Pros: Great looking output, good color, archival ink near indestructible, temendous media flexibility, reliability. Cons: color SO-CLOSE it's irritating. faster than some still not speedy. RIP required for best output.
I've worked with this printer for well over a year, and the over-shadowing, incredible and near impossible truth is that it has NEVER had a clogged jet ruin a print. Ever. This seems impossible, and indeed anyone who has worked with other Epson ...

Pros: Fast Prints, Real Photo Quality Cons: Horrendus technical support, Long spool times.
The 10000 looks just like the little home units but larger. For first time archival buyers it will prove to be a treat. The optional archival inks are invincible. The print quality is great, even at 720 mode (bi-directional even), the prints are...

I upgraded to this printer...
by dennis_dt3003 ,Jun 30 '02
I upgraded to this printer about three months ago and I'm very happy with it. The output is outstanding and consistant. Ink cost is low and I'm able to track the cost of the ink on each print I do. Wide selection of media including posterboard for displays without the need to mount. I only wish there was a way to use both photo and archival ink but once you use one type, you're locked in. I went with the archival inks and I'm very pleased with the quality but some media (lenticular 3D4U sheets from Mediabop for example) require the photo inks.

This is an excellent piece...
by cabin_dt3000 ,Oct 21 '02
This is an excellent piece of equipment. It did however take some getting used to. I have found the print quality be be Excellent when printing on Luster Paper. Its almost impossible to tell from a Kodak RA-4 print. However, prints must be made at the highest resolution, and slowest speed. In addition, its is necessary to set the "hex-dump" in order to get the desired quality.
Documentation is fair. Support from Epson is nothing special. They don't seem to know the equipment real well. Its best to purchase from someone who specializes in this type of equipment. They can and will offer support and a fair amount hands on experience.
