Pros: Everything!!!! Screen, Upgradability, Durability, Portability. Cons: Non at this time!
I have nothing but praise for this machine. It was my B-day present in 2000, and After a few upgrades last year I've still got a wonderful notebook that it up to par with what one will but for 1500$+ today.
Pros: Lightweight, attractive periwinkle cover, fast processor speed Cons: Great memory load causes immediate crashes, Compaq isn't very compatible with other installable products.
Great Features to Squawk About
I got this Compaq laptop refurbished, so the price I got it for might stun you. I got this computer in July of 2000 and have worn it basically to death over this past year.
I bought my Presario for use in my college dorm. I really don't use it on the go very much, instead I was looking to invest in a computer that could save space in an otherwise crowded room. This laptop more than met my expectations.
compaq ,HP , Radio Shack support Not GOOD ! by lucabrotsi ,Jul 31 '04
Pros: workhorse, great until it breaks.dvd/cdr Cons: cost of repair, service centers.
I have had this laptop with no problems for about 4-5 years. And it has been great. 3 months ago the power supply went and I called compaq, It was a nightmare. It turns out radio shack is the authorized center for repair and from power supply went to mother board replacement and then LCD, all for a grand total of 3 months and $1200 estimate for repair. The laptop sells for 300-400 refurbished. Rule of thumb, back you data up! and buy a refurbsihed laptop, dont get sentimental. The repairs on laptps is worse than taking your car to a dealer for an oil change.
