pros to the Apple mouse, there are also cons. The cord is too short making it quite difficult for me to move my mouse further away from my laptop. Also, it collects dust on the bottom of the mouse (so be sure to clean your desk regularly) and when your hand gets clammy and sweaty, you can actually feel it transferring to the mouse. It's also quite expensive in comparison to other mice out there.
Looks great! Tracks terribly... by eddyw ,Feb 14 '04
Pros: Very stylish and ergonomically designed Cons: Horrible tracking, not very functional
I must agree with all the other reviewers on this page that the Apple Power mouse is a very attractive and ergonomically comfortable mouse. I must, however, disagree with some of the comments on how this mouse tracks. Even when set at a medium tracking speed (the lower settings are unusable unless you live in slow motion) the cursor jumps all over the screen and often won't even move when the mouse is moved. I've tried using it on many different surfaces, but to no avail. In addition, although simplicity is nice, the fact that this mouse is essentially one button with no scroll capabilities, means that functionality is traded for good looks.
