Pros: Great speed, always on connection. Cons: High speed is still too expensive in my opinion.
A few months ago, I noticed that my DSL (Bell Sympatico High-Speed) connection was timing out. I then called Bell to inquire about this. After testing my line, they discovered another problem - my connection was extremely slow. After sending out a ...

The internet on cable is surely the greatest thing since sliced bread!
Highly recommended for the PC gamer that likes to do alot of online gaming. I've had the service for a while now and I've never had a problem with it! Sometimes the member...
Pros: Very fast and doesn't tie up my phone Cons: Expensive
I work with a lot of computer geeks - I'm one myself and here in Ontario cable modems and DSL arrived about the same time. Everyone at work was wondering which one to go with. Some said DSL was architected better, some said it didn't matter.
...
Dial-up was getting slow and annoying, so I switch to cable. It was supposed to be a much faster way to go on the Internet without taking up your phone line, and it did not make any noise. I made a bad decision.
Pros: Faster than DSL by a long shot. Cons: phone call wait times; but service was good when they answered.
There is not a faster bandwidth solution anywhere in most of their areas. DSL, although seen as its main competitor was ALOT slower when I had it.
Physically, DSL is not capable of the speeds the cable co is offering. Cogeco offers 2 Mb connection;...
I had the privilege of using cogeco cable for 8 months last year, and i would have to say that it is pretty reliable, but not 100%. It always seemed to not be working when i needed it the most, and when it wasn't working it would be for a few days. But...
Pros: Good speed if you pay for the full, decent speeds with the lower packages. Cons: Slow(compare to their full high speed pack) speed if you get the Cogeco lite.
I have had different Cogeco internet packs on more than a few occasions as I move around a lot. Some in the same city and some elsewhere. But have had a few types of high speed in the very same building. My point is Cogeco will tell you that there is 3 ...
Pros: 900k download, redundant network, knowledgable tech staff Cons: slow wait times on queue
REVISED! as of July 18th 2000.
Hi There,
I recently wrote a comment about cogeco@home and about 10 people somewhat recommended the opinion, I think that if you plan to NR my opinions that you should at least take the time to...
Pros: Can be fast at times. Cons: Often choppy or non-existent internet. Customer service is usually 1/2 hour wait.
They kept on overselling this area, despite inadequate bandwidth capabilities. Told customer service staff to keep up the myth. Most people who try it and know what to expect are disappointed.
The system in Kingston has always been incapable...
Pros: satisfactory viewing Cons: Deficient Customer & billing service
The service is satisfactory I have had no problems with viewing. It is expensive and the program is not very varied even though I had 72 channels.
I canceled the service after 5 months because of the bad customer & billing service.
During this...
Cogeco - Another Big Criminal Company by ruffor ,Apr 06 '05
Pros: Some internet pages do load on 2nd try.
Cons: Buyer Beware! Slow download speeds and no upload speeds.
I subscribed to Cogeco's lite internet cable. I've had High speed before and don't need the extreme speed for 50$.
Cogeco installed the modem and was very gracious to give me a little piece of paper with my email address on it. No manual or CD. Then Cogeco thought they would start charging me for high speed which is 45$. I didn't even think I was getting high speed because every second page could not find server and upload speeds were almost non-existant. I had a new computer with windows XP so it's not a Software issue. Customer support was useless as usual as this was somehow my fault for not phoning them right away for their criminal acts. Cogeco is just another Large company without integrity or morals and only cares about profit.
Cogeco cable - extremely poor service by kak20 ,Oct 16 '07
Pros: Good for nothing.... Cons: Every thing above mentioned describes the cons.
Product - High Speed Internet
Cogeco reps. seem to boast that they provide fastest internet in North America, I would say that it is so poor that its speed crawls down to so bad speeds that you would simply give up using the internet and rather watch TV. I actually also graphed the performance and it starts with 9mbps in the morning between 6-7 am which is what I want to see but in the evening around 5-6 pm, it crawls to anywhere between 500-1500kbps and in the night around 9-10 pm, it may be anywhere between 200-1000 kbps. Poor performance of the product is one thing, on top of that the representatives you speak to try to say that there is no problem at their end, something must be wrong in the home. Someone ask them how would you consistently get close to 9mbps in the morning but it would actually crawl down later.
Customer service: Extremely ill-mannered people to talk to. All they care for is whether their bill is paid in full regardless of what is the quality of service they are providing.
Pros: Amazing customer service Very fast internet connection Very reliable Cons: Quite expensive
I have had only positive experiences with Cogeco. Their high speed internet is very fast and we have had no problems with the tv or phone. Anytime the internet has cut out (maybe about 4 times a year) I have called and received probably the best customer experiences ever. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I only cancelled service after I graduated and moved back home where Cogeco is not available. I would definitely recommend Cogeco!
