Pros: fast for the price, but don't be fooled Cons: software fails and support has no clue how to fix it.
I have now had my iomega 12x4x32 zip cd for 2 weeks. After no less than 2 dozen attempts, I have NOT been able to burn a cd with the software that comes with product. Somehow, Iomega in their very limited wisdom, managed to ruin the well known Adaptec...

Pros: USB, lightweight Cons: not laptop portable, bulky size, plastic casing
I purchased the USB version of this drive in hopes of having a portable device for my new laptop. My main intention was to add to my cd library of frequently used data files (for web design) with DirectCD. Instead of finding a nice, durable companion to...

Pros: works fine Cons: if you have a superfast PC, the inability to run multiple tasks may be upsetting
First and foremost, I don't want to break my drive via a jinx, by praising it too much. With that said, now I would like to praise my drive. It has worked great from the start. The only problems that I have had with it have come from poor CDR discs....

Pros: Ease of install, and packaged programing Cons: kind of large to carry around in a backpack
I just reacently purchased a Iomega Zip CD-RW (external) so that when I get a lap top early next year I can move it between y PC and the lap top computer. I have to say that I was really impressed with the ease of the "plug & play" that I got from this...

Pros: speedy, purple Cons: crashes computers; locks up computers; makes silver frisbees
It all began with strange clicking noises.
The software was annoying enough to acquire...but finally, we began copying demos of our product...
until....the Iomega ZIPCD decided it liked to lock up my computer. Like a sort of short,...

Pros: Portable, relatively inexpensive Cons: a little slow, some errors
I purchased the Iomega Zip drive only five days ago, but so far I think is is pretty great. My favorite thing is that I can bring it to work since it is portable and download songs with the high-speed connection, then copy them onto the cds to listen to...

Pros: very easy setup Cons: software can be hard to figure out
I bought an Iomega ZIP drive about a year ago after a few close calls with losing data on my computer, and use it on a regular basis to archive important files. At around $200, it was one of the best buys in the store at the time. It was very easy to...

Pros: Iomega name Cons: Faulty software
All the good reviews about the Iomega CD 650 weren't written by people who have lost huge amounts of data from their hard drives.
I recently received as a gift a CD 650 and figured I could tune up my computer by putting alot of my files on cd....

Pros: Good burner, ease of USB Cons: The color, I personally hate purple, but that doesn;t matter anways.
I got my burner in October of 2000. Installation was snap, very easy to use. Had manually assign a drive letter to it for it to work, but that wasn't hard, just have to right click my computer and click properties, find it in the list of devices and...

Pros: Works as advertised. Cons: 6X read is really slow by today's standards.
Software:
Basic EZ CD Creator software. At least upgrade to deluxe or get Ahead Nero if you are serious about burning CDs. Pretty basic stuff here. What's the deal with providing a software (some automatic backup software) for you to 'try' before...

Pros: USB Cons: Somewhat slow
I have had the Iomega Zip CD for a while now and have burned a few CD's. To my disappointment I have found that it is quite slow for a burner that cost me $170. However it has more than made up for its speed with its USB interface. Because of...

Pros: Iomega name, USB Cons: Doesn't accept all brand names of CD-R media
I purchased the Iomega ZipCD about a month ago through the Apple Store. When I first took it out of the box I thought it was the ugliest thing I ever saw. I still do. But, it does what it's supposed to. Installation of the software was a breeze....

Pros: internal, easy installation Cons: software confusing
I purchased my 4x4x24 ZipCd about a year ago and I can't say I am not pleased, but I would have liked more. I use it very often and it is very reliable. I have both a Zip drive and ZipCd and I use my ZipCd much more often. I purchased this product...

Pros: It works! Cons: Dysfunctional software programs
Iomega ZipCD, it works for burning CD's...sometimes. Whatever mood your Iomega Zip CD is in, is an unpredictable thing. Sometimes it works, other times your computer is freezing up. CD Copier Deluxe, one of the programs that comes with the burner, is...
