Pros: Powerful, Light, Inexpensive Cons: short keystroke, smallish screen
I have been using the Travelmate 342T for about a month now. I bought it because it was lightweight and powerful. It excels in both areas; it is a Pentium 3 @ 500 Mhz and weighs in at just over 4 lbs. It is very fast, a delight after having a...
Pros: Great Price, Great Performance Cons: 800x600
The Acer Travelmate 342T is one of the best values on the market today. I purchased mine in January, while I was visiting Taiwan. Having used it daily for 6 months, I must say that this is the most trouble free laptop that I've ever used. Before this...
Pros: Lightweight, plenty features, good value Cons: Short Battery life
The Acer Travelmate 342T is a great notebook! Big value in less than 4 pounds! I purchased my notebook online and the minute I received it (the next day) it was up and running. So far it has been very reliable with tons of useful features - large hard...
Pros: light weight! Cons: battery life poor, very expensive battery replacement
Have it since it was first available. Upgraded to a 40 gig and 512 RAM. Acer replaced the keyboard and touchpad under warranty at about 2 years (I had bought extended warranty.) An exceptionally small, light weight and powerful machine. Cannot handle wireless cards (tried 5, yes, 5 different manufacturers). Ditched Win 98 for XP Pro and that helped a lot. A great little machine.
Pros: Light weight, excellent performance, reliable, friendly key board. Cons: External Drive a bit clunky, but you rarely need it anyway.
I bought this machine second hand off a friend at work, he'd up graded and offered it to me. I accepted, took it home and started to use it. Seemed a little slow, the 64 meg of RAM it has in by default I recommend upgrading. Got a further 128 meg in from www.offtek.co.uk and wow, it transformed it. I`m down loading music all day at work via the tremendous network card, then home to surf and check emails on the dial up, all excellent. It started with Win2K Server installed, formatted put on XP, it struggled. Finally formatted again, this time put 98 se on, it flies like a jet plane with the added RAM. This machine has put ACER on the map for me, I`d look at them first before any Tosh or Dell anyday.
