Pros: Speed Cons: Wait time, Installation Troubles, Bad Customer Service
A short while ago Bell Atlantic merged and is now known as Verizon. However since there isn't a Verizon category yet I will stick my epinion here.
My story is a story that came about after a Long Tiresome wait to acquire DSL service in my...

Pros: Amazingly fast, easy to install good tech support experiences Cons: none yet
Most of the Epinions on Bell Atlantic Infospeed are very negative. However, I have had a very positive experience with the service, and enjoy it greatly. My only problem is that DSL has me so spoiled, that I will never be able to tolerate a dial-up ISP...

Pros: Price and your payment can be added to your telephone bill. Cons: Customer Service is poor.
Okay, there are many varying opinions on Bell Atlantic's Infospeed, and I read and rated many of them. I agree with many on several areas.
Their customer service leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth and an ache in your neck from being on...

Pros: Verizon will be here in the coming years, many of its competitors will not Cons: A little more expensive than others
I have used Verizon DSL for about five months now in my home office. Prior to using Verizon, I used Prodigy, which worked fine until it was disconnected for no technical reason - the reason was financial troubles of Prodigy and/or its DSL carrier COVAD....

Pros: High speed, no dial up time, no busy signals Cons: Installation is nothing short of hellish
Although Bell Atlantic's InfoSpeed DSL is wonderful once you get the thing working. But let me count the hurdles I have had to overcome to get DSL working in my home:
1. Wait for DSL to become available in my area
2. Wait for a Macintosh...

Pros: Secure, Cheaper and Faster than my ISDN, Very little downtime. Cons: Took forever to get working. Tech support is useless.
I ordered the 640/90 DSL service early on in it's rollout from my local Central Office. This was bound to lead to multiple problems and it certainly did. First off my service ready date was over 6 weeks from when I ordered it, it then was changed to...

Pros: fast and noiseless connection, easy modem setup Cons: irregular page loading, relatively expensive, long wait before service activation.
I ordered infospeed dsl mainly because it is the only service currently available in my area, and because I could try it risk free for a whole month. I chose the option of installing the modem myself, since it made the service cheaper, and installing a...

Pros: Not available everywhere Cons: Is available in some areas
Bell Atlantic DSL support and customer service is mind-bogglingly inept. In my decade or more online I have never encountered such amateurish behavior from any ISP, never mind one run by one of the biggest and most powerful companies in the country. ...

Pros: Fast, Reliable, Price Cut Cons: Installation could be more elegant
I hear tons of horror stories about Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) Infospeed DSL. While my installation didn't go off without a hitch, I can't say there were any real problems. I have not suffered any significant outage problems or other issues. I have...

Pros: fast, when and if it works as promised Cons: unreliable service, worst tech support on earth
I am extremely disatisfied with Bell Atlantic DSL and would warn anyone to think twice before signing up. I'm a recognized Internet expert, so I'm not a newbie and know when there's a serious problem with a product. Here's a history of what I've gone...

Pros: They installed the service quickly Cons: Everything else.
I got this service back in November. They hooked it up pretty quickly. That was when the pain began. I could regularly not get online or surf for hours at a time, usually a couple times a week. Sometimes it would go down for a whole day. The...

Pros: fast, fast, fast Cons: installation, support, some down time
When you actually get to use the service...it's great! Actually, after the installation woes, I'd say the service is up about 98% of the time. There are occasional nights when the service goes down for a few hours at a time.
It is fast! I...

Pros: fast and a decent price Cons: installation, service, phone support nightmare!
Follow Note:
I wrote this review almost six months ago. I've continued to be happy with the service, but I've got some notes to add:
- I have a few friends in the area who've acquired cable modem service, and so far, they have a faster...

Pros: Home service appointments were kept Cons: Useless tech support; disorganized; long waits; no call-backs when promised; little follow
A weight lifted from my shoulders today. I terminated my Bell Atlantic DSL (non)service -- having tried for two months to get on line. I bought hundreds of dollars worth of equipment and spent approximately 14 hours on the phone, most of it waiting....

Pros: Much faster than dial up; much better than the alternatives for high-speed access Cons: No Linux support; Bad customer service; not nearly as fast as promised; flaky DNS services
I had a hard time deciding what rating to give Bell Atlantic DSL. It was much harder to get set up than it should have been, but it was easier than I feared. And now that DSL is working it's great, but not as great as I was hoping. I'll present my DSL...
