Pros: fast, no phone lines required, moderately priced Cons: unreliable
I spent my first three years of college with a 56K modem. Then I spent a summer with a T1 connection and realized that I could never go back. When I moved into my apartment this year, I decided that I had no choice but to get a cable modem.

Pros: Faster than DSL on download. Cons: Slower than DSL on upload.
Living in the Heart of Silicon Valley, I am one of the few people of the world that has the availability of a plethora of internet service providers that facilitate extremely fast internet connections.
I have now been using AT&T@ Home Cable...

Pros: Really fast, great for downloading music! Cons: Reliability
High speed internet connections. They seem to be getting more and more popular. There are many services to choose from. Sick of using AOL alone, we decided to get a high speed cable modem. it is great in so many ways, and other times i cant help but wish...

Pros: Fast downloads Cons: System reliability
I have been an internet junkie for over 5 years now and still going. I have tried just about every ISP that has been offered nationally and offers a free month but one day my search was over! Yes that's right, I made the switch to cable and I don't...

Pros: always connected, fast downloads, Cons: tech/customer service support is terrible, frequent outages
I have 2 computers in my home and pay for that extra line. I pay roughly $54 a month for my two computers. I enjoy having my AT&T cable internet because there is no need to have a phone line (I use a cell phone only). It is nice not hearing a dial up. I...

Pros: Fast... oh Fast... yeah Fast... ewww FASTT... Reliable Cons: lil wait for techy support when needed... who DOESN'T have this problem however?
I've been a avid net surfer since 93 or so. I've had everything from a 9600 baud (okay - that was before 93 hehe) all the way up to a share of a T3 line and I have to say AT&T's @home service is by far the most impressive, inexpensive, and best...

Pros: Fast, fast, fast. 60-day free trial & free installation! Cons: What will I do with all my spare time? If I decide to keep (why wouldn't I?) I'll spend 40 bucks a month ......
OK, I succumbed to the free offer for 2 months trial, and free installation of AT&T's Broadband @ Home cable internet service.
Even though I have been with Earthlink for years, recent issues with poor dial-up connections, unreliable...

Pros: Speed!, cost, ease of use, special programs Cons: availability
After searching for the best internet service provider for the last five years, I have finally found myself perched high atop the mountain. I have been plagued by such distractions as low-speed connections, additional charges for extra time per month,...

Pros: Blazing fast, reasonable price, great tech support Cons: Temperamental
Well, color me spoiled. I will find it hard to move to an area that doesn't have cable Internet access. Going back to a 56k dialup connection will be like going from a 56k to a 300 baud modem.
The enticement to sign up was a pretty good...

Pros: Fast downloads, when it's working. Cheaper and much faster than the DSL in my area. Cons: Horrendous customer service, frequent frequent outages, every lightning storm results in an outage (UPS anyone?)
After a few years of being told cable net service would be available in "a few months" (waiting since 1997)I finally got hooked up. If I owned the modem and got cable TV service, the promotional rate I signed up for was only $24.95 for the first 3...

Pros: somewhat faster than dial-up Cons: slow speeds most days, bad customer support, poorly trained Techs.
I have had AT&T service for years now. I have the digital cable all over my house and I thought the package would be complete with cable connection for the computer. I work at home, and I have the option of playing on the net all day if I want to, so I...

Pros: Super fast when it works Cons: Doesn't work 90% of the time (I'm online 16 hours/24)
I've had @Home installed for five weeks now. During those five weeks, I've had long stretches (up to 4 days) when there was no service at all. The service has been available on about ten days in all. The longest continuous connection I've had was 4...

Pros: High bandwidth, no dial up necessary, simple and prompt installation Cons: High monthly charge, throughput is not always consistent
The AT&T@Home ISP allows the home user to connect to the internet at extremely high speeds. The service is provided through the same cable line that is used to broadcast television signals to a home.

Pros: Speeds up to 3 megabits/second when it worked.
Easy to use when it worked Cons: Hasn't worked 99.99% of the time since installed 2 months ago & AT&T doesn't care.
When I first had AT&T @home installed, I was pretty happy - I got fast speeds, and was able to use Napster all I wanted -- it was a groovy situation, except for the fact that my service cut off 5:30-6pm each night, and came back on at 9-11 am each...

Pros: downstream bandwidth Cons: Service, Support, email, DNS, Usenet
Overall Rating? How about -3 ?
"It's great when it works" is the common opinion. But when something isn't working, which is every week for the last 14 months, it's a nightmare to do anything but walk away and hope it'll be...
