MSN - Is your blood boiling yet? Mine is!

by poseidon Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Feb 05 '02
Pros: It is fast. I can say that much.
Cons: Horrible technical support. No warning about closing pre-existing accounts with Hotmail.
In my November 29, 2001 farewell address to the Epinions.com community, I said:

I may even submit an article or two when I fall in love with a product or hate it so much that I need to share it with the world.

In the infamous...

Not Much Bad To Say About It

by roynyr Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Sep 09 '00
Pros: Good connections, knowledgable staff, download speed
Cons: Can't contact by phone, somewhat pricey
I have had Microsoft Internet Access for about six months and have been pleasantly surprised by their pretty good service. The reason that I had chosen MSN was because of a special rebate offer at the store when purchasing my computer package. I...

by bwyckoff1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jan 03 '01
Pros: none
Cons: too busy, too stupid, too much of a waste of time
Are you too calm? Blood pressure so low that you faint upon standing? I came upon the medical cure and I never even attended med school. That answer is try to sign up and use the MSN as your dial up internet service provider. As my sweet and loyal...

by khahn86351 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 27 '01
Pros: Faster than AOL, reliable, and of course . . . the $400 rebate!
Cons: One email address
If your friends told you jump off a bridge, would you do it? Well, I did and somehow I landed on a life preserver!

If you are looking for specific facts about MSN, this opinion isn't for you. This is written specifically about why I chose...

DONT GO WITH MSN NO MATTER WHAT THEY GIVE YOU FOR FREE

by onabreak2 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jan 28 '00
Pros: They are on Every Computer
Cons: NIGHTMARE BILLING DEPARTMENT
I had MSN and while it had some nice features it wasn't worth what they charge for internet access.

After I cancelled my account they kept charging me . I had a account that I used for just Internet purchases . When I called the billing...

Is Your Blood Pressure Low?

by spongebag7 , Jun 09 '06
Pros: Some decent features, The e-mail account you get
Cons: TERRIBLE support, most features terrible or decieving, expensive
Beginning paragraph, no way. How about beginning sentence: MSN is a dial-up company owned by Microsoft (Microsoft SService Network [I think that's what it is]) 1. Before you even start a fresh account, chances are you'll have to ...

Definitely not one of my favorites

by MzDawna , Mar 25 '00
Pros: It's a way to connect to the internet
Cons: Only one e-mail address; e-mail is difficult to set-up; the MSN browser is terrible; technical support is horrible
MSN is one of the many ISP's that I've taken the opportunity to try out.

MSN fees are comparable to most major Internet providers. They provide unlimited Internet access for $21.95 per month. 56k connections are available nationwide.

Doesn't Microsoft know we can get Internet access for free?

by Gr8ful Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Jul 20 '00
Pros: Usually good connection speed, nice internet package
Cons: Customer service just plain bites
I will admit that Microsoft offers a nice internet package with ease of use and usually good connection speeds but there are several disturbing reasons I would rather have to look at banner ads to get free access. The most important thing in any...

MSN...So Far, So Good

by martineden , Jul 07 '00
Pros: Offered a deal that made buying a computer more affordable
Cons: None so far
Actually, it was MSN that finally allowed me to escape from WebTV.
I was wandering around pricing computers, not actually believing I could afford one, when I wandered into Office Depot, where I came face to face with an offer I could not...

Good luck leaving MSN

by bcfrench , Jan 22 '01
Pros: Came free with my system
Cons: Very poor customer service and tech support
Perhaps my opinion is colored by the fact that the only thing I wanted from MSN was to remove it from my system. Yet, I think it is a good illustration of what a customer might expect, put in the same situation.

MSN came with my new Dell...

Some of the best service I ever had.

by Witch_Writer , May 02 '01
Pros: Reasonably quick connections. No bump offs. No sleazy IM's. great customer service.
Cons: While it is quick, sometimes I think it could be faster.
It is a long story as to how I got to MSN Internet Service. Boy, was it ever a trip!

When I started using the Internet, I began with America Online. There were some things that I did like about AOL. But the things that I did like were also on...

MSN Communities - Roll Your Own Website

by rbinck Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 21 '01
Pros: Handy way for friends & family to keep in touch.
Cons: Sometimes can be slow.
MSN Communities

Part of the MSN.com site is a very special area called the web communities. Web communities have message boards like the stock boards on cnbc.com or fool.com, but they are much, much more versatile. I was first...

Best ISP

by SParkfan77 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 16 '00
Pros: Fast, Reliable and quality connections
Cons: The customer service representatives were a little off.
Man, I can remember when I first got my computer. I was so excited. The question became clear that we had to choose an Internet Server. My choice was AOL. I found out down the road that AOL was terrible so that was a bad choice from me. I download...

My Ongoing Nightmare with MSN Broadband

by shredgirl , Jun 15 '02
Pros: Fast connection when it's available.
Cons: Intermittent connectivity and incompetent technical support.
Last year I was one of the unfortunate few who had to migrate from Qwest Internet Access to MSN Broadband. The technical support staff at MSN is absolutely deplorable. I know this because I have dealt with at least 10 technicians over a 3 month period...

MSN - My Speedy Network

by jcare Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 07 '00
Pros: High Speed, No Busy Signals, Consistent Billing
Cons: Have to use Outlook Express for Email.
Contrary to many epinions on this site I have never had a problem with MSN. Based upon what others have been saying maybe I'm just lucky and should use my Epinions $$ to buy lottery tickets..

I have been an MSN user for over 3 years, back when...
