Pros: Dual display, paperback size, great video, lots of ports Cons: No Ethernet, Need add-ons, hard-to-find accessories
Like others, I was skeptical that such a tiny machine (think paperback book) could serve my heavy computing needs. All doubt has been removed! The Sony PCG-C1VN is the most advanced piece of consumer electronics I've ever seen. Here's what makes it...
Pros: Size and Weight, runs cool Cons: standard battery still runs a bit short.
I was hoping to be the first person to write an unbiased opinion on this product. I was saddened to see the epinion that beat me to it, until I read it and saw how freakin biased it was. I wonder if it's for real, or if it's some lame sony marketing guy...
Pros: Small, Fast (relatively speaking), and it has the spy cam... Cons: a little pricey...
When I started working for Sony, they had just released the PCGC1X...the very first Picturebook computer. The first thing I noticed was the video camera built into the LCD Screen...too cool.
Do you realize that this computer is small enough...
Pros: Compact size, Excellent screen Cons: Slow processor, Compact keyboard may bother some
Having already owned both the Sony Vaio Picturebook PCG-C1X (266Mhz) and the PCG-C1XS (P2/400Mhz), I eagerly awaited for Sony to release the new PCG-C1VN model. While I was initially leary of the use of the Transmeta Crusoe chip, I figured Sony must know...
Pros: Portability; Integrated Camera; Hibernation Mode Cons: Having to purchase CD ROM separately
Last week I purchased the Sony SR5K notebook computer. I was very impressed with it, especially the portability. I have nothing but positive things to say about the SR5K. But then I saw the C1 PictureBook and I couldn't resist. I took the SR5K back...
Pros: Impressive technological marvel, extra-portable, good battery life, built-in camera Cons: Cramped keyboard, odd display size, pricey
WOW! I really don't know how else I can describe my first encounter with this little device. I was the lucky person designated to buy one of these for work (although I will not get exclusive use of it ;-( )
Pros: Ultra-lightweight and compact, high powered processor and good ram/disk Cons: Single-spindle system (no floppy, no cd), lack of some types of ports
Wow, I can't tell you in enough words how much I love my PGC-C1VN laptop! However, I can tell you that it is perfect for my needs. I recognize that it might not be perfect for everyone, so consider your options.
Pros: MEMORY STiCK-WIRELESS FILE TRANSFER-Built In VIDEOCAMERA-FaST as ANY OTHER COMPUTER Cons: Only 1 USB Port, No EtherNet HoLe
I was never interested in a laptop until I saw this little thing. It had everything that the other Thin laptops have, but it is small enuff to fit into the pocket in cargo pants! Unfortunately, I did not keep it because they DID NOT have a MEMORY STiCK...
Sony C1VN is probably the smallest ‘real computer in small size” out there. The C1VN is in Sony signature purple housing with all of the ports on board except serial, parallel, NIC, and IRDA.
Pros: Small, Useful, Great Display, Decent Battery Life, Built in Camera... Cons: Expensive, No floppy or CD-Rom included, Not enough ports
Well, I bought this laptop about 2 years ago now. I splurged and got i when it first came out. Mine happens to be a Europe only model(C1VE) but this is exactly the same of the US(C1VN). The main reason I opted for this laptop was because of its size....
Pros: small, lightweight, powerful, fast Cons: floppy / cd drives are external
Folks, the PictureBook C1VN is great!! This little computer has more speed and power than most desktop computers in about a tenth of the weight and a LOT smaller. It allows you to take care of those pesky reports and record the scenery using a digital...

Pros: size, battery life Cons: doesn't run win2000 well.
Great fully functional laptop. True to the VAIO commercials, I always get comments when I use it on the plane. I carry this around instead of my IPAQ or Palm since it actually runs all the tools I need.
Pros: Has a camera. It's small. Cons: It's slow, poorly manufactured, falls apart. Almost NO expansion at all.
My mom bought me this laptop which I idiotically requested. I didn't think. I am an impulsive buyer. The thing was $1600, NO Cd-rom, NO floppy, NO cd-rw, NO dvd-rom. It has 1 usb port, 1 telephone port (v.90) 3 hour battery. Built in camera. Weak case,...

Pros: Overall reliability Cons: ...poor battery life.
My C1VN has been in use for at least five years and has served me well. Despite its small size, it runs all the programs I need to run with great effectiveness...although slowly.
