I have had such a problem with AT&T Home. I'ts been 11 days since installation and I don't have access. I have called tech support so many times. They don't call me for follow-up customer service. They sent out quality control to inspect the...

Pros: Fast, Reliable Cons: None
AT&T @ Home is nothing short of great. The cable connection is fast reliable and full of content as well. If used in conjunction with a home networking product, multiple IP addresses can be issued with no additional charges. In other words,...

Pros: none Cons: everything
IMHO AT&T @home is horrific. I had it installed for about 3 months
and the service worked for approximately 5% of that time and never
for more than 24 hrs. in a row. The main problem was loss of carrier
on the cable. The phone tech...

Pros: Fast download, always online Cons: Frequently not working, installation problems, outrageous tech support fees
I can understand that computers are a complicated business to be in. That is why I give considerable patience to people in the computer industry. It becomes a problem, however, when they take a few tries to fix things that are broken, and then charge you...

Pros: always on, far better than dial up! Cons: Transferring service is a pain, frequent outages, mail problems......
UPDATE 2/4/02-
We recently moved and took our @home (attbi) service with us. So let this be a warning you may or may not get directly from them - if you transfer service you will lose your log in names and e-mail. No, I'm not kidding. I...

Pros: Amazingly fast connections Cons: None that I've found
I have recently acquired an AT&T@home connection and I just love it! Being a very impatient person, I have tried everything to make my connection faster, from software gimicks and downloads to new and improved hardware, and nothing has even come...

Pros: Very Fast (consistantly 1.4 MB), Always On, Good Customer service Cons: Can occasionally be slow at times (down to dial up speeds)
Finally ATT brought broadband to my area! They exceeded my expectations in very way. Only took 3 days from the day I initially called to have it installed (on a Saturday, no less!). The tech was an hour EARLY! Install took about 2 hours or so, and...

Pop up Go-Hip Ad bars
This is the 4th after I had @Home installed. I'm definitely VERY impressed with the speed. Like what was claimed, web surfing is never the same again. I can now get multimedia rich content via the internet and I don't have to wait for the downloads...

Pros: Constant Connection Cons: 128 upload speed
I have used some of the best and worst of the dial up isp's in my time, but nothing prepared me for the revolution that is broadband service. I had just bought a house and was feeling the crunch so I was using some free isp's. When at last I was fed up...

Pros: cheap internet, friendly & helpful tech support Cons: - late installation, no rebate, repeatedly missed scheduled service calls, intermittent service
Horrible experience that lasted 2 years until we wised up. We decided to go with AT&T DSL and phone when we moved to Vernon, CT because they were the cheapest and seemed like they had decent ratings. We tried both the Pro and Elite DSL services ...

Internet access provider
by mackeyev ,Jul 29 '07
Pros: Quick to receive. Easy to install. Cons: Internet connection breaks down at least twice a day. Customer support is bad.
I've a contract with AT&T for the wireless Internet since Nov. 2006, and now I truly believe this is the worst service provider ever. Don't even mention, that they have never send me the rebate check for their DSL modem, it is nothing to compare with everything else. First, Internet connection may stop at any moment for no reason. Just imaging, that you're teleconferencing at this time with someone far away.. Second, multiple calls I made to their customer service, resulted in nothing - they just kept persuading me that the line is on all the time, everything works fine and so on. I'm really disappointed with them.

Would not recommend at&t
by headphones420 ,Aug 20 '09
Pros: The internet speed is good Cons: The service and the companies internet service is horrible
If you honestly can, do not get AT&T. Internet speed wise, its fine for normal web browsing and downloading ( I have the elite service) but their customer service and service in general is horrible. My internet just randomly disconnects atleast 20 times a day, 5 minutes before writing this, the internet disconnected for 20 minutes. It is honestly such a friggen hassle to just keep on trying to reconnect on a supposed 24/7 dsl service, and if you game, forget about it, nothing worse that losing connection when your mid game. I have called at&t multiple times due to this issue, and the first time, the guy didnt even show up, i literally stopped my plans waiting for the guy, and he didnt even show up. I called them up telling them, and then they were more careful, but the guy just checked the connection and left. The third time, again, no sign of the guy coming, and my connection is horrrible.

when it works, it works well
by raychouu ,Apr 20 '09
Pros: Cheap, provides okay internet Cons: disconnects too often, unreliable
The main problem here is the ability for the connection to work. Many times during the day it would disconnect for a few minutes. There's nothing wrong with my modems or cables, it just simply disconnects, sometimes leaving me with 20 minutes of no internet. I know 20 minutes doesn't seem that long, but remember, it happens mostly everyday and around six times a day on average, and when your trying to complete a project, it's pretty annoying. The AT&T staff was also late on installing it, and kept postponing the date. The advantages of this internet provider is that it's cheap. The speed's okay, could be faster (sometimes it takes a while to load some pages) , but I'm not complaining that much. Overall, it just disconnects randomly way too often.
