by kd5czf , Dec 17 '02
Pros: Cheap, Lots of memory.
Cons: kind of bulky, light drains battery, AAAs only.
The Visor Pro is a good handheld for those on a budget. It is durable and has lots of memory. Many software apps and game are available, many from right off of the Handspring website. The Springboard Slot lets you turn it into everything from a Cell...

Handspring Visor Pro 16MB

by punkertfc , Dec 15 '02
Pros: Rechargeable battery, 16MB RAM, Springboard expansion slot.
Cons: Rechargeable battery is not removeable, No DC-in port, Poor screen cover.
When I first recieved my Visor Pro, I eagerly tore off the packaging, grabbed the Visor... and waited. The battery comes discharged, and when you first open the package, you have to wait for the battery to charge up before you can put it through it's...

well, *I* like it

by keefemm , Nov 15 '02
Pros: 16MB!! expansion capabilities, freebies from Handspring web site.
Cons: thicker than average Handspring, cover IS useless, hard to find modules at local stores
Bought my Handspring Visor Pro in June 2002. I shopped around for about three weeks, checking prices, checking capabilities. What I was really looking for was an e-book reader, but for the price, I figured I might as well get some sort of PDA. My sister...

Handspring Visor: too little, too late.

by kenfused , Jun 10 '02
Pros: 16MB built in memory, Rechargeable battery, Springboard slot
Cons: Dated design, Springboard slot
The Handspring Visor line has been one of the most successful PDAs ever. Period. Building on the Success of Palm OS, Handspring was an innovator when the Visor was launched about 2 years ago. Since then, they have slipped, in providing new products with...

Best In It's Class

by ericbro30 , May 13 '02
Pros: Very easy to use, clear display, lots of storage
Cons: Is thicker than most newer Palms on the market
I have wanted a Palm since they came on the market but I could not find a legit reason to purchase one. Finally I procured a position at work where I have to organize a lot of files and records. I spent about 2 weeks reading reviews and asking salesmen...

This one will last you a while.

by cldstar , Apr 25 '02
Pros: Huge memory, rechargeable, fast processor. GREAT price.
Cons: More bulky than some handhelds
My first Visor was a Platinum and I loved it. The fast Dragonball processor and 8 meg of RAM were well suited to my needs as a student. It kept all my data at my fingertips and was fun to use. I had the flexibility to use it with Outlook and coordinate...

Pro is to Platinum as Neo is to Deluxe

by gorocco Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 09 '02
Pros: 16MB RAM, Springboard expansion slot, price
Cons: Bulky
Continuing my quest for a new PDA, I decided to take a look at the latest and greatest in Handspring's Visor line: the Visor Pro. Now that the Visor Neo has replaced both the Deluxe and Platinum models, Handspring needed to up the ante for a new,...

Absolutely Awesome PDA!

by lowesman , Mar 10 '02
Pros: More memory than I know what to do with and an attractive platinum case
Cons: None
I recently purchased a Visor Pro as an upgrade from my Visor 2MB that I purchased a year ago. Let me just say that it was one of the best electronics purchases I have ever made!

I keep a great deal of addresses and memos, as well as an...

Pros: Highly expandable to different uses, good size and weight, many 3rd party application support
Cons: Wish I had it sooner

Visor Pro, Power on a Low Budget

by cookie_cool25 , Feb 18 '02
Pros: 16 MB of RAM, Hands-Only Lookup, Rechargeable battery, good price, great monochrome screen, zippy processor
Cons: Not much in the way of new features, still not upgradable
Take a springboard slot, a zippy processor, a great monochrome screen and double the memory and you get the appropriately named Handspring Visor Pro. The first thing that'll you'll notice is the 16 mb of RAM. People who use programs like Avantgo or...

Handspring Visor Pro Solves Basic Palm Problem

by rclayh , Jan 26 '02
Pros: 16 Megs RAM, Springboard Slot, Great Battery life
Cons: Same old Palm Backlight, few included applications, Palm OS 3.5, no Leather Case.
I don't know about you, but my problem with any Palm OS-based PDA has been the same - I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR ALL THE COOL APPS I WANT TO LOAD! Well that fundamental Palm shortcoming is removed with the Visor Pro. Everything else about the Visor Pro...

The professional Palm OS PDA.

by lavoisier Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Dec 22 '01
Pros: 16MB, infinite expandability, affordable and rechargeable.
Cons: Old School design, still not a color PDA.
For those who have addresses, appointments, contacts, to do lists, memos and many more to organize your priorities, it’s ideal for them to invest on a PDA. For professionals who are always on the run, have appointments and the organization of the agenda...

Visor Pro

by kmjackson , Dec 18 '01
Pros: Rechargable Battery, 16 MB, Palm OS, Familiar Design
Cons: Slightly bulkier than other models.
The Visor Pro makes the jump to 16 MB. Due to the limitations of Add on Memory this is quite significant. If you plan on using your pda as a repository of databases or lots of raw data the bump to 16 MB will give you a little breathing room. The other...

Best Handspring

by jsnorman , Oct 19 '01
Pros: Springboard expansion, 16MB, faster processor
Cons: Bulky, pricey
SUMMARY: Among Handspring devices, the Pro is a clear, though pricey, winner if you need to use the Springport expansion slot.

I traded in my Sony Clie to get a Handspring because I knew I wanted to use the 802.11b card that just came out...

Visor Pro now with 16Mb

by debri , Oct 13 '01
Pros: 16Mb Main Memory, rechargable battery, Palm OS, Springboard modules.
Cons: Design could be better, plastic casing, un-handy protective cover.
This brand new device is not brand new on all it's features. The casing is a bit outdated and the system software is not the latest version either.
Is this bad? I'd say no. The 3.5 version of the software is very stable and it's working perfect with...

Handspring Visor Pro - Update to French Vanilla

by yusakugo Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Oct 07 '01
Pros: Springboard slot, Palm OS, 16 MB of memory, older Visor accessories fit
Cons: Bulkier than other Palm units, Springboards expensive, design same since Visor creation.
As I write this, a good analogy popped up while reading mkaresh's 2002 Camry epinion. I couldn't help but think of Handspring's latest entry into the market as plain vanilla in the Palm OS hardware world. This isn't to say that the Visor Pro isn't...

I first got a visor...
by gzanchi_dt3000 ,Mar 09 '03
I first got a visor deluxe for $99, then a visorphone, gps and some extra software. I droped it and the screen broke, I called customer support and they told me the new screen would cost..$99! So I decided to upgrade and bought a the pro, memory and more software. Carefully avoiding to break the screen again, it got some humidity and water condensed betwen the layers of the screen, results: it first lost sensitivity to the touch and finally stopped working. I called customer support again, because the machine was supposed to be under warranty, and a technician told me it was covered by the warranty, but when i requested a return authorization, Alas! A payment of $20 $99 dollars was required prior the service (?) I mean, does it matter anything for this people to invest around $700 for a lousily constructed device? What the hell (pardon the expression) are they thinking? Buy a visor and keep it in the box?

While shopping for a new...
by hikingjay_dt3000 ,Dec 26 '02
While shopping for a new organizer Handspring seemed like the best choice for the price out there. How very very wrong I was. My Organizer came with a 90 day warranty and just after 90 days it crashed. None of the resets recommended worked nor was there anything on their web-site that was helpful, so I called their support line. After dumping a large sum of money to buy this product just over three months ago they wanted another $20 before I could even tell them what was wrong with my organizer. If 90 days is all that Handspring thinks their products are good for, and if they only last 90 days you will be far better off buying something else, anything else. I even wrote to their customer service telling them how disappointed I was, but they don't care. They got their money and don't want to hear from me again unless I give them more. If I were you I would never buy ANY Handspring product, because if it breaks they don't care.

by onawho_dt3000 ,Dec 05 '02
Excellent product for the money. Compared to Palm m500 (same price)the Pro is the best product for the money at this level. The ability to attach modules gives it increased usability, hope to use it for years to come.

I was reluctant at first and now I cannot function without my Pro. It handles all the applications that I need. Handspring outdid themselves with this economically priced, yet dependable device. Can't wait to see what they come out with next. For first time users or Professionals, the Visor Pro is a tool that you can't do without

overall I have very happy with my visor. I was orginally thinking about getting the ipaq but it is just too expensive still and the visor seems to work well for me and I use it not only for the planner and addresses but I also take notes on it for all my classes.

by stameyrh_dt3000 ,May 30 '02
I use my Pro in place of a Daytimer and it has been great. I have several modules and I have had fantastic success with them. The Pro is priced right also. Handspring did a good job with this. I have used the Handspring Deluxe which was also good. I also enjoy the size of the screen on the Pro. It is bigger than most of the Palms. Big plus.
