Pros: Does what you expect: to do lists, planner, telephone numbers Cons: No improvement over the Palm III, repair process is cumbersome and costly
I see that my opinion is not in the majority. I guess it is possible that I was just unlucky and got a lemon. However, I have had a similar experience as beenen, so I recommend reading his opinion as well. My first mistake was not choosing to...

Pros: Sleek, lightweight, practical to carry with you, durable Cons: Pricey -- you do pay for the good looks! Hard-cover case highly advised
Although the manufacturer has hyped the Palm V's slim profile --- and it is undeniably much slimmer, lighter, and easier to carry than its predecessors --- they may be missing a good bet in not capitalizing on its durability, too.
I've owned...

Pros: Light-weight, fairly intuitive Cons: A little pricey for what it offers.
The main reason I went out and bought the Palm was because I wanted a more efficient way to keep track of my appointments. I also liked the idea of having my address book in such a small devise.
I'm a little bit of a techie so after I...

Pros: Clean, slim Cons: Poor protector
If you carry your Palm V in your front, jean pocket along with keys, change, cell phone and wallet, I would not recommend the Palm V Slim Leather Carrying Case.
The cover of the carrying case is loosely bound by a strap and loop, allowing...

Pros: Flawless function, great design Cons: Hotsynch is slow
I love electronic gadgets and I have owned everything from a watch calculator to a phone dialer. But nothing has approached the functionality of my Palm V. At first, I was attracted to Windows CE PDAs from Philips and HP - if you are in the same space,...

Pros: Lightweight, small, sleek Cons: Probably not as drop resistant as others.
I purchased my Palm hardcase about three months ago, and have not regretted it at all! It's a very sleek case, that doesn't add very much weight to the Palm, and quite little size. With it on my Palm Vx, it amounts to about the same thickness as an...

Pros: small size, abundant software, THE standard for PDAs Cons: no handwriting recognition
As a former owner of the Newton 130 and 2000 PDAs, I was forced to give them up when Apple abandoned Newton. My transition to the Palm Vx, however, has been a delightful experience with only a few glitches.
I'm most amazed by what I can...

Pros: stylish, ease of use, lightweight. Cons: low memory, somewhat $$
I am an unorganized mess. Let's just get this out in the open right now. I have owned every paper-based planning system in the world, from Franklin to Day Runner, and have never managed to use them for more than a month or two at a time. I'll either...

Pros: re-charges in cradle, sleeker design Cons: no wireless net connection (but that's not really a problem given that PDA web connection is still "first generation"
I fell in love with the Palm Professional (pre Palm III!) and have played with every version that has come along since. I currently own a Palm VII but if I had the decision to make again, I'd buy a Palm V. The wireless connection in the VII is nifty...

Pros: Aesthetically more attractive, thinner Cons: Easily turns on automatically; scroll button engages too easily when unit is turned on, resulting in dead battery; recharging the battery is more cumbersome than replacing it; reverse back lighting is difficult to see in comparison to Palm III
I purchased a Palm V because I preferred the thinner, smaller, aesthetically attractive form factor over the Palm III series. Within a few weeks, however, I realized I made a mistake and should have purchased the Palm IIIx (more memory at a lower...

Pros: Style, style, style, and a bit of protection, too. Cons: Mechanics probably designed by Palm summer interns or Apple castoffs...strangely unthoughtful.
The Palm V hard case is a remarkably half-considered product. On one hand, its slick, silver looks complement the stylish Palm V as well as you might hope. On the other hand, several curiosities about its design leave you wondering how much "real...

Pros: New Slim Design Cons: Cost
The Palm V will be known not only for being one of the Palm Pilots but also for its new looks.
The Palm V comes housed in a thin, aluminum case that is half the thickness of its predecessor, the Palm IIIx and it weighs 2 ounces less. The case...

Pros: Portability, intuitive interface, multiple functions Cons: Price, limited memory
Why would I spend $450 for a PDA, then $150 for a modem for it, then $40 for a portable recharger just to get e-mail while traveling when I could spend about the same amount of money for a low cost laptop/notebook computer that does a whole lot more?...

Pros: Crisp LCD screen, Truly pocket-sized, very solid Cons: Pricey, not enough memory, especially for the price
The Palm V improves on the revolutionary Palm series of personal organizers. The folks at 3Com took everything that made the Palm III series so successful and put it into a smaller, lightweight package. They gave it rechargeable lithium batteries and an...

Pros: awesome Cons: none
Yes, Palm finally does meet it's match, and it's not in the form of the Windows CE devices that Microsoft
would want us to buy. It's in the form of the Handspring Visor Deluxe, a PalmOS PDA from a company ...
