Pros: cost efficient Cons: pics are not top quality
I purchased this scanner because I needed a low cost machine for home use.
It does a good job for what I need done. It takes a while and the pictures aren't top quality. But I didn't pay a high price for it too. I does a good job considering the...

Pros: Shows Detail, and actual size Cons: Slow
I have a small business called Sandra's Specialties. I make beadwork and jewelry out of seed beads, which are smaller than the point of a pencil. I need to show the people of my town how flawlessly I can make an 1 inch long bunny. That means I have to...

Pros: Low price, good quality scans Cons: Compatibility with Epson
I experienced consistent "fatal exception" errors after installing this scanner. Scanner and Adobe software would work fine for a couple of nights before the errors started again. I emailed HP's tech support center and got a response in 24...

Pros: cheap Cons: cheap and not supported
I had had nothing but good experiences with Hewlitt-Packard equipment on the high-end (money-wise) for over 15 years as a production manager/Mac sys admin. So, when I broached the scary area of self-employment, I purchased what I could afford of the HP...

Pros: Large scanning area Cons: Scans from magazines sometimes look blotchy
I would have loved to have bought a high end model scanner, but since I have both a Mac and an old-school-non-usb PC, I couldn't purchase one that both of them could use because of all tha additional stuff I'd need to buy, so instead I opted for two...

Pros: it's cheap Cons: doesn't work, tech support costs, corrupts files, can't link with most other products
This scanner WOULD be a nice one if it would work. BUT it's configured so that it is INCOMPATIBLE with other HP scanner/printers. No joke! I called tech support (which I might add I had to pay for) and they told me flat out that it won't work with...

Pros: Easy installation and operation Cons: Makes too much noise
We purchased a Hewlett Packard ScanJet 3200C scanner for website development work. I am the primary user.
I scan images at 150 dpi right into Adobe Photoshop, where I convert them to either CompuServe GIF format or JPEG format. The images I...

Pros: Great - when it works Cons: No off switch. Has to be turned off through the program to ever work again.
8-22-2 update:
OK, I was wrong. What I should have done was to click into the "File" area of the scanner program, then click "Exit" when I was done scanning. There is no "off" switch on the scanner, so I thought, wrongly, that just turning off the...

Pros: Simple to use, good quality scans Cons: Slowwwww, seems to be designed to burn scan light out
HP says you can use it right out of the box -- which is true. However, on my Compaq PC w/ 500Mhz Athlon processor (fast), it still takes almost 5 minutes to scan in a single page. Worse, it totally locks Win98 so I can't do anything else while waiting....

Pros: Fairly Easy Setup, Good Quality for Price, CHEAP! Cons: Basic Software Package, Bad Warranty
Once I saw the $89 price tag I figured I'd have to give this scanner a try. Hewlett Packard has a fair name for making quality products. I've bought printers and used computers made by them in the past, so I figured that based on the name and feature...

Pros: its has a easy program to follow Cons: none
I recently bought the HP Scan Jet 3200C and I really like it. When I went out to buy a scanner I wanted to find one that was not hard to use. I asked the sales man to guide my in that direction and he showed me the HP 3200C. The program is easy,just...

Pros: very easy to use, cheap for quality Cons: none
This scanner works great, plain and simple. It scans great quality pictures, and you can save them in a WIDE variety of formats, gif, jpg, bmp, are just three of the seemingly endless list of what you can save them in. The program to scan with is perhaps...

Pros: Ease of install/use Cons: Copy function very slow
This is THE scanner for light to medium usage. Setup was a breeze; HP Precision Scan LT software is very friendly and stable. This is a good choice for basic scanning jobs & text OCR. I purchased mine to incorporate WinFax Pro in my home based...

Pros: Simple to use, fun, pictures come out pretty good! Cons: Too many problems with installing the scanner program onto the computer.
I bought this scanner because the one I really wanted wouldn't work with my particular computer. I was so excited when I brought it home and hooked it up; which was very simple to hook up to my printer. (Although it is just as simple to hook up if you...
