Faster than the Average Man in the Bedroom

by hwz1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Sep 09 '00
Pros: Easy to set up, nevers jams, very fast, quiet, best value for the money
Cons: None that I have found to this point
Ok, ok! I know the average lasts something like 28 seconds and of course this printer should be faster than that, right? Of course! The key is that the 1220C is an excellent printer that is not only, but also does an excellent job- unlike many of the...

As A small business owner, I was in need of a FAST, durable, and high quality printer. I bought the 1220c after purchasing the 932c. both are fantastic printers, however, the 1220c is much faster, with twice the ram than the 932c. Both use photo 3...

by adamadi , May 28 '00
Pros: Can print Large paper, Excellent quality, Great Software, Also has a straight paper path option
Cons: Expensive compared to other printers
First of all, I must say this is a professional printer. If you are a regular home user, don't consider this printer. If you want a smaller version of this same printer, check out the 950c. Read my review of that printer here:

Broaden your printing horizons

by jvanwyhe , Nov 18 '00
Pros: aesthetics, document size, speed, quality
Cons: annoying blank feeds, jams on cheap paper
I'll start off by saying that the 1220C is not for everyone. Having purchased mine in early May of 2000, it cost nearly $450. While I'm sure the price has dropped significantly, it still is too high for most home users. However, this printer is a must...

Pros: Prints PostScript, Large Format Capacity

Hewlett-Packard printers, specifically their color inkjets, have always been great. I've owned six since my first 597C. And when I was in the market for a professional-grade color printer, I knew I wanted to choose from HP's offerings, but their range...

Great for Photos

by prettycat , Sep 28 '00
Pros: ink cartridge lasts a long time
Cons: won't easily bleed to bottom edge of paper
I upgraded from the 870cse to the 1220 and I couldn't be happier. I've started doing photo restorations on my computer and the 1220 delivers near-photo quality prints. The picture color from screen to paper is very close also.

I bought the...

by dcurley2000 , Feb 01 '01
Pros: Quiet, great photos, fast, good software driver, excellent HP support
Cons: None if you have space for one!
I didn't plan to buy this when I went printer shopping. I was waiting for the much-touted DJ 990cse/cxi to hit the streets. When it finally did, I found the 1220C while scouring the web for vendors who actually had a 990 in stock. I compared the spec...

Worth it
by ilader ,Feb 08 '05
Pros: largest sheet size, common print cartridges
Cons: slow first page, jams, frequent paper feed problems
This printer is not "Professional", despite its name. It is based upon the HP 45 and 78 main-line consumer cartriges, but does not perform quite as well as the smaller printers that use those cartridges. In trying to be "Professional", this printer does a lot more annoying printhead cleaning, so short print jobs take much longer. Mine also frequently jams paper, and frequently requires me to manually press the paper feed button just to print pages of a letter-sized document.
