Pros: Free and great availability. Cons: Ads, sometimes doesn't connect.
I picked up one of the free CD's at Kmart, brought it home and shoved it in the drawer. Just casually thinking it yet another freebie, it wouldn't be that great. Well a few down the road I ran into problems with my ISP, they were updating and I was...

Pros: Pretty fast, not a resource hog Cons: Occasional disconnects and some weird side effects
My regular internet connection is not especially speedy. Basically, I have a dial-up account to my Dad's DSL connection at my parents' house. The upside to this is that it's free; the downside is that at a maximum speed of 28.8k bps, it's slow. ...

Pros: good speed and efficiency Cons: now only 25 hours a month
When I was looking for a free ISP I was looking for a Great website, and an easy download. BlueLight, a subsidiary of Yahoo and Kmart, seemed to fit. However I couldn't find a access number that wasn't long distance to me. That didn't really matter TOO...

Pros: Free - Yahoo powered Cons: Ad bar and ads
This is only the beginning! Curious about BlueLight.com, and seeking another ISP to accompany AOL on my laptop, I headed over to Kmart. At the checkout I grabbed a copy of BlueLight.com’s free CD for installing their free ISP.
While I...

Pros: Free Cons: Consumer of resources
Brought to us by our friends at K-Mart and Yahoo!, this free internet service with a rather extensive line up of dial-up numbers covering over 95% of the US, has improved their service but not to the point where I would consider it as a back-up...

Pros: Free Cons: Ad Bar, Personal Data, Major Restrictions
Update (2/22) -- Bluelight has now reduced your monthly allowance to 12 hours. In addition, they are routinely kicking us off the service after 45 minutes. Therefore, we're reducing the rating to two stars. See ya,...

Pros: FREE!!! Not forced to click banner ads, no pop-ups Cons: Messed up my computer!!!
The following opinion was written quite awhile ago, while I was still a user of Bluelight.com's free ISP. At the time, everything seemed wonderful...simple download, easy to use, etc. Well, eventually that wall crumbled down and the illusion faded....

Pros: good connection, free, yahoo id and password Cons: glitches out the wazoo, banner ads, etc
My husband likes to get things for free. He also believes that internet access should be free for everyone. This is why we choose to use free ISP's like Juno Web and Bluelight.com.
You get what you pay for, that's for sure. I have yet to find...

Pros: Principle Sounds Great at First Cons: Difficult to Install, and Messes Up My Internet Explorer Settings
When KMart announced that they were going to offer free Internet service through a service appropriately named Bluelight.com I eagerly awaited with anticipation. However, I have to say that I tired of waiting for a product that will refuse to...

Pros: Free, CD available at K-Mart Cons: Slow, sometimes hard to connect, annoying bar, program flaws, "Yahoo!"
I can no longer stand to use the free ISP "BlueLight". I cannot take the stress, the anger, and the frustration. I want nothing to do with this ISP any more, because it is just not worth it. It doesn't even fall into my "backup ISP" category any more....

Pros: It still exists (most other free ISPs are dead) Cons: Rarely connects on first try; frequently disconnects
Recent changes in the Bluelight Free ISP service have produced a serious decrease in its quality. Had I reviewed Bluelight a month ago, I would have given it a positive review, recommending it with only minor qualifications. Now, however, I can only...

Pros: faster dialup, affordable price Cons: it's still dial-up
About 3.5 years ago when my wife and I found out we were getting charged over $20 per month for Compuserve dial-up Internet service, we knew we had to find something else that would work. We decided to try out the Kmart Internet service named ...

Pros: Free internet access, good connection Cons: Bulky, intrusive software
I suppose I should have been wary of a product provided by Kmart, but I'm always interested in giving new ISPs a try. BlueLight is another free ISP that displays an ad bar while connected to the internet. After giving it a fair test, I have decided...

Pros: Easy to configure, reliable service Cons: My primary number was busy a lot -- but the secondary number always picked up
Over the last six months, I have relied on freewwweb.com as my internet service provider while I travel. Unfortunately, on my last business trip I found the freewwweb connection to be out of service. Since I am a total Internet junkie, there was no way I...

Pros: Free, reliable Cons: The typical ads
One can't help but warm up to this free service a bit. For one thing, the folks over at K-Mart obviously have a sense of humor in that they incorporated the term "bluelight" into both the name of their site and their free Internet service....
