Pros: Price (depending on where you purchase), Features, Durability Cons: Keep out of reach from small children!
I bought this copier and fax combo about 2 years ago from a catalog called Fingerhut for around $170. I can't even remember why I bought it, since I'm a stay at home mother. Basically, it was to make copies of children's report cards (to give to ...
Pros: Cheap, easy to use Cons: Comes with "starter" ribbon, average resolution
We bought this fax machine in 2002 when my wife was looking for a job and we thought a fax machine would be helpful. It's a pretty basic machine - it's simple to use, and the quality is about what you would expect for the price (around $80 plus a rebate, if I remember correctly). The phone works ok, it's got caller ID, and it functions as a copier. For occasional use when top-quality resolution is not needed, this fax machine fits the bill. You get what you pay for...
Pros: Cheap, clear print.
Cons: Paper jams, cheaply made, unreliable.
Paper feed was impossible. Jammed continually. Plastic locking tabs broke almost immediately. Auto recognition of FAX call operates erratically. You get what you pay for.

Pros: Inexpensive. Cons: Challenging paper feeder.
I bought the Panasonic 151 last year at under $100, which seemed like a really good deal and a decent-featured fax. The fax feels like it is built well with heavy materials - mostly plastic like any other machine. The interface, although not intuitive, is fairly simple to work with once you've read the owners manual and used it a few times. Print quality is decent for the price range.
The disadvantage - the paper feeder doesn't work very well at all. After a few months use, I have to hand-feed it with some pressure. When paper is fed, it frequently jams. I can no longer depend on it to receive faxes automatically. If I am not there to feed the paper, it won't do it on its own. I've replaced the machine with a Lexmark all-in-one and now use this as an extra phone in the office.
Pros: Pretty reliable, typical Panasonic. Cons: Paper jams here and there.
Hey, what do you want for $109.00??
It sends and receives faxes, not the best resolution
on the market but it does the trick.
I've had this thing since I bought it new in 2001 and
it's been beat and banged up due to 6 or 7 nationwide
moves, still works as good as the day I bought it.
Left hinge in cover broke after opening/closing lid to replace cartridge. This makes cover loose and does not hold paper when faxing out. I have to hold the lid/cover down for the paper to go in straight. Had same problem with Panasonic KXFP80. Mine is out of warranty; this cover costs less than $6.00 to replace. Wish Panasonic had done a better manufacturing job. Otherwise I like the simplicity of use.
I would not recommend this machine until Panasonic replaces the cover with better, stronger plastic.
This is a good fax for the money. It is easy to use, has nice features and instructions are easy to follow. We've had no problems with the machine at all. Supplies can be purchased at local office supply stores.
Don't even bother with this fax machine--it's JUNK--if you buy it, you will regret it. by arbinger ,Sep 24 '08
Pros: It is difficult--no, impossible to name even one pro. Cons: The paper does not feed
the Panasonic KX-FP-151 will only fax one piece of paper at a time--if your job is bigger than one piece, it is totally useless. I bought it for $90, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a $90 paperweight--seriously, don't waste your time/money on this, the Panasonic KX-FP-151 is absolute junk.
