A Good Start

by patricia63126 , Nov 08 '04
Pros: Easy to carry, convenient for small amounts of information entry.
Cons: Is heavy and a little bulky once you put it in a case
I decided back in March 2004 that I wanted to start using a PDA. Being of the old days of the planner/organizer, I thought this would really help to organize my personal life with doctor appointments etc. and professional life with meetings, projects ...

Handy PDA That's Very Functional

by darylmark , Oct 09 '03
Pros: Colors are vivid. Battery life is great.
Cons: A bit bulkier than its B&W siblings.
I purchased my Prism refurbished from E-Bay as I was upgrading from my B&W Visor to the color Prism. I have an 8mb memory card installed on the unit as well. I couldn't live without the Prism. The colors on it are very rich and with the memory modu ...

Couldn't live without my "brain"...

by carly7479 , Sep 14 '02
Pros: color screen, sensitive graffiti pad easier to write on, rechargeable
Cons: near impossible to read in sunlight, intermittent HotSync problems
This is one of the few high-tech gadgets I own that, after originally appealing to me as a fun toy, has proven to be indispensable and gets used every day. I really do not know how I ever got by without it!

Before my wonderful boyfriend...

Refurb: Cheap, heavy, thick way to get color; good unit

by kfgecko Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jul 04 '02
Pros: Cheap way to get color, totally compatible with Palm OS
Cons: Big and HEAVY
We bought the factory refurbished Handspring Prism as an upgrade to my wife's Palm III (2MB) which she had outgrown. She insisted on color, even though color meant paying 2x the price on a similar powered black and white model. The Prism was a...

Got a great deal on an acceptable starter PDA

by rhhebert , Jun 16 '02
Pros: bright colors, lots of applications, fast compared to other Palm devices.
Cons: bulky, screen is pixellated, springboard modules expensive
I got my Prism at Costco for $199 which is why I'm keeping it. Otherwise I would just save up for a Pocket PC. It seems that Palm devices are quickly becoming obsolete. This Prism however is nice. The colors are wonderful. Handspring should have made the...

Beam me up!

by me_bruno , Apr 05 '02
Pros: Expandability, and brilliant color display as well as updated applications
Cons: Display not daylight friendly
A gem of an assistant
It took some time for me to jump on the PDA bandwagon. After all, I had a laptop pretty much constantly with me, what would I need a less capable “toy” for? My workplace issued Handspring Deluxe in an attempt to make...

I love my Prism

by robguz , Mar 17 '02
Pros: Beautiful, expandable, functional
Cons: bulky, 8MB RAM is too little
I just upgraded from a Visor Platinum by getting a refurbished model on eBay. It's just as fast except in drawing color text (hardly noticeable), and even seems to hotsync more reliably that the Platinum. I'v heard some criticism of the screen, such as...

A Good choice for A Palm Based Color PDA

by pyromaniac757 , Mar 10 '02
Pros: Color, Expandability
Cons: Price, Limited Memory
If you're looking for a color Palm OS PDA, you don't have much of a selection. Your choices include a Palm IIIc, a Sony Clie, or, in my case, a Handspring Visor Prism.
The Prism's design is slightly bulky, but is overall slim enough to fit in a...

Good Color PDA

by bluelantern69 , Mar 07 '02
Pros: Vibrant Color Screen
Cons: Heavy, can't see screen in sunlight, thicker than most palm models
I owned a handspring visor deluxe for a good 5 months. As a personal trainer, my PDA was my best friend. The beauty about PDAs, lies in the fact that everything is electronically arranged neatly. I used to schedule appointments the old fashioned way,...

My reasons for the Prism

by endurance , Jan 31 '02
Pros: Color, Re-Chargeable, Linux Compatible.
Cons: Some USB Support missing from Linux Programs, Screen Outdoors.
It has been a few months now, and I have been using my Handspring Prism for just about everything, from organizing my personal life to playing great freeware games I find at Freeware Palm, but my most mission critical use is at the office, where it...

Good Deal

by tonycwest , Jan 04 '02
Pros: Love the color and speed and the larger 8mb hard drive
Cons: BAD BATTERY LIFE! drains real fast. Thank God it recharges
I had the original visor which can't hold a candle to the prism. Love the Color. Pictures look great. However I think the 8mb should have been 16. I read a review and it said that handspring said the battery life under normal use should be 2 weeks....

Handspring's first color handheld

by trevlyn13 , Nov 09 '01
Pros: Fast, decent memory, good operating system, easy to use, color
Cons: A bit pricey, boxy styling
The first color handheld developed by Handspring is, in my opinion, a huge success. The machine is fast and responsive, and the colors are vibrant. It has decent memory (8 megs); I personally have over 50 programs on mine taking up only about half...

A Neat Gadget

by celestprof , Nov 07 '01
Pros: Color Screen, Springboard Slot, USB Hot Sync
Cons: Size, Internal Battery, Color Screen in Sunlight
I purchased my Prism from Ebay from $310 which at the time was a really good price. The price has dropped considerably since then and can be found for just over $300.

I am not a real busy guy that needs to keep all my appointments somewhere...

A Handheld Worth it's Weight

by cr56 , Oct 27 '01
Pros: Over 65,000 Colors, Expandability, Speed
Cons: Screen in Daylight, Weight
When it came time for me to replace my ever-aging PalmPilot of three years, I was bound and determined to go color. I was also determined to purchase a product, with some research of course, that was not within the Palm family. This was not because I'd...

Love the color, but a bit bulky

by ristle , Sep 19 '01
Pros: Palm OS, bright color, great in all light except direct bright sunlight, expandable.
Cons: expensive, bulky compared to other PDA's.
The Visor Prism is my first PDA. I did a lot of research, and figured I would buy a Palm. But when I looked at the Palms, they did not seem anywhere near as good. I looked at the Palm 500 and 505. The 505 screen was hard to read and very poor color,...
