Pros: Nice look, great functionality Cons: included accessories (case)
The palm portable keyboard is, in my opinion, an absolute necessity for anyone who uses their Palm for entering large amounts of information. I picked up my keyboard for my Palm Vx the other day and it goes absolutely everywhere with me when I am...

Pros: You can type, and pretty well at that. Cons: The software strikes me as a bit half-baked.
An outrageously clever device
The idea of producing a Palm keyboard that folded so you could take it anywhere was, in my view, absolutely brilliant. When I compared this and the GoType in the store, I realized that I'd get a lot more...

Pros: VERY compact when folded, FULL size keyboard when opened. Hotkeys and other shortcut keys supported. Cons: Collapses in the middle when unsupported (need a firm surface). Driver could use more refinements.
(Updated 4/19/00) Palm has just recently shipped my pre-ordered "Palm Portable Keyboard" and it just arrived today. Not bad considering I only ordered it 4 days ago and it wasn't scheduled for released until the 2nd week of March.

Pros: Great design and portability Cons: Some software compatibility issues
Every so often, a product is released that amazes me. The Stowaway keyboards are such an item. They combine function and form into a small package that easily fits into your back jeans pocket.
When I first saw the product, I immediately...

Pros: Pocket-sized, good feel, wow factor. Cons: Slightly fragile. Often sluggish response to keys.
I recently received the Palm V series portable keyboard as a Christmas gift. I was eager to pop my Palm Vx in and get typing as soon as the wrapping came off. After installing the driver from CD onto my palm, I slid it into the small cradle and began...

Pros: Compact, fully functional, VERY clever design, maximizes functionality while keeping hands on the keyboard Cons: Not easy to use if you don't have a flat surface to put it on
I absolutely love my Palm PDA! You're gonna laugh at me, but I still have a Palm Pilot Personal (with the Palm III upgrade card though...). I use it daily for my calendar, contact list, to-do's... heck, why not take notes with it too?!?
When...

Pros: foldability, key travel, tactile feel, visual aesthetics, outstanding engineering Cons: more expensive than the GoType!, lacks some of the software of theGoType!
I know that a pda is not a word processing center. If I wanted to do word processing I would have brought my laptop. I've said these things and many more over the past year and a half, but I still found myself scratching a lot of stuff into my Palm...

Pros: The best alternative to grafitti; high quality device; very small Cons: somewhat expensive; you may need to buy an add-on third-party word processor
After I bought my Palm Pilot almost a year ago, I quickly got used to Grafitti. Once you get used to it, the Grafitti language becomes very accurate, but never extremely fast. I loved using Grafitti to enter short memos or coming up events in the...

Pros: Highly useful, lightweight, affordable, and compact alternative to laptop computer Cons: Need word processing program, prop-up angle awkward, keys a bit soft
Goodbye to the days I was forced to lug my 8-lb. laptop (plus accessories) to take notes in class, everyday. The bottom line is, if you're considering the keyboard to ease your ability to enter your daily appointments, it's not worth it, but if you're a...

Pros: Neat industrial design, works well. Cons: Slightly expensive
I first bought the GoType! keyboard, but ended up returning it. The GoType has it's own base, it makes it easier to type on your lap whereas the Palm Portable Keyboard needs a flat surface. But since I am not very likely to need/want to type on my lap...

Pros: Small, smartly designed, low power consumption, rugged. Cons: Difficult for large fingers, no carry case.
This is not a review of the Stowaway Portable Keyboard - it is for the Fellowes Pocket PDA Keyboard. When Epinions creates a new category for this, I will move this review there.
I have owned the Palm III ever since it debuted...

Pros: Tiny! Foldy! Good action, full-sized keys! Cons: One minor software problem. That's it. Nothing else.
So, I've had a Visor for a while, and I'd been avoiding using it for extended text-entry, since doing lots of writing is kind of tiring. It's great for jotting notes, but not necessarily for, say, taking notes during classes or presentations. ...

Pros: well-made, easy to use, comfortable keyboard Cons: expensive
After pondering whether or not to get the Palm Portable Keyboard for my Palm Vx for months, I ended up getting one as a Christmas present. I am thrilled with it already!
STRENGTHS:
-The keyboard is very compact, and folds up into a...

Pros: Its full-size keys allow full-speed touch-typing on my Palm, and it's very portable. Cons: Must be used on a flat surface, and PalmOS is still a stylus-oriented interface.
Do you touch-type? I see no reason to buy this portable keyboard unless you do. You can probably hunt-and-peck with the on-screen keyboard just as quickly as you can with this portable keyboard.
Does Graffiti slow you down? Does the on-screen...

Pros: Full sized, foldable, small travel size, Wow factor Cons: Visor version does not come with case
For any user of a Palm device, whether it be a Palm or Visor, the realization that Graffiti won’t cut it for everything always comes when you try to get serious about using your PDA beyond its PIM capabilities. This is where the Stowaway Keyboard (for...
