Pros: Speed Cons: Too expensive, not portable
I was very happy with Optimum Online when I first installed it three years ago. It was extremely fast, and a great value at $29.99. The performance has decreased since then as more users have signed up. Despite that, the performance is still far superior...

Pros: None. Cons: Unreliable, high service fees for problems they cause, slower than dail-up uploads.
My first experience with Cablevision was their Optimum@home package, part of the @home network. This went well, and then they decided to launch their own service: fine and dandy, I liked this since as people switched to Optimum Online I would recieve nea ...

Pros: Optimum possesses unparalleled speed, and it doesn't tie up your phone line. Cons: Optimum has an awkward interface and an atrocious e-mail service. Customer support is a travesty!
Optimum Online does provide blazing speed, but it comes at a price.
The majority of Optimum's problems focus around its e-mail inbox. Sometimes, it's a crucible just trying to access your messages. Often, you'll type in your username and...

Pros: None? Fast sometimes, when it works. Cons: Worst customer service ever, poor service, tech support not helpful.
I honestly can't believe how many people are rating Optimum Online so high. My problems began 2 years ago with this service and are still not fixed to this day. The service is UNRELIABLE. Sure, it's fast if it works, but I'd rather pay for a...

Pros: speed and reliability Cons: set up not for novices
This is not my first experience with a cable modem. I have had the non- pleasure of using a service called @home though the local cable company in New Orleans. (I actually can't remember the name and it is probably a good thing. Although my previous...

Pros: pretty fast, always on, reasonable price Cons: installation problems, net traffic, outages
The motto of the modem is "Log on once for the rest of your life". It's kind of scary if you think about it. And there's advantages and disadvantages to it too.
One good thing is that you are always online, so you can surf the net...

Pros: fast, reliable, speedy install Cons: no firewall or anti-spam for email
I recently moved, and wished to continue with DSL, but it is not available in my area. I was resistant to Cable access, as if the service is interrupted, you can't watch TV or go online either. At least with DSL, the odds of losing both your phone and...
