A CDRW that must be your choice

by rashmi338 , Jun 12 '00
Pros: Excellent product that does what it's supposed to do without any coaxing.
Cons: Not much that I have noticed.
Zip CD 650 is a CDRW (USB) from Iomega. It is one of those machines that makes its presence felt by being so trouble free that you don’t even notice that it is around. That’s what made the Zip drive so popular. Zip CD is true to Iomega’s tradition. I...

Great burner, especially for laptops

by davejohn , May 21 '01
Pros: Inexpensive, dependable, easy installation
Cons: Slow. No DOS USB drivers. Limited hardware manual, no software manual.
Since my only computer is a laptop, and I'm cheap, I shopped around quite a bit for a USB CD-RW drive. I chose the Iomega ZipCD USB based on price and Iomega's reputation. I've used their Bernoulli drives, LaserDisk, Zip and Jaz drives, mainly under...

Nice Drive

by digitaldoc , Mar 12 '01
Pros: fast, easy installation, software
Cons: bundled with adaptec, no firmware upgrades
As a longtime owner of an HP 7200 parallel port external drive (6x2x2), it was time to upgrade. "ht tp://www.epinions.com/content_ 17564929668" I wanted something fast, and that would keep my system stable as ...

ZipCD is Up to the Task

by gormly Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 17 '99
Pros: Reliable, Fast and low priced
Cons: Rebate program stinks
I have to disagree with the previous review.

I purchased the ZipCD from Iomega for a customer.
They asked me to test it in the new system they had bought.

I installed the Drive, it was instantly recognized, and 5 minutes later...

What? Burning Something Is Good?

by radio1_mike , Jan 20 '01
Pros: Iomega Brand Name, Solid Performance and Software Suite
Cons: Only 2MB Buffer
This is my first opinion in awhile!

This opinion pertains to: 8x/4x/32x CD-RW ZipCD

Background:
CD-RWs. CD-Rewritable Drives. These are CD drives that have the ability to write data to a CD. First there are...

USB ZipCD.. Not for Me

by shanna Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Apr 01 '00
Pros: USB
Cons: Expensive, Slow
Well it's here, and I've given it a spin, but to be honest with you I'm not very impressed with the new external USB ZipCD drive from Iomega. For $280 you get from Iomega what we've already had out in this area for sometime by other manufacturers.

Burns a Great Backup CD

by vandalz Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 23 '00
Pros: Very Fast and Efficient
Cons: None Thus Far
Today, it's not unusual to have a CD-R or CD-RW in a computer. Especially if it is a newer one. Most computer companies even put one in the Central Processing Unit (CPU) just to gain a possible sale.

I have an IBM which I bought six years ago...

Quality drive, but find somewhere good to hide it

by barryf , Dec 11 '00
Pros: Good quality, solid performance
Cons: P***ple
Minidisc put me off buying a CD writer for a long time, but finally I reached the point where I had bought all other available gadgets and was ready to move in on the Zip CD. OK, so I don't look so cool on the bus now, but it is good.

Good,...

I'm in Love!

by wandajune6 , Jan 18 '01
Pros: easy, fast, wonderful
Cons: haven't found any yet
I am the last person in my family to get a CD burner. I have wanted one for a few years now, but never had the funding. This year, my uncle gave my father an old burner to install in my computer and, after a battle of wills with this nasty old burner,...

ZipCD 8x4x32x...worth the $$$...

by kinneys , Dec 14 '00
Pros: Speed, Speed, Speed, Price, Price, Price, Burnproof!
Cons: Software, Internal Installation not for Beginners
To sum it up, the Iomega ZipCD 8x4x32x internal IDE burner is by far the best CD burner out there for the money. I've seen them as low as $119, after rebates, and for an 8x burner, this is unmatched. Luckily, the money isn't for junk-- Iomega has a...

(ZipCD USB)-Look around at your other options first...

by antjenkins , Feb 17 '01
Pros: External USB interface, 4X Write & ReWrite
Cons: A little buggy (okay, a lot buggy)
I picked up my unit (refurbished) from CompUSA.com for $149 minus a $50 rebate, so the price was right. Unfortunately in this case, you get what you pay for.

I wish I could blame the problems on its status as a refurbished unit, but that's...

The Big Purple CD Eater (USB)

by phrop , Aug 07 '00
Pros: Its From Iomega
Cons: Its From Iomega
I originally didn’t want the Iomega ZipCD. I spent 2 weeks looking for an HP 8210e but everywhere I looked was on backorder. With two weeks wasted I bought the ZipCD on impulse.

USB
I chose to buy an external USB burner so that I...

Excellent USB CD Burner!

by jshears , Mar 08 '00
Pros: Space Savings, Easy Installation, Very Quick
Cons: Direct CD application included isn't usable and about $100 more than an internal model
I received the Iomega ZipCD 650, an external USB CD burner and am very pleased with the product. The ease of installation, bundled software, writing speed, and size of the unit make it a strong recommendation.

Installing the ZipCD 650 was a...

Iomega does it again! Easy to use USB and CDRW together!

by kenfused , Mar 01 '01
Pros: Nice case design, quick and easy setup, quality software package. Cheap drive for Mac users.
Cons: Not the fastest CDRW you can buy, but it's the fastest USB drive available
I wanted an external USB CD burner primarily because I didn't want to pay alot of money, and having a DVD-RAM drive in my G4 PowerMac already, it didn't leave me any room to add an internal drive. I went out and got the Iomega drive because the price was...

CDs in record time

by RedLazarus , Sep 11 '00
Pros: 12x burn speed, 12x extraction rate
Cons: haven't seen one yet
A few months ago I purchased an HP Pavilion, and the CD-RW it came with had no real faults, but the 4x speed was too slow for me. I make CDs often, and I felt the need for speed.
I saw the Iomega ZIPCD drive in a CompUSA ad, it ended up being $200...
