Pros: COLOR!!! Portable, handy, convenient, lots of memory, lots of applications... Cons: no case included, not entirely wireless, no modem
Palm IIIC ROCKS! I've had it for over 8 months and am addicted to it. No other organizer I've ever used compares to it. Number One, it uses a Palm operating system. Very convenient and easy to use. The color screen is bright and very new age compared...

Pros: Easy, efficient, loaded with features Cons: Absolutely No TECH HELP AVAILABLE
I purchased a Palm IIIx in October. It took only a day or two to master graffiti(shorthand for inputting info) and was totally comfortable with its operation within a couple days. It is without a doubt worth every penny I paid for it. I had been using...

For a mac, possible headaches
by bigrivershop ,Nov 03 '03
Pros: Everything you need in a handheld Cons: Trouble synching to Mac osX
First of all, this is everything you need in a handheld- not a lot of gadgets that will slow you down, just a plain and simple (yet colorful) memory and note taker companion. I use my with OS X for the mac, however, and have some synching problems with the cradle that I haven't been able to resolve fully.
You can find these used everywhere for about as much or less than the Zire, which to me is a dumbed down, black and white version of this one.

Overall this is a wonderful PDA... The only fault in it is the short life of the battery... Since I am a computer programmer... I didn't take much for me to replace it myself... but to find one at a low cost is impossible. I guess if anything had to go bad on it, the battery is one of the best things that could go... seeing that it does not damage anything other than maybe a loss of data.

I Like it! Got a foldable keyboard to go with the 3c and it is nice. It is not for intense users but good for the person that wants to take down their thoughts and send things out later. You should be a solid PC user and know how to load and install software. Some technical expertise required if you want full utilization. Overall, good product. Could use a little more memory built in.

by riffrandall_dt3000 ,Apr 03 '02
I love(d) my Palm IIIC--to death. It is easy to use and there is lots of shareware out there to organize oneself and games to keep you busy in airports. I had great fun with the digital camera and gps attachments. That said, after 15 months of loving this device, the battery will no longer recharge. Much to my surprise, I've discovered that (unlike cordless phones...) the battery cannot be easily purchased & replaced--it has to be returned to Palm for a price steep enough to almost pay for another PDA. Therefore, I cannot recommend this particular device to a friend.

by cw_iiic_dt3000 ,Jun 06 '02
Unit has held up well to 15 months of use. The design has a flaw in the power supply used to run the color screen - EMI from a bright screen interferes with the stylus digitizer. Check newsgroups or discussion about the common IIIc "grafiti recognition problem."

by ricky_dt3002 ,Jan 14 '03
Excellent product. Recharagable battery is still going strong after 2 years. By reading manual, I extended amount of time between charges by 150%. Almost all software works on it. No internet access, but really, why use a tiny Palm for the internet?

Over long-term battery
life deteriorates badly,
is my one experience with
2 year old Palm III, to the
point where the batteries
were dying before giving a
warning, losing all
information not already
"hot-sync"ed.
