Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical

I went through the...

Pros: Smooth, a lot of buttons, ability to blind people's eyes with laser! Cons: You get sued or beat up if you put the the laser in someone's eye and blind them.
I first saw these mice used at an Internet and Game Network Studio months ago. I was quite impressed with these because I've never seen a mouse without a ball before. After using these for a while at the studio I've grown attached to it, and when I went...

Pros: No more opening up the mouse to clean out the accumulation Cons: Price
Touchy thumb button
Let me start by saying my fiancée thought I was crazy for spending $60 on something, as she said, "you already have one, it's not broken, so why do you need a new one?"
Well anyone who spends considerable amounts of time on a PC, 10-12 hours a...

Pros: no ball; smooth and acurate Cons: none
When the Intellimouse Explorer came out I was dying to get. However it cost $70 which is expensive for a mouse. Also it was too big and clumsy. The Intellimouse Optical is more or less the same thing without the flaws of the Explorer. It is smaller and...

Pros: No trackball, works on any surface Cons: Scroll wheel click doesn't work, a little light, annoying red light
The Microsoft Intellimouse Optical works very well for every application that I use. Word processing, web browsing, Java IDE, Windows navigation, Visio, remote PC control, etc. - it all works fine. (I haven't used it for any games.)
It's as...

Pros: no ball, scroll wheel Cons: shape
I bought this mouse cause I needed something to give my brother for his high school graduation. He doesn't have a computer yet, but considering his hatred of the "hockey puck" Macintosh mouses, I knew he would want an alternative. I'd heard a...

Pros: Smooth, effortless pointing and scrolling. Cons: May not work in Operating System installation.
I bought myself one of these babies after the frustration of cleaning the inside of a ball mouse got to me. I would clean out my ball mouse so the inside rollers were spotless, but still there would still be problems with the way that the cursor moved...

Pros: Accurate, No cleaning, Easy Installation Cons: Feeling dumb you didn't buy one before
A few months ago, I decided to get away from the basic ball mouse. I was tired of cleaning the rollers every few weeks, and even with a more expensive mouse pad, I would still come across a sticky pointer and the norm was me buying another cheap mouse...

Pros: Comfortable, easy maintenance Cons: Doesn't stop tracking until raised to a certain height
When I went to Fry's Electronics(a computer store) I walked down the mouse isle and played with all the mice. I liked Microsoft Optical mouse the most because, it was light, it was comfortable, and it was an easy maintenance device. I was planning on...

Pros: Easy to use, precise, Cons: None
I begged my boss for three months to replace the 'cookie' mouse that came with my iMac DV Special Edition. I dog-eared and circled the trackballs in the Staples Catalog, (which were my old favorites) every week. He got the hint, and one day I came in,...

Pros: Eye-catching. No stickiness. Cons: It actually CRASHES.
Only Microsoft could make a mouse that crashes.
My average experience with the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical has been positive: no more sticky mouse ball clean-up, no more Q-Tipping the innards with rubbing alcohol. Unfortunately, about once...

The Microsoft Intelli Mouse optical is the future of mice,.
No mouse ball needed so you won't have to clean it or worry about it sticking. It also has a red light on the bottom that stays on as long as your computer is running or in stand-by. No...
