Pros: GREAT customer service, wonderful sales team, fast shipment, good product Cons: CDPD is not the fastest technology, but GoAmerica gets the most out of it
[NOTE: Please see bottom for update!]
After reading some opinions on epinions.com, and consulting with some friends in the industry, I decided to take the plunge and try out the GoAmerica Go.Web service. I have a P2 Sony notebook, so I...

Pros: Perhaps for the traveler, should he not mind large bills Cons: Exceptionally poor service
Living on a boat in a harbor at anchor leaves few options for Internet service. For quite a while I operated independently of the web and used my computer as a stand-alone. Moving to shore I developed a website and needed access to be able to maintain...

Pros: Good support, national coverage, unlimited access, good product deals. Cons: Only two rate plans, expensive termination fee, forced use of compression software.
GoAmerica, despite its problems, is a great provider.
GoAmerica is NOT a wireless ISP. They resell other ISP's services (e.g. Bell Atlantic Mobile, AT&T, GTE, etc.) to give you national coverage and a one rate for the whole country. ...

Pros: Great nationwide coverage. Cons: Requies that you use their Proprietary software, hidden charges
GoAmerica is a proprietary nationwide re-seller of CDPD services where you can get caught with lots of hidden charges if you're not careful. As a researcher at the MIT Media Lab, I was looking for a nationwide wireless data service to test a particular...

Pros: one rate for browsing Cons: extra cost for usage
GoAmerica recently changed their rate plan so that doing pure tcp/ip applications - eg. AOL or ICQ - cost .10 a kb. Basically anything but browsing and pop mail cost above and beyond the base rate.
The other thing that GoAmerica just...

Pros: None Cons: Confusing after-sale website; poor customer service
After much debate, I finally decided to buy the Blackberry/RIM 950 through GoAmerica. What an ordeal! Preferring to buy over the Web, I ordered the unit via their (confusing) website and specified 2-Day delivery. Five (5) days later and still no...

Pros: reliable Cons: cannot access secure web sites
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and work as a consultant. I am often at different client sites in a single day. I purchased the Sierra AirCard modem and wireless internet service from GoAmerica so that I could get to my email and access the web from...

Pros: Long distant phone charges Cons: None
Most cellular plans offer the same rate, so don't worry about getting conned out of a few dollars from the get go. The most important thing to look for is how your lifestyle will cheat the phone companies. Look for a plan that has coverage that makes...

Pros: No roaming fees, $100 signup bonus Cons: per KB fees on anything other than WWW and EMAIL, doesnt support SSL thru AirBoss, hard to set up, buggy
First, you have to remember one thing. GoAmerica is NOT a wireless access provider. They just resell access from other companies. The same way that say BellAtlantic will 'resell' you access when you roam out of their network.
The advantage...

Pros: access anywhere, nice speed, great tech support Cons: expensive, forced into 1 year plan
GoAmerica, whats up with that? Why would someone want to spend $50 a month for access to the internet. Are you ready to be spending that much without knowing what its like? I dont think so, thats why I am here to help you.

Pros: Great nationwide coverage Cons: No ability to set a "reply-to" address, Customer service is terrible
Update 2-23-2001: I have been experiencing long tech support hold times and am going on my 4th week waiting for a replacement pager from GoAmerica. There is something wrong with this company. Use http://www.blackberry.net to find a better carrier -- most...

Pros: Not many Cons: HORRIBLE customer service, Overcharged me by $400 and wouldn't credit my account!
I started my service in Nov of 2001 and was fairly satisfied with speed and coverage but didn't get signal where I needed it. So 2 months later I sent them an email in response to a bill I got requesting my service be cancelled. I stopped getting bills...

I would like to reccommend this particular service to all of my friends I am making on here. This is one of the better wireless services that I have seen. GoAmerica seems to have the wireless revolution at hand and I would also have to say that their...

Pros: Nationwide service, Unlimited use pricing Cons: Limited PDA usefulness, Inflexible configuration rules
Unlike Bell Atlantic's wireless data offering and that of most other carriers, GoAmerica gives you true nationwide access wherever CDPD or BSWD service exists without surcharges for "roaming" (see http://www.goamerica.net/tutorial/networks.html...
