Pros: easy, free trial Cons: speed, accessability, too much porn
then I used another ISP. I thought everything took forever to load, and it's normal to get booted off for no reason. The only noise more annoying than AOL's "goodbye" is "goodbye goodbye" (it plays it twice as it kicks you off)...

Pros: easy to use Cons: too big a company
I upgraded to AOL 6.0 about a month ago. I called AOL and requested a 6.0 CD to be sent, they sent it. I installed it. I used it. And they were watching me use it ! I had no idea.
After about a month on AOL 6.0 I went to sign on and when...

Pros: Easy for new users. Cons: Few actual 'new features', site bans extend to all AOL members
AOL. Saying this name provokes fear in some, and happiness in others. Moreso fear than happiness.
When I was starting to want to dabble in the internet, I did, what most people wanting to save money, would do. AOL. At that time, they had...

Pros: None Cons: You can't cancel before trial is over. They won't follow up on billing inquiries/complaints.
I see that others had some of the same problems in canceling their free trials. When we started calling a week before the trial period (March 2004) was over to avoid charges and we couldn't get through initially. After many attempts we got through a ...

Pros: -- Cons: --
...It's really not that bad. Yes, it is supposed to be the no. 1 way to access the internet, and it's supposed to be the easiest to use. AOL probably IS the no.1 internet program used but it isn't always that easy.
Connection usually takes...

Pros: User friendly and idiot proof! Cons: The service is too slow and kicks you off too much!
I have been using AOL for about 7 years, mainly because of it's user friendliness. Everything you need is right in front of you! You don't have to try a million different web addresses to find what you are looking for. (But it is TOO SLOW!!!) ...

Pros: Easy to use Cons: Closed community, poor real internet access and too much SPAM and advertising
Most people are computer illiterate, including many people who think that are. AOL cashes in on the ignorance of the masses by providing a "community", which, unfortunately, its users consider to be the "internet". The problem is that AOL is not the...

Pros: Easy to start up with, good for beginners. Cons: This system is being run by a spastic clown who needs some new direction, rules and less frequent upgrades.
Admittedly AOL is perhaps the one of the easiest systems out there to navigate. With a huge system and plenty of wonderful options they seem fabulous. There however are some major flaws that I learned about quickly.
When I purchased my...

Pros: Good information about the latest Cons: It cuts you off a lot
Ok so I have AOL, and I can honestly say that I wish I had another service provider. The reason I say this is because when I sign on to AOL it cuts me off after a while of being on. It does this to many people I know, the other thing is that with the...

Pros: Easy Interface Cons: Ads, Cost, Updates on its own
My first experience with AOL came at a job site where it was used as a backup ISP for the company. After a few hours of use, I quickly grew frustrated with this seemingly popular Internet Service Provider. I began to ask myself the question: Why are...
