Careful. This mouse doesnt' like to play!

by Porfavor , Feb 20 '01
Pros: Easy to use, No ball = No dust, scroll anywhere, forward/back buttons
Cons: Not for you gamers!
As always, lets start off with the good stuff. I've had this mouse for a solid few months now and considering the fact it has put up with my abuse, it's already considered a great mouse on my scale.

It is very easy to use, the USB interface...

Microsoft Optical Mouse a good buy.

by flyingfree1999 , Jan 26 '01
Pros: Sleek, No moving parts, lightwieght, easy to use.
Cons: Annoying red light, Pricy
Microsoft's Optical mouse is a godsend. How many times have you been annoyed by the gumming up of your standard mouse. Probably to many. MS's Optical Mouse is gum-proof. Its easy to use, sleek, lightweight. Like most of the mice on the market, there's...

Exellent...if you got the green

by linuxstout , Feb 17 '01
Pros: never gets full of gunk
Cons: $$$
$40-$50 is a lot of money for a small peice of plastic. But if you think about it the mouse is an essential part of your computer without it you couldn't use your computer. This mouse is easy to intall. Though it takes a little getting used to the...

NO BALLS!

by arathres , Nov 24 '00
Pros: Great mouse, no balls, lots of buttons, wheel
Cons: none
I love this mouse. It works on any surface (except mirrors which makes sense). The mouse never gets dirty like regular mice which leads to the common skipping that people hate. You never have to clean it. It has 4 Buttons and a Wheel which is also a...

Not really much different.

by barian , Jun 29 '01
Pros: Works on most surfaces.
Cons: The light gets annoying after a while.
I really didn't know what to expect when purchasing this mouse, though I did think it would be different in a way. I came to find out that this mouse wasn't much, if any, different from the mouse that came with my computer. Maybe its because I didn't...

Optical Perfection.

by spankie , Jul 27 '01
Pros: Perfect mouse, convenient button placement, accuracy, no skipping.
Cons: None.
Perfect mouse for every use. Extremely accurate for anything from Quake to Photoshop. I now find a ball mouse to be unusable when working with graphics. The Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical Mouse saves me a lot of frustration when working on details in 3D...

At last a mouse that I don't have to clean the ball on

by vickym , Dec 02 '00
Pros: Very low maintenance
Cons: Overuse syndrome
At last a mouse that I don't have to keep cleaning. I am really pleased with this mouse. My previous mouse I was getting sick and tired of having to clean the ball all the time. My mouse gets quite a high usage, from the kids and extended family and...

Doesn't work with Netscape on Windows ME

by mprussak , Feb 16 '01
Pros: Optical pickup, no sticking ball, extra buttons for back/forward in browser
Cons: back/forward buttons don't work in Netscape, in Windows ME
It's a really cool mouse. I had it at work, bought it for home, and I got so used to the fact it does not skip, and to the back/forward buttons for the browser. But here's the kicker: I just got a new computer, with Windows ME, and the darn back/forward...

A Mouse of it's own!

by jenw99 , Sep 29 '00
Pros: USB, works well
Cons: none
My mother found a special on this product at xoom.com. She ended up buying two of them. I used one for a while, and I really love it. I think it runs great! I like the idea of not having a mouse ball to clean! It looks very cool too. This...

This is the answer

by nkewney , Apr 16 '01
Pros: Perfect tracking, web navigation buttons on the side, excellent shape.
Cons: Constant red glow
This mouse is the answer to those of you who use a computer a lot. The ball-less concept means there's no need for a mousepad which means no sticking! This really reduces the strain on the wrist.

In all honestly I wasn't overly excited by the...

Nice but only works a short time.
by qsabe ,Sep 22 '04
Pros: Feels nice and works on any surface.
Cons: Irrational clicking operation from shoddy parts.
This is my second Microsoft Optical Intellimouse. I fell in love with it and when the switch failed on the first one, I went out and bought a second unit. They are cheap enough, however the cheapness is derived by using shoddy parts, such as the switch that makes contact when you press the left mouse button. In both of my units, the switch after a short period of time began to bounce, causing double clicks. As Microsoft doesn't provide any protection from this, the mouse is unusable after about a year. Tomorrow I try out a logitech model.. Dang and I really liked the feel in the hand of the MS mouse too.

Some adjustment
by uaflyer ,Mar 26 '04
Pros: Lots of features and tracks better than a Ball Mouse
Cons: would be nice to have a smaller model with just 3 buttons
I got sick of cleaning Mouse balls ! Anyway, it has some neat additional buttons., but the two side buttons take some getting used to. I keep hitting them accidently.

The mouse is larger than older MS Mice, so its not great for small hands.

great mouse
by nickdangelo71 ,Aug 15 '04
Pros: optical technology, scrool wheel, side buttons
Cons: none
This is a great mouse! Ease of use just plug it into a usb or ps2 port and get mousing. Drivers only took seconds to install on my system. The back and forward buttons are great for the internet. The optical technology makes everything so smooth. If you still use a ball mouse what are you waiting for this is the one to get! I have bought two of these they are so great.

Best Mouse Ever Owned
by adquattlebaum ,Jan 13 '04
Pros: Optical. No ball to keep clean. Works on any surface.
Cons: When using the USB-to-PS1 adapter, the side buttons do not work.
I've been working on end-user PC computers for 11 years now. I am constantly swapping mice from one PC to the next. Never have I had a PC mouse last more than 8-9 months. This one has now lasted 13 months. I'm also proud to say that it has never once given me any problems.
