Pros: Cheap, lightweight, Palm compatible Cons: Cheap, system has limitations, monochrome screen
Summary: As the resident office computer nerd, when my boss wanted a PDA I had to evaluate those out there. My own preference was for the HP 540 series. Windows compatibility was a major plus. But he wanted something that he could carry in his shirt pocket and ... read more

Pros: Thin, light weight design. Palm OS. Built in rechargeable Batter. Cons: Poorly placed IR port, shoddy attachment of Stylus, Still no OS flash upgrade.
Summary: I had been watching Handspring for some time, waiting for the promised Visor Edge. Well, they definitely named it correctly. One of the first things I did was slice my finger on the flip up cover. The unit is square, so the flip up cover has a very ... read more

Pros: Excellent screen contrast in varied lighting conditions. Cons: Not as compatible with third party applications as Palm Pilot.
Summary: The Visor is functionally similar to my old Palm Pilot III. I think the display is superior, especially in dim lighting, but the new Pilot 100 seem to be as good. I switched when the backlight on the Palm failed, and it was going to be a long wait for a ... read more

Pros: Thin, stylish, and rechargable, with a very nicely designed flipcover. Cons: Expanding takes away the flipcover, and bulks unit to the size of a Visor Platinum.
Summary: Finally!! Handspring released a Visor without the usual clunky, boxy design! And it's still expandable! But there's a catch...

Pros: runs fine. brighter screen than Palm 3 Cons: no flash memory, 8mb module doesn't help much
Summary: I agree 100% with the user drdavec1. I just have one more thing to add.
I originally thought that if I get the 2mb version, I could just make it 10mbs by adding the 8mb flash module. Any John Doe out there would have made the same logical ... read more

Pros: Cheap. Reliable, Lots of memory Cons: Not as functional as CE, not color screen
Summary: At first, its hard to tell the Visor Deluxe from the Palm III series of handhelds. Because these little computers use the latest version of the Palm OS, they are alike in more ways than just looks. They are similarly easy to use and offer the same ... read more

Pros: Springboard Modules Cons: Above-Mentioned Quirks
Summary: It seemed to me that the visor was the exact same as the palm, yet more readily available and a little more versatile due to the springboard module option. However, in the twelve days that I had my visor (Best Buy has a fourteen-day return policy), I ... read more

Pros: Great Device at a better price Cons: Long wait to speak to tech support and to get one.
Summary: The main problem with the Handspring is you cannot get one. Right now demand is far more than supply and you have to wait 6 weeks after you order to get a Handspring. It is a great looking device and it has added some nice ... read more

Pros: Cheap way to organize your life Cons: Support is the WORST I've seen
Summary: The Visor Edge is a respectable piece of hardware at a bargain price. It holds up alright to normal use with the exception of the badly designed stylus. It had the potential to be a good piece of equipment but missed the boat.

Pros: Slim form factor, sexy look, speed, springboard module compatible, battery Cons: non-upgradable OS, Different sync connector, price/performance/feature ratio, poor durability

Pros: Sleek design, springboard capability, rechargeable Lithium Ion battery Cons: Springboard requires bulky external attachment. Expensive PDA for what you get. Springboards can be pricey.
Summary: Get your tissues ready, because this is a story of a love come and gone. I was in the market for a new PDA: my old Palm III had konked out on me, and I had gotten used to the convenience of owning one. I wasn't too demanding on features, nor were ... read more
