Pros: quality of recordings, ease of use Cons: tech support not the greatest
Our Spressa burner was given to us as a gift from children who assume we know more than we do. The idea, of course, was to download music from the web and make our own CD's so we wouldn't be locked into pre-recorded materials which did not suit our...

Pros: Great burnings can burn any thing and save money! Cons: you have to buy cd-r's and r/w
I first Got this Cd Burner for my birthday and I burned many of my friends cd's and the the speed of this burner is average. But I used really inexspensive, unreliable cd-r's and the quality was great. It would sound like the original cd! Then I started...

Pros: Included software works OK Cons: Does not include useful software, poor support
I ordered my Sony Spressa CRX 100E/X2 from CDW after reviewing Sony's website information on the product. The good news is that I was able to connect the drive to my Windows 98SE computer via USB with no problems whatsoever. The bad news is that they...

Pros: excellent versatility and easy set-up Cons: a little slower on reading files.
This CDRW is an excellent value. The USB connection makes installation a breeze and transportable. The installation instructions are very simple and easy to understand. You do not have to open the computer case or understand IRQ's in order to set it...

Pros: USB, fast, and reliable. Cons: must locate another hole on an already crowded power strip.
I recently acquired the Spressa 4X 4X in USB. I'm running it in a Windows 98 environment on a AMD K6-2 300hz machine. I love it. It simply made my day when I installed it and burned my first cd. I have had many problems with my operating system, so...

Pros: Very agressive and good looking case ! Cons: The big mistake of SONY !
This is the worst of all USB CD-RW drives I have used. The software that cames in the package is very confusing and hard to configure it.
The drive makes me waste about 10 or 12 CR-Rs to make the first copy of an original CD-R.

Pros: Inexpensive unit if it works for you Cons: Expensive boat anchor if it doesn't
I purchased a refurbished unit through Ubid for $159. Had I discovered this site before my purchase I probably wouldn't have. At least I now know why Ubid has so many refurbished units for auction.
I have a Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop running...

Pros: easy to set up Cons: impossible to get parts
I got very enthusiastic about burning CD's when my sons started destroying expensive music cd's and playstation games on a regular basis. It seemed that it was time to make back up copies of every cd in the house before releasing them to the thundering...

Pros: USB Cons: Software
Don't waste your time or money on this product. The software won't let you burn a compilation of .cda files and it freezes up the cd-rom drive after every burn. I ended up downloading neroburn for it but there is no reason one should have to pay an...

Pros: I don't know if there are any. Cons: No Technical help available
I purchased this product to make back up files. However, it won't work and despite trying the 24 hour 7 day a week number for 4 days (several times each day) I consistently was disconnected each time with an abort message. There is no way to make...

Pros: none Cons: need dedicated USB port to computer, won't work with 3rd party software, high price
I bought the Sony Spressa USB CD/R and CD/RW recorder/player. The compelling reason was the USB connectivity, which I felt at the time would make the setup easier. I paid top dollar for this feature ($329).
What a mistake... the USB feature does...

Pros: Good price, ease of installation Cons: User manual lacking some information
I purchased the Sony Spressa CRX100E/X2 External USB rewritable over 6 months ago because I wanted to make my own music CD's and copy photos onto a CD format for easy storage. I wanted an external CD-RW just in case I had to use it on another computer...

Pros: Easy to install and use, reliable Cons: Incompatible with other USB equipment
I purchased the Sony CRX-120E USB 6 weeks ago at a good price ($200). Installation was painless and the "CD Extreme" software easy to use. I installed a Zip 250 USB a couple weeks later, and the CRX-120E stopped working! Calls to Sony and...

Pros: Easy to use and the software is good. Cons: Too many updates and downloads to get for the Mac before you can use it.
Scouring the net for a good external cdr-w drive for your Mac? Cool! You
may be interested in what I have to say. This model works just dandy with
the Mac but you may want to know what the deal is. First of all this Sony
Product is being...

Pros: Fast, easy, does not require powerful computer Cons: seems to have many faulty units out there!
It seems that the general belief here is that this burner is faulty and should not be on the market...
interesting. I got one at work just a couple of days ago, its hooked up to an OLD PII 266 MHz computer, which is slow as heck, has only like...
