Pros: Reliable and fast Cons: No MP3 support
If you want cheap storage, CD's that when burned, always play on your CD player, an easy to use interface, and decent write speeds, this CD burner is a definite consideration.
When considering a CD-RW drive, speed wasn't the number one...

Pros: fast, reliable, lots of software, rather cheap Cons: takes more processing power than scsi, what to do with all that extra spare time
Well, at the start of this new millennium Hewlett Packard brings us this new CD-writer. At 8x writing, 4x rewriting and max 32x reading it follows the trend started nearly a year ago. The difference is that back then, you could only get this kind of...

Pros: Works great on the 1/3 times it doesn't crash my computer. Cons: Horrible software crashes my computer on boot-up 2 out of 3 times, Annoying icons
Originally I gave this write 5 stars. Now that the software, which I don't use, which puts a numbers of icons on my taskbar, crashes my computer 2 out of 3 times I boot up, I demote it to 1 star.
Yes, I installed the update which "fixed" the...

Pros: works on data most of the time Cons: fails to write music cd tracks as advertized
I have the 7200e (HP-CD writer plus) drive at home which runs off the parallel port. My idea was to have a way to back up files and possibly use some of the other esoteric features in the Adaptec "Easy CD Creator" software. The idea of the RW...

Pros: Fits in a drive bay, that's about it. Cons: Inacurate writes, loses data after booting, kills discs
The 7200i was my first CD burner and it has not met with my expectations in any way, shape, or form. I originally purchased it on the advice of a friend who warned me that some burners don't write well to certain color discs, but that isn't a problem...

Pros: Efficient, clean, good CD's everytime. Cons: None yet. I suppose the price could go down some, but the price for everything could go down some too.
Why not get a cd burner? Everyone is doing it. Pretty much everyone is doing it. The HP 8250i is suitable for those who don’t mind burning cd’s in ~20 minutes or so. It’s a great product from HP’s line of great products.
If you are computer...

Pros: Easy setup on most machines, CDR and CD-RW Cons: Doesn't like proprietary hardware/software, speed
In my field, I get to support some interesting hardware and just about every piece of computer equipment requires my support. I have had the opportunity to work with a slightly older model of the HP SureStore CD-Writer family, the 7300e.

Pros: Everything, fast, easy, reliable Cons: Hard to put into your computer
Buying my HP CD burner was one of the greatest choices that I made. Investing in a CDR drive is a great idea and allows you to have unlimited storage space for any type of items that you can think of. You can store information such as text files or...

Pros: faster, reliable, worth the price Cons: more expensive
The 9100 series HP writer is newer technology giving you a much more reliable cd burn. Although this writer is expensive (around $300.00) it's fast, and reliable. It will burn a whole cd in around 6 minutes. Much quicker then the hp 4 speed writer. I...

Pros: Fast, Easy Installation, Complete package Cons: None at all
I recently purchased the 9100i HP CD-RW. I was hesitant about installing it as it seems every time I take the cover off my computer it develops problems. However this product was so easy to install that it was a great experience. The installation...

Pros: easy to use, hp support, price Cons: easy to use, hp support, software package
I purchased the 9150i, which is the same thing as the 9110i except the buffer is only 2Mb's. I purchased it for $150, and it came bundled with a rio 500 mp3 player for free.
The specifics on the drive is that it is E-IDE/ATAPI, 2Mb Buffer, 8x...

Pros: Fast, IDE, good price. Cons: W2K compatibility issues, IDE
The HP 9100i 8x4x32 CD-RW Burner is a great product and now, very affordable. I purchased this product as a replacement for my ancient 2X burner. Being one who burns alot of CD media, whether it is music or data, I needed a quality burner that was...

Pros: Fast, Easy Cons: Adaptec Easy CD
I was looking into getting a CDR to start storing some pictures and MP3s. The two I looked at were the Plextor 8x20 and HP9100i(9110i).
The Plextor was SCSI so I would have had to purchase an additional SCSI card($100.00) to achieve 9 minute...

Pros: Inexpensive and fairly fast Cons: Faster drives now available - If you have the $
This HP CD-RW was the CD burner of choice with my summer employer. The 9100i's speed rating of 8/4/32 and its price tag of around 180 $US gives users quick CD burning without quick cash burning. The drive also features 4 MB of cache buffer to keep the...

Pros: Quick and easy to install Cons: Like all computer technology, it gets outdated quickly
What a way to get introduced to the wonderful world of burning your own CD's! Obviously using floppy discs has been out of style for several years. They were replaced with bulky, slow writing/reading ZIP discs. Now comes the time when every computer has...
